What can I say about Sears Auto Center of Annapolis? Let me tell you about my experience. I went on line to look at some Michelin tires. The cost of the tires on line was great. I decided to purchase 3 tires in line and have them installed at Annapolis. On- line it showed they were only one of 3 stores that had the tires in stock. I made an appointment for a Saturday at 10 am. I received a text message that the tires were there and then an email confirming my appt. I made plans with my friend to meet me in Annapolis at 10 that morning while my car was being worked on. I checked in, presented my on line confirmation, her gentleman wrote up my ticket and said it would be 2 hrs. Prior to us leaving we had given him me and my friends cell phone number. He also checked with the gentleman named Jack to confirm the tires were indeed there. Jacks words were yes the tires are here or I wouldn't have accepted the order. I don't know where they are now but I'll get my hands on them. Fast forward 2 1/2 hrs later we return to my car with the same worn out tires, in the same parking space I left it. The car hadn't been moved. At this point I'm furious. I go back in to ask what happened and the gentleman who initially checked us in advised us to speak with Jack. Long story short they didn't have the tires. Now remind you we left 2 different phone numbers for them to call. Neither one of us had a miss call or message. He says the tires got stuck at the warehouse and wouldn't be in until Monday. I just spent my entire Saturday morning out Annapolis for a service I didn't receive. The inconvenience this visit was to me was huge. It made me late for my next scheduled appointment and it was a waste of time and gas. I live an hour away so I was pissed. He suggested I come back Monday. That would be a no. There was no way I could make that happen. Anyway, Jacks supervisor TJ came and spoke with us. He is the only reason I gave 2 stars. He offered to take the tires to the white oak store when they came in Monday. He didn't have to do that but he did. I am grateful. Otherwise, I would have had to wait longer: what I learned from this experience is to follow up, follow up follow up. I wish I would have had Jack go look for the tires before I left. I wish I would have called the store directly to confirm the tires were there. In any event, this mishap was solely the stores responsibility I will not be utilizing their services again at the Annapolis store but a huge thank you to TJ. I went there to get my tires rotated, balanced, aligned. I have a Sears service policy to cover the cost. One would think this shows I'm a loyal customer, so let's treat her right. I had an appointment. I arrived 10 mins before the appointment at 10 a.m. I was told it would take about 2 hours. But it wasn't finished until 4 p.m. They claim enough mechanics didn't come to work to get all the jobs done in a timely manner. This has happened too many times. I will not return there read more

I don't not recommend going here. I recently took my car (BMW X5) here for an oil change. They forgot to put the sticker in the window. I thought that was odd. But maybe they forgot. Then they said they did a suspension check and everything was good. My car is literally sitting out the tires in the rear as the air suspension is bad. Did they even look at the car? While I spoke to a nice person on the phone that said changing two tires would take about an hour, when I arrived this morning, I was highly disappointed (like most others who seem to post here). I arrived just after 8am this morning. As there were three people in front of me, didn't think it would take so long to check in... however, when I was able to meet a ride to take me to work, it was 8:30am - it took 30 minutes to check-in four people! The service was good but extremely slow. Then, I stated I needed to get my car at 11:15am - this was 2 hours and 45 minutes later. I asked if this was going to happen, they said probably and they would call me when it was done. I called them at 11:15am - they said it would be another 1.5 hours. From their conversation on the person in front of the line, there was one car from the night before - so I was car #5 and they wouldn't be done until 5 hours after they opened?!?! This is a huge service issue and is affecting my work day. If you need timely and dependable delivery of your service - AVOID SEARS! read more

