Do NOT use this service. I asked Sears Appliance repairman to remedy a leak where the water inlet hose attached to the back of my dishwasher. After about 1-3/4 hours, the repair was completed at a cost of $319.00. No additional parts were installed and this seemed very expensive to connect a hose. The repairman did not connect the drain hose back to the plumbing saying that he was not licensed to do this. He left completion of the repair to me. He did say that the dishwasher pump seemed "strained" and that there might be a problem with the "air gap" in my plumbing... but that he could not work on this because he was not a plumber. There were no such issues before his visit. I have since run the dishwasher, draining into a bucket to avoid any "air gap" problem. The dishwasher now throws an E:09 code. This code was not present before the repairman's visit. My dishwasher is now in worse condition after the repair than before! I have attempted to contact Sears Appliance Repair but it is impossible to contact an agent to lodge a complaint. Sears Appliance Repair phone menu says that it does not recognize my phone number (which is the same as that I used to make my initial appointment and to which Sears sent an after service survey). Sears Appliance Repair asks for a service order number, however, no emailed receipt was provided after service (this was committed to in their before service texts). Sears Appliance Repair says only that an AI agent "Samantha" is available and no live agents are available to take complaints. Sears Home Repair appears to be dodging accountability for the quality of their services provided. read more

This is a really awful company, run by awful people. Scheduled some service to fix a dryer. They came out, no problem-- $6 part that they charged us $60 for, $300-600/hr labor rates, and then we had an issue with rescheduling, and it was impossible to do online, and even more impossible get in touch with a human being until you contest the charge with your credit card company and then suddenly they're paying attention. There is no way to actually call them-- it's just an AI bot that is unable to help you. The technician may or may not communicate with you. The real human who called me-- who sounded like she was speaking through a sock, and told me that she doesn't usually call customers (no kidding)- told me that $300-600 an hour is the "going rate." I am guessing the technician is not making $300-600 an hour. I am guessing that the private equity goons who disassembled the smoldering remains of Sears are earning most of that money. read more

Missed Appointment: Technician did not show up for scheduled appointment. The appointment was scheduled for all day and at the end of the day, after receiving a message that the technician was on the way, I then received a message stating that my appointment was rescheduled. Follow Up: Sears Home Services did not have a live agent when I called concerning the rescheduled appointment. Sears uses AI. AI kept offering me dates and after I accepted the date, AI would then reply that the date/time was not available. I was unable to reschedule. read more

The service person came to my home last week and ordered the wrong part. They were scheduled to return today, March 24th between 7:00AM - 4:00Pm. According to Sears app at 12:00 the technician was 2 stops away. The time is now 4:45 and the appointment has been moved 6:45 and the app still states they are two stops away. My technician was great. Personable, effective & communicative. My experience with Sears on the whole for this project was poor. My dishwasher is old & I expected little in terms of repair initially, especially when I placed my first work order in early 2025 sometime & the part they thought I needed was back ordered for months. Just before I gave up on repairing my machine the part arrived. A technician came out to install it took apart some of my machine & declared the long awaited part was not needed, something else was needed. I wait for second set of parts and finally get these & today my work order through Sears is not an installation of these new parts but a diagnosis. Only 1 of the new parts was used and my technician diagnosed my washer problem as not enough water pressure & a hose that was in the wrong position to drain properly. He was confused about how this work order got so bungled. I waited over six months for support. Not sure my $60 a month warranty is worth it for the appliances I have, I am considering canceling my subscription. read more

It is very confusing and I could not modify the Driver instruction screen (a programming bug) so I could not give the previous repairman instructions on the gate code to get into the subdivision. I had a service repair on 2/21/26. The technician changed the sensor, but my refrigerator is still NOT operating properly. The freezer is not freezing or making ice and the refrigerator is NOT cooling either. Two parts were ordered for the fix ( a diffuser and a sensor ) but only the sensor was replaced. The technician felt the diffuser was working properly and didn't need replacing. But apparently that's not correct because I am still without a properly working refrigerator. i'm not a happy customer right now. read more

I am not so happy with Sears Home Services though. I called to schedule repair of my Weider 4250 Weight Machine. Samantha, the AI bot in charge of Customer Service, scheduled two appointments for me and go the name of my equipment wrong. Just "Wider", instead of Weider 4250. After reviewing my order online I tried to find a person in Customer Service to talk to to make the necessary corrections. There is no person in Customer Service anymore, just Samantha. I called Samantha, the bot, back to make the changes. She cancelled the extra appointment and spelled the name of the equipment. But, the change was never made. Very frustrating. I had a few sleepless nights wondering if I should cancel. I had no confidence in Sears Home Services, just hoped for the best. read more

