Both times I have been very happy with my text. Eugened is very knowledgeable. I wish when the repair w a done last Dec 19th 2024 that tech would have fixed the additional problem. This was a leftover issue from the last visit that cost ne another $848.00 that was covered last December. So unfair to me to have to pay again. On March 3, 2034, I put in a claim with Select Home Warranty for my refrigerator and freezer. The fridge and not cooling, all of the food and ice in my freezer had thawed and there was water on the floor. The earliest they said they could schedule a service technician to come to my home was March 14, 2024! Sears Appliance Repair was the company that came to my home on March 14, 2024. After an assessment of the work, the technician realized that my unit needed a new thermostat. He placed an order for a new thermostat and said it would be shipped to my house within a week and rescheduled me a new appt for install on March 29, 2024! The part came within a week. LUCKY FOR ME Sears Appliance Repair were able to return on March 25, 2024. The technician did the install and said to give it some time before the compressor starts to work. I woke up the next morning (March 26) and not only is the fridge and freezer still warm, but no ice was made last night! I immediately called Select Home Warranty (9am) to see when a technician can come back out to my home for rework. I was told to wait for an email with instructions on when the technician would come back to my house for the rework. By 12 noon, I still had not received an email. So I call Select Home Warranty again. I was told the same thing, ...wait for an email. Now it is 4:30 pm, no email no phone calls. I called Select Home Warranty and the agent informed me that Sears Appliance Repairs performed the work and that I would have to put in another claim. I informed the agent that the work was not completed, the fridge was still not cooling nor making ice and I should not have to put in another claim. It is now 9pm and I still have not received an email or a call back as promised. I have literally been without the use of a fridge and freezer since March 7, 2024!! This has been unsatisfactory experience to say the least so I have no choice but to pay to of pocket for a repair person. But I do have a choice to cancel this warranty immediately. This is my first time using Select Home Warranty and last. I hope none of you warranty holder ever have to go through the experience that I have had with this company. Sears Appliance Repairs need to do a better job to check on a client after the work has been done to see if the work was ACTUALLY completed to the customers' satisfaction. Very, very frustrating experience. The tech had no clue what he was doing in replacing the fridge compreSSor. 5 and a half hours later, he didn't have the part to "finish" up. He also put 3 burn holes in my LVP flooring, and didn't have the integrity to say he did it. 3 appointments later, It turns out he totally ruined the new compressor and we had to reorder it and start from scratch. So I just had them send me the new compressor to my house and I hired someone else to install it. It only took that tech 40 minutes to do it correctly. I rate my technicians both visits a 5 plus, but being able to contact you and talk to someone NOT from a 3rd world country that understands what i needed, thats under a 1. I had my parts for 2 weeks and my fridge froze up, i meeded to move up my appt and couldnt get through to anyone. read more

Terrible experience. My biggest lesson, DO NOT buy the warranty service. Generally, I do not but my appliances are all 5 plus years old so thought I would try. My technician, Ryan, was very polite and prompt. Needed to order a pump for my washing machine so came back following week. All that was good. Ryan installed the new pump but did not reconnect the hose properly so when I ran my first load of laundry floor was pooled with water. I texted Ryan and he told me I needed to call the service number so they could send him back out. I did so and they told me that because I purchased the warranty I had to go to that service. I was transferred to three different people. No one was able to schedule a simple recall appointment. I'm so frustrated that I've canceled the warranty and will hook up the hose myself. My GE stovetop burners have gone out twice in the last 2 years. The warranty company, Service Protection Advantage, apparently subcontract to Sears Home Repairs. It's impossible to talk to a person - everything must be done on the website. The appointment "window" is 8am-5pm. For the first appointment date, Gene, called me at 4:07pm and told me his truck broke down. I waited 2 more weeks until I could be rescheduled - same appointment window. Gene came at 3:58, looked at the stove and asked me if I'd been sent parts. Of course not - I had no idea what was wrong or what was needed. He said he had to order the necessary parts. I requested a shorter window since I'd already wasted 2 days. He was rude, said he had nothing to do with that, refused to give me a contact phone number to call, ordered the parts, and left within 10 minutes. He was supposed to come back today to fix it and called at about 2:30 to say he wasn't going to be able to make it. Now, I've been rescheduled for January 4. I was never asked if this is a convenient date, and again, no one to speak with. This has been going on since before Thanksgiving, so over - it'll be more than 8 weeks, IF it gets repaired then. read more

What a complete waste of money. We called for a repair on our refrigerator at first was told some would come out on January 26th at the end of that day received an email from sears we were rescheduled until Feb 7th. They came & diagnostic test and ordered a compressor. Had to wait until Feb 19th to have it installed. They came & installed. As of Feb 21st the refrigerator will not stop running & not working as it should. We called and its a automated nightmare until you can get a person. They said Feb 29th next available appt. We asked to speak to a supervisor & was told they would call in 2 hrs. Never called and they also never set the appt & no email confirmation of it. A complete waste of $ 1142.00 compressor , labor and diagnostic. Save your money & time do not ever call here for a repair they obviously don't back there work & don't care. I gave the kid a 5 star for his friendliness & politeness but this company overall is terrible. I will be sure to tell anyone I know about this experience And not to call them. Shame read more