I took my car in to get a new battery installed. When I got it back, it was filthy. There was residue all over the driver's side door, floor, and the steering wheel. They did not even make an effort to clean it. I cannot believe they would leave a car so filthy after a simple battery installation. Will not be coming back for service or recommending it to others. I have been very pleased with the Sears Automotive Center at Annapolis Mall. Team, Paynee, Jack & Ash have always been professional, courteous and would go the extra mile to provide superior service. On my last visit, Jack explained everything that was going to be done. He listened carefully to all my questions and his responses resolved my issues. My appointment was 11AM. I went to a 11:15 movie and when I returned, my car was ready to go. I have received the same quality service from Paynee when she was handling my requests. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars has nothing to do with the personnel or the work that was done. I feel that Sears hasn't updated their computer system to meet the standards of the 21st century. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. All I needed was a wheel alignment which is priced at $85. Ended up getting a new tire rod and whatever else. They had to go to another place to get the parts and tried charging me double. So even though I finally wasn't charged double for that part, they still tried overcharging me. At first they priced everything to $370. Once my boyfriend showed up and haggled them the price was dropped to $290, which we still felt like we were being over charged. I brought my car in at 3:30pm which the said it wouldn't take more than 1.5 hours...I finally got my car back at 9pm. Absolutely ridiculous. Lesson learned. read more

Had a horrible experience at this place. Needed brake pads changed because they went out on my way to work. They said my tires, rotors, and oil all needed to be changed as well and they would only do all or nothing. I have a boyfriend who's a mechanic so only wanted the brake pads done so I could get home and have him do the rest but they were super rude and refused. They take advantage of you and only want your money. Don't waste your time here. read more

Helpful both on the phone and at the check-in counter. They provided great service and told me what they could do and what they couldn't before I even committed to any service or dropped my car off. They've really stepped it up compared to the other reviews I've seen. I just wouldn't want to wait inside for long. The fumes from the rubber tires would make anyone loopy. The mall is right there guys... I'm sure you could kill time waiting on your car service better in your favorite store than in the little gray waiting area. read more

I have bought many sets of tires from this Sears over the years and have always received marginal to poor service but a recent visit has ensured that I will never go there again. I brought a wheel in to have a new tire installed after a neighborhood kid slashed tires on my and 13 other cars. I dealt with a young lady who spoke poor English, knew nothing about cars and didn't know how to run their system. Then the other girl there told me to carry in my own dirty tire even though I was in business attire. When I told them they could do it for me they refused and said I could wait until a tech was free but it may be 30 minutes or so...... My potential tab was $170. I left and went down the street to NTB who hooked me up right away and matched Sear's sale price. read more

I literally came just to get a tire replaced, arrived at 8am talked to a nice sales man and then he told me the mechanic's was not in yet an that i would be in and out. Well finally mechanic arrives at 8:30 gets lost/confused trying to find the tire I need, then tosses my tire from the second floor. It took them 2.5 hours to change my oil and balance my tires on a Monday morning. The cost of labor was exorbitant and as far as I can tell, my tires have not been balanced correctly. The staff member Cynthia was totally disaffected, made no eye contact, only spoke to me in brief, irritated quips and made no effort to explain the pricing or procedure. And when I finally got back to my car there was an empty can of soda rolling around the front seat. I do not drink soda, my car is not a trash can! AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

Last straw today. Showed up 10 minutes after the Center's 8 a.m. opening. No mechanics had shown up for work and they weren't sure when or if they were arriving. Estimated time for a simple oil change -- four to five hours. I gave them one last chance and they showed abysmal customer service yet again. No more. read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! Between the horrible service and ridiculous amount of time to fix minor problems this has to be the worst choice of garages. Mechanics just standing around talking while they waiting room is full of upset customers. Waited 3+ hours to have a headlight replaced then stupidly came back to have a tire repaired and waited over two before leaving and taking it somewhere else (after watching then drop a lady's SUV off the lift. They ripped off a piece of my car to fix a flat. I mean, who does that? Didn't properly put it up on the lift, and off came a side of the body. Still don't understand how that really happened... They didn't have the parts to fix it, so they made me come back, called me twice to find a time that worked, only to be unable to find the parts and ask me to come back again. No manager available, none on call. Had to wait 20 min to just talk to someone. Plus the place is dirty, expensive, time consuming, and has poor customer service, for the life of me, I can't understand how this place is still in business. read more

Pretty terrible. We've taken our car there for oil changes and tires numerous times. The last time they did something to the car which caused a tough idle. Had no issues when we brought it in but it was immediately noticeable when we left. Not sure where they find their employees but I doubt their training. read more