* NO MORE SUSPENSE - ESTIMATED PRICE FOR DRYER BELT REPLACEMENT FROM THE SEARS TECH $350 * -- SUMMARY, DID NOT USE THEM AND CALLED ANOTHER LOCAL COMPANY WHO DID IT FOR $150 TOTAL (SERVICE CALL INCLUDED). BACKGROUND Had made an appointment with these SEARS guys for dryer repair for 4/5 (morning). After waiting and waiting and waiting and calling and calling after it passed 12pm, passed 1pm, passed 2pm - the tech finally called me back close to 3pm! Let me explain in bullet points: 1. My appt was confirmed for 4/5 morning 2. No one contacts you when you book to give you an idea or rough estimate on what the repair might cost (ex. Bad control board 200, replace belt 150, etc). They don't give an estimate likely because they enjoy charging over $100 just for the service call for the tech to come out and tell you what the issue is. But, at this point, you're already down a hundred bucks! If they had provided a repair estimate, one would not have called them in the first place! 3. After waiting too long, I tried to find a number to call to see when this awesome service person will show up, BUT its IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of anyone in USA for customer service and when you do, they claim not to have the ability to contact the tech to confirm his arrival time even after he was grossly late! 4. Sears service guy calls me close to 3pm! He says something like my dryer issue I explained to him would be a belt replacement as my drum wasn't spinning, would cost about $350 to repair. I said, probably a better choice to just buy a new dryer. So, I cancelled my service call and called a local company who put in a new belt for $150! Moral of the story: If you want to get ripped off on your repair and wait hours and hours after your "confirmed" appointment - before the Sears tech even calls you, make sure to give SEARS HOME SERVICES a call. Never will use again when there are more honest local family appliance repair businesses! read more

Had used them before so when we had a problem with our oven, I decided to use them again. When making the appointment online, they asked for the model number and serial number of the oven. They told me there was a $149 trip charge.when the technician arrived, he looked at our oven and said it was not serviceable due to parts not being available. If they had looked it up before they came out, they would've known that the parts weren't available and it would've saved me the $149. Stay away from this company! If I could give zero stars, I would. Update after their response: I already did contact you via Facebook messenger (prior to posting my initial review) and was told there isn't anything you will do for me, the fee is non-refundable. I'm sticking with my one star review that I wish could be zero. Called for repairs of freezer Thursday 4-24-2025 & was given an appt for Saturday 4-26-25 bet 7AM-4PM by the AI agent. Saturday no call, no show. Called svc nbr again & was given new appt of Monday 4-28 bet 1-5PM. No call no show from Sears. Asked AI agent to give nbr for a live agent. The person answering, could barely speak english & claim was unable to offer an appt sooner 4-30-25 bet 1-4PM. She said there was no other sooner option. I have food spoiling in my freezer, yet I can't speak to anyone that can access that this is an emergency situation. I've paid my $49 monthly fee promptly for the worst service. read more

The Technician was pleasant and knowledgable. however he was unable to complete the repair due to lack of parts. so I am very distisfied.

I purchased Sears protect 5/23. They sent a guy who never repaired a trash compactor so the diagnostic fee was waived because nothing was done. He ordered a motor, gears and a nut but the problem is more likely to be a switch based upon my research. Also this compactor only has one gear assembly under the unit (not two). Then I had to wait home for a tech to arrive on July 3, 8, 9, 10 & 13. All were no shows and the tech did not call or text. Instead I had to call and was forced into a rescheduled appointment. Wait times on phone calls were 25 to 73 minutes before I could speak to a rep. On the 13th, our Tech was supposed to be David. His ETA was supposed to be 8:53-9:53. No show. ETA changed To 10:15. No show. ETA changed to 2:15. Each time rep assured we are next stop and tech will call me. No show again. ETA changed to 3-4:54. No show. No call. Instead Sears sent text saying service appointment was rescheduled to 7/22 which is eight days out and conflicted with a medical appointment. That was one fraud too many so I called Sears Home Services for a 100% refund today because Sears defaulted the contract by not repairing the appliance for two months. They sent a request for an RMA at my insistence but have no idea when Dispatch will contact me regarding the RMA. i was told I cannot go to a local UPS office to ship parts back. I was told they won't give me an RMA that I can take to a local UPS office. They insist that I wait for dispatch to contact me and that if and when I receive the RMA, that I have to WAIT AGAIN for your UPS person to come and get the parts. Sears does not value my time and as far as I am concerned, the company practices a scam on people promising services, taking our money but not fulfilling their promise to repair the appliance. I have posted in two residence groups what Sears did. I am contacting AARP so they can warn people not to do business with Sears. I am contacting Senators and State Reps. Since the parent company is based in Texas, they are committing a fraud upon customers across state lines. I will pursue that too. I will contact the BBB to report Sears Home Services wherever they operate. I will somehow contact your small investors and tell them what they did to me and suggest they sell their stock so that they are not associated with a company that has such a poor reputation. I am very creative and feel it is my duty now to warn people to not do business with Sears Home Services and will not stop until they refund me 100% for what I paid for the Sears Protect TV plan. Everyday I will work on telling people what a terrible company Sears Home Services is. They make promises they don't keep. The repair person did not listen to my concerns. the person that came to my house did not know how to repair a piece that came off the appliance when he was trying to figure out what part needed replacing. Once he got assistance from the office he said that the part was not available. Unfortunately the part is available and I found it on many websites. We had the repair service insurance for many years. They were always responsive in making repairs. We had a premium washer repaired many times across 20 years. The contract includes appliance replacement if it can no longer be repaired. It should be noted that the replacement appliance must be selected off of a Sears list: You cannot receive cash applied to an appliance of your own choice; it takes hours on hold and phone call after phone call to accomplish a selection and delivery date; the process took nearly three months during which we were without a washer. Since the life expectancy of a decent washer is 10 years if you are lucky, then I would recommend saving the money spent on an insurance premium and paying out of pocket for repairs and just purchasing a new one when the time comes. That way you may be ahead of the game dollar-wise I would not recommend Sears appliance insurance for the long run. read more
