Jason was a very nice guy and knowledgeable but came and went and never did anything more than put his hand in the freezer to see if the fan kicked on. Tried to explain to me that my garage is too cold (never goes below 30 degrees) for my garage ready upright freezer is rated for 0-110 degrees Fahrenheit. Also explained to me that the freezer was a little to pack and not circulating the air which is causing the thawing/not freezing. Freezer isn't more pack then it usually is the last 5 years we had the freezer. Also, I told him I've been hearing a very audible clicking, like a relay or something trying to turn on, since the freezer stopped working. He brushes it off and says it's the compressor even though I never heard it THAT clicking before. Took his advice and freed up some space to get air circulation and the following two days have been in the high 50s and 60s so garage isn't cold. Still broken. $140 diagnostic fee for 10 minutes for him to touch the compressor and feeling for air and brushing things i mentioned off aside. 2 star for a very nice guy. read more

This makes me think the excuse about needing a helper was just that--an excuse. Customers' time shouldn't be wasted with last-minute cancellations. The issue was not fixed, and no action was taken. DON'T CALL SEARS!! Service call for 2/25/23 was rescheduled for 3/1/23, FINALLY. The technician was to perform routine maintenance on Kenmore washer. Technician started appliance and stated it's fine. (?) My issue is for the Kenmore dryer. I was advised the dryer needed a belt and tension pulley. Based on my search, parts would likely total $40-$50.00. I was quoted a price of $420.13 for parts and labor. We have a home warranty and they dispatched sears appliance service to look at the front load washer that had stopped working. 1st technician came on a Saturday. He called in the claim and was unable to open a claim because the warranty department was closed on Saturday. (Warranty co ml pany is at fault as much for dispatching a tech on a day they are closed. Took a week to get a 2nd technician out. He had to order parts. He thought he had the problem located. The 3rd technician was another week just to arrive to install the part. It did not cure the fault and machine refused to run. They sent a report to warranty company that the door lock mechanism had caused a wiring harness and circuit board to short out. Problem 1... wiring harness is not shorted. Problem 2... a door latch would have a 0.001% chance of shorting the circuit board out. I grew up in a service industry and have competent knowledge of wiring harnesses ( I checked every wire and all were ok). I also checked the functioning of the door lock unit and it was functioning properly. The report was a supposition as to what "could" have possibly caused the problem. That way the terminology was vague enough to clear them of any liability and to fill out a report to send in, fulfilling their (albeit halfhearted) attempt at diagnosing the failure. Their report caused the claim to be denied because the warranty company does not cover doors or seals. The part is in the cabinet, not in the door. Because of this report, the denied claim was closed. Had to file an appeal, go through getting a 2nd opinion (at my own expense) and if it is shown to be different than sears report the warranty company might repay me for the second opinion, or repay me what the company pays the service technicians. Sears AP repair had no clue what caused the failure and since they didnt know and had to list something, they listed all parts that it "might" have been. While polite during the process, the technicians were very unprofessional in reporting "possible" causes. I will never allow sears repair to touch anything at our house again. This has been a totally unsatisfactory and unprofessional service claim. Yes, warranty companies are tough to work for and make any profit on a job, but at least be honest and professional. read more

SCAM, I had a noise problem with my Samsung Refrigerator. The first visit started in August last year. I had to schedule 8 more visits and none of the 3 different repair guys were able to fix the problem which is that the back of the fridge freezes up and the fan hits the built up ice and makes the noise and stops working eventually at all. They told me I have to pay again with the 8th visit because the 90 day work warranty from August is expired by now February. In December they exchanged the the defrost sensor but gave no warranty on that. Why would they think I pay them more money when they were not capable to fix it the last 7 visits...? After waiting a week for the repairman to come repair my clothes dryer, he worked on it for almost two hours and had to call a friend to help diagnose the issue. He then told me that the dryer was fixed (there was a loose connector only) and charged me over $170 to reattach that connector (or so he stated). Unfortunately for me, I accepted his word that it was fixed and proceeded to was a load of laundry and then place in the supposedly fixed dryer. To my surprise, no heat and no drying. I called their hotline and complained and they said no problem since it was covered for 90 days and they will send out someone in ANOTHER WEEK! I do not recommend Sears Home Service! They will rip you off. I had an issue with the lint filter not laying flush anymore. It was due to lint in the trap. Repairman was very nice however after having to wait 2 weeks for parts to come in the repair was completed in the afternoon but the refrigerator was still not working. I called that evening to let them know that I needed another service call. I was told that I had to call the next morning. Upon calling as soon as they opened I was told that the service call from the previous day was still "open" so I could not book another apt. Try back after 12 noon. I called back only to be told it still wasn't closed so no apt. I asked to speak to supervisor and was told that she could put in an emergency service request and that ANY available repair person will contact me today. At 5 pm I still had not heard from anyone and called back only to be told there is no such thing as an emergency service call and the case was still open so no apt. After again requesting a supervisor I was told that they would make a follow up appointment but that no one was available in my area for another week. I feel this is very poor service and that the service rep should have made certain the refrigerator was cooling before he left to begin with but the rest that followed was just completely unacceptable!!! I would not recommend anyone to call them for repairs!!! I guess we will see what happens next week when they complete the follow up call. read more