I will NEVER bring my car into a Sears auto center because of the service my boyfriend received here. His oil light came on and he brought it in to them because they said they were a full service garage and we were at the mall anyway. All we needed to know was whether or not there was actually an issue with the oil pressure or if it was just the sensor. They "diagnosed" it with a broken sensor and sent us on our way. Next day car completely died, and when we had it towed back there they finally actually checked the oil pressure (they had previously just hooked it up to the code reader), and lo and behold the oil pressure was low. Now the engine is toast and they refuse to take responsibility for it. read more

I love this place, they are so friendly and helpful. They take beautiful care of my car, replacing tires, oil changes and today a new battery. I don't know where you can go that could be easier. Their prices are competitive and the service is great. read more

I should have checked here first as the experiences that are documented are EXACTLY what happened to me last Friday...made appointment for 1:00pm by 3:00 they had not even taken my car out of the parking space to get the 2 tires I needed nor could they tell me what time they could take it nor were they the least bit apologetic for the awful service...plus I agree with how understaffed (and badly staffed by the few that are there) and disorganized it is when you walk in and can't get anyone to even pay attention or wait on you--it's a disgrace Sears would associate their name with a place like this as I have had decent experiences at their other auto centers but this one should just close for good and call it a day!! read more

I would give them 0 stars, if possible. I dropped my car off to get a brake evaluation and was told I just needed to get my front ones fixed. I dropped it off first thing in the morning and it was done within 3 hours. Okay, great. And oh by the way we broke one of your hubcaps.... The next day I went to get a state inspection done. Guess who actually needs the back brakes done as well? I call them to ask what happened and why I wasn't informed about the back ones also needing to be being replaced. The response was, "oh, we're just saving you money..." The gentlemen offers to let me bring it back in the next day and they won't charge me for another brake evaluation. I JUST paid for that the day before. I bring it in first thing in the morning again and was told they'd give me a call when it was ready to be picked up! Why I went back to them I'll never know. I waited in the mall for 5 hours. Nobody called me and I was getting antsy. I gave them a call and was told my car wasn't even there... I told them I had dropped it off that morning and just needed some new pads. The gentleman on the phone asks me okay, well what do you want me to do about it? I asked to speak to a manger, he's not here, you can call back later and he hung up on me. Great. I decide to walk over and see what was happening. My car was sitting in the front of the store waiting for me. I should've checked sooner. I go inside and ask how long it's been there. Turns out it's been sitting there for 2 hours and no one called. I asked why. "Oh, somebody probably went home and didn't call you" The customer service here is mind boggling. I asked to speak to the manger. He's still not there, but they can take my money while I wait. Heck no. I waiting for about 30 mins for a manger who then tells me I'm insensitive because the person who forgot to call had a family emergency. Sorry to hear that, but does no one else work here? I let him know about the problems I had the last time I was here and he just shrugged. I was told I should've told them the first time I was there that I wanted the back ones done! I'm not a mechanic. I know nothing about brakes on cars. I ask what he can do for me because he's now wasted my time and provided terrible service. He said the other guy gave me a discount. He gave me $5 off. I tell her that is unacceptable and he gave me 10%. Whatever. I hand over the payment. It processes and he walks away from me. I still don't have my keys. He comes back and says I took care of your car and took your money, what else do you need? My keys, my dude. WORST POSSIBLE PLACE TO EVER BRING YOUR CAR. TURN BACK WHILE YOU STILL CAN. read more

