My first experience with Searcy cinema 5. When you first come in it was a bit confusing where to pick up your on line ticket. I didn't see anything explaining it but I figured it out and got popcorn and a drink while picking it up, yes, you pick up your tickets at concessions. Went to the theater which was small. It was set up for a 3-d showing so all the ads and pre movie showings had the top of their heads cut off. When the movie started it was in letterbox because the screen wasn't big enough. Also the movie's sound wasn't loud enough, some dialogue was muffled and you could hear other movies playing through the projection room. It was my first time there so if I do go there again I'd be sure not to watch a 3D movie since the screen isn't the right size for them. read more

Too expensive to make me watch the same ad reel twice in a row. Movie still wasn't playing half an hour after the posted time. Honestly, I've been having bad experiences here for years. Won't be coming back, until the next movie I want to see but don't want to drive to LR for I guess. Obviously you're not supposed to bring food & drinks into the theater, but who wants to pay that much for candy when you can get it cheaper at the store? Anyways... We brought in a small bag with 2 drinks and some candy, and the lady who takes tickets tried to search our bag. YOU CANNOT DO THAT!!! She said that "it's not private property" like huh? it's my bag tf? She also gave us all dirty looks and acted like we're stupid. We took the bag back out and tried to get our money back because that totally ruined our mood, but they don't accept refunds. So we watched the movie anyway even though we were pissed off. This place is in dire need for a remodel. My first impressions were that the place looks abandoned, straight out of the 90s. Although the reclining seats are comfortable, the screens are small and the cinema doesn't get dark. The audio is so low you can hear everyone around you, making it hard to concentrate. Towards the end of my movie on of the speakers started to make crackling noises. Overall, the place needs some serious TLC as this town would benefit from a nice theater. read more

This review is a little skewed coming from a NYC girl; my friend said that this theater sucks because she's used to better quality for the price in other towns. For me, I'm just amazed that I can buy $11.25 for "VIP" reclining seats. The screen is not the biggest, but it's perfectly sufficient for watching a movie. I saw Aladdin here recently with VIP seating and I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could pick my seats when I bought the tickets at the concession stand. (Yes, unfortunately there are no automatic kiosks so you have to go up to the concession stand to buy tickets). The reclining seats were very comfortable and roomy. I thoroughly enjoyed my Aladdin experience. I saw The Lion King recently - on the second day that it came out - and was surprised to find that the 6:30 VIP seats were all sold out by 6pm. We bought the $10.25 normal tickets for the 7pm show instead, which are first come first serve. The concession stand person said that the theater was open, but the ticket lady said that the theater would be open around 6:45-6:50 and didn't let us in. We came back at 6:40 and it turns out the theater had been open for a while; most of the seats were taken. When the movie started, I was really disappointed to find that the surround sound wasn't working at all; everything was below 1/4 volume and all the songs were much less powerful because of it. I could actually hear all the background noise around me. Overall, I would still come back since it's a 3 minute drive from me, but I would definitely get the VIP seats every time. read more

it was terrible. we got popcorn and it tasted awful then when we told staff where the manager was and she was on her phone (Hailey) and she didn't look up or ask if we needed anything she was playing on her phone. so we talk to her about the popcorn and she said we couldn't get a refund but we could've if we came before the movie started but we didn't want to since we didn't want to miss the movie. after that we dropped the conversation and her friend (didn't get her name) said a snarky mocking reply and did a rude fake mocking laugh then they called US disrespectful. fix and fire your bad staff (also roaches and spiders were seen.) read more

We are new to the area, purchased 2 Pop Corn buckers that are refillable for a fee. we purchased the buckets with the buckets costing $20.00 each but they we refillable for 2 years, ours we purchased in April 2022 and on Aug 6 for the 4 PM movie we were informed they no longer honored as of today due to the new buckets having arrived. We ask how much for the new buckets , they also were $20.00 each. we spoke with the manager and were informed that the owner was "set in his ways" no apology , no refunds, this is the way it is. not even a i'm sorry. This place does not even deserve one star. Online reserving of seats is pointless if it doesn't tell you which seats are recliners and which are stadium. Then the manager shines his phone light in your faces screaming that everyone needs to check their tickets for the correct seat. And to top it off the manager yelled at everyone at the end of End Game that there was NOT an end credit scene when we all knew there was a sound bite that we all wanted to hear. We stood on the side to wait for it. My husband proceeded to tell him how crappy that was and that we wouldn't be back and he said he didn't want us there anyway. Not very professional. What a disappointment. We tried going to see a matinee and the lines were out the door for concessions. Then I found out that the concessions were the only place to purchase your ticket! It was 2 min before the movie played and we were still in the concession line to buy our tickets! Terrible system. We ended up leaving with very disappointed kids. Searcy needs a better theater. read more

The theater is small but has a good list of movies. The staffs are friendly but not very efficient. You have to wait in the same line that sells ticket and snacks. And during busy times, I waited 30 mins just to get my tickets. The screen always has a green tint for some reason. The recent Dr.Strange movie had a green tint through out the entire movie. To a movie that's heavily relying on visual effect, it was a terrible experience. read more

Hi. One worker I met was very helpful and kind, and she asked where I was from and valued my current life purpose of writing a book about the scientific evidence of creation and the Global Flood. The owner/manager was very informative and helped me catch a couple trailers I would have missed after the credits. Small and quaint, but plenty of seats from which to choose. read more

Theater looks old and needs updating. Won't give you a container to share a large popcorn. Concession prices are too high.

This theatre is in need of so many updates. We went there this past weekend to see revenant thinking It would at least be in stadium seating, it was not, and there was an odor that just smelled like mildew, not pleasant. Not even good popcorn. We wont try this theatre again. read more

Every time I have tried to watch a movie here there has been something go wrong. Never mind the very outdated facilities and over dumpy feel of the place. On too many occasions the movie has started with audio and no video or video and no audio and we had to go find someone to correct it. Sometimes the movie didn't start at all and we would have to hunt down staff to notify them. Just a dump a theatre and Searcy is a big enough market to support a nice one. Somebody step in and get Searcy the theater she deserves. Please! read more