It's a shame to provide such a negative review, especially since I've gone to Sears Automotive for years. I've purchased my tires from this one since Sears replaced Montgomery Wards in the location. Last Spring I got new tires, and got a Sears alignment at the same time. 8 months later, in spite of the car tracking properly when driving, the new tires were shot. I got about 8000 miles out of them. Sears was good about it and gave me a substantial discount on the replacement tires, but I still ended up out the second install price and about $40 of each tire. I wrote it off and moved on. Perhaps I had managed to knock both front tires out in the prior eight months, in spite of going 100,000 prior miles with no alignment problem. I had four tires replaced on another car that same week, still giving them the benefit of the doubt. Had an alignment done. I had this other car in for service at my local mechanic, and when I picked the car up he alerted me to a potential problem -- the steering wheel wasn't straight and it didn't track perfectly. He saw the tool marks indicating a recent alignment and thought I'd do well to have it reviewed. Now I'm getting a little concerned about the service. Stopped into Sears, three hour wait, drove to NTB down the road instead. NTB reviewed the alignment and indicated that all four wheel were incorrect, the front very much so. He too recognized the tool marks, and asked if the alignment had a warranty period. I opted to have NTB do an alignment instead, as at this point I had lost faith in Sears Automotives ability to do the job. NTB charges $130 instead of Sear's $80, but it's guaranteed for a year instead of six months, which seems a wise thing to have at this point. I returned to Sears where they refunded my money after kind of indicating that NTB was lying, was incompetent, overpriced, and then that I was lying. No direct accusations, just the BS that customer service managers use to sow doubt and chase you off. I decided to cut my losses, listen to the lecture and leave. Long story short -- I'm out about $260 at this point due to Sears not being able to do the job properly the first time on two separate vehicles, and I have another alignment to reassess. Extra trips to Sears and waiting in line. The fact that the same error happened twice over an extended period of time indicates an institutional problem to me. I don't have time to deal with it, and I don't need the doubt hanging over me. It's a shame to have to go somewhere else after years of service. read more

Was in town from New York when my car started making really strange noises and jerking when accelerating. I needed to get back home but wanted to make sure the car was safe enough to get back to NY to my regular mechanic. It was a Sunday so most places were closed or booked up. I got to the Sears auto center right when it opened, explained the situation, and asked for a diagnosis. They told me it would be about an hour. Just about an hour later they called me over. The mechanic said my car had almost no oil in it, even though my car was only 25 miles overdue for an oil change. He had changed the oil and test driven the car. The noises/jerkiness were gone and they didn't charge a dime. Really nice people, great customer service, pleasant experience. I go to Annapolis often and will make it a point to give them business. read more

Tricky language deception by salesperson, Jack at Annapolis Sears Auto. Yes, the computer screen he uses does state "2 hours" length of time for new tires to be installed and I was a walk in. But what Jack is NOT REVEALING is that the 2 hours have NOTHING to do with reality. He's been working there for years (revealed for other reason), so he knows what the truth is. At the very least, he cleverly omits stating an estimate of when the work will begin and then when you come back to collect at the time he suggests, it begins: "Another hour." "Another hour." "Another ...!" I and two other customers had to wait MANY hours for our vehicles. Jack ended up being aggressively defensive with us when we calmly but firmly rebuked his clever use of language (and the computer screen!) to deceive. My car ended up last served and I was checked out WELL AFTER THE STORE CLOSED. PLUS, driver door interior/exterior had black hand marks all over. I suspect that Sears forces the auto employees to take all walk-ins and our jobs get tacked on to the numerous appointed jobs for the day. Bad policy Sears. BAD! read more

Even if you do have an appointment they will pick and choose who goes first or maybe it's just that I'm a male and not a female being that I arrived at 2:40pm for my appointment that was schedule for 3:00pm but as soon as this young lady came in 20 minutes after me as a walk in without an appointment had her car serviced before me and I'm still here waiting for my car to be serviced been waiting for an hour now and my car is still parked out front in the same spot I parked in what's the point of making an appointment if you still have to wait very poor customer service read more

PERFECTION! This Sears saved my life too many times to count. I have had a number of issues checked at their shop and each time I was satisfied with my service. When you visit, remeber to request Devin, he is THE MAN. I am a woman that doesn't know the first, second, third or last thing about a car so his help and guidance was ever so needed. I have had an inspection, oil change, balance and rotation done here. I bought my tires at this store and they have been replaced/repaired a number times due to inclement weather and my mediocre driving skills. I have continuously received excellent service and I am not willing to go anywhere else. Never ever ever ever going back. Loyal Sears customer for 30 years, but this Auto Center simply doesn't have the staff, bandwidth or patience to function like a real business, let alone a reliable Sears. They lost our whole family's business. Buying tires and having them installed was a three-day process, and still they didn't hold to their word. We were told Monday to come back Tuesday at 3 for install. Fine. We came back Tuesday at 3, after two hours they admitted they didn't have the staff to do it, can I leave car overnight. They PROMISED it would be done at 10 a.m. the next day. But the next day, car hadn't been touched. This took another three hours, car done almost at 1, after staff snapped at me, explaining they are down three technicians, meanwhile, one technician sat in showroom listening to music when I wasn't looking. Finally pitched in to help the lone technician on duty. Nope. Never again. This place is understaffed, mismanaged and gives zero figs. read more

Awful service, bad attitude.complained to Sears online about the service and got zero response. Bought a set of 4 Goodyears a number of years ago....not a big deal - tires came with lifetime balancing and when I took the car in a few months later and dropped it off was told that it would be a couple of hours - went to Mall and shopped and then rerturned to pick car up........long line to retrieve keys to get out of there.........note - I owed nothing for this service - but salesmen were busy upselling customers and did not have time to deal with folks who were picking up cars. After 45 minutes of waiting and watching customers dicker with salesmen over tire prices I popped a cork and insisted on my keys being handed over to me........I still am trembling over the ineptitude of that experience......the place is a total JOKE - AVOID..........see my review of Tires Plus on Hudson street there's a well run business! read more

This sears auto center is poorly managed, and customer service is terrible. I paid 50 dollars for an oil change and 15 for tire rotations. It took them about 2 hours to complete. After shopping for about 1 hour and a half, i came back and watched them work on my vehicle from a large glass window room. They had totally skipped the rotation. I had to inform the employee when he handed me over the keys that I had paid for a rotation. That took another 30 minutes. If I hadn't been there watching, I would of paid for nothing! read more

Poor customer service, rude and uncaring, over charged for services I didn't request, took 4 hours to put on new tires, and at the end of the day, when I left having paid over $450 and angry, they didn't apologize, say thank you or anything else. I especially want to thank Anthony Jones for his honesty in the servicing of my 2013 Avalon hybrid.He suggests what should be serviced at maintenance time and will physically look at items if they need replacement or not.A service tech made comment that my cabin air filter needed replacement.Anthony went out to my car and showed me it was fine.Thank you Anthony for your honesty.Also another time a service tech told me my tires needed replacing.Anthony went out and did the "penny check"and told me they were still good.I did however replace them about 2yrs later.Thank you again Anthony for your honest insight. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. This is by far the worst repair/tire shop I've ever had an experience with! Every time I've been in there the employees act like I'm wasting their time. I purchased a set of tires online at Sears.com and had them mounted and balanced at this location. I've gone back 3 times to have the tires rebalanced and they kept telling me they were all balanced. I continued to have a vibration at highway speeds so the last time I took it there they said the rim was bent. Before I spent a bunch of money on a new rim I took it to Koons Toyota for a second opinion. Turns out one of the tires wasn't balanced properly! I will never do business there again and will never recommend this place to any friends or family members. Stay away! read more

The low reviews here are true. This location is AWFUL. Nasty customer service by the people in the front who yell and snap at you the customer and don't provide solutions. I had a Sears Auto Center coupon that specifically said it expires 12/31/2018. That's 9 months in the future. They couldn't get it to work. And these two winners became nasty. Then, I also had the Sears Auto Center frequent oil change rewards card. These two people insisted they had never seen that before, questioned me on where did I get this, etc (I got it right here in October). These two people were as nasty as they could be. I said enough with this and walked out. I called the Marley Station Sears Auto Center and asked the guy on the phone about the frequent Oil Change card and if they still accepted it, and he immediately responded back YES. So what is up with the Clown Show at Annapolis Sears Auto Center? If you like dealing with Nasty Women and Mean Men who treat customers like trash, this is the place for you.
