I like the look of the shutters but can't speak of their quality. However, these doors are incredibly overpriced. Even if took 10 board feet (1 board foot = 144 cubic inches) to construct a door, at $10 /board foot that's $100 f I r the lumber. Doors starting at around $3000 is just sn astounding amount for the labor, ie assembly, milling, painting. Had seen one of their doors in the neighborhood and I stopped to inquire. Elderly woman told me she paid $9500 for 2 doors. Presumably that was including installation but possibly not.​ read more

Seaport Shutter Company has the highest quality shutters money can buy. I ordered my dream shutters from this company. I am absolutely in LOVE with my new shutters. I could look at them all day! Absolutely gorgeous products! Lauren from Seaport shutters was incredible to work with. She kindly helped me through the process of getting into the que. Overall it was well worth the wait, because the shutters have greatly upgraded my home with an unique style. I wish I would have read some of these yelp reviews prior to doing business with this company. Nice product - terrible customer service They were super nice when selling the door, and the cost was just over $3,000+. They took a $2,800 deposit with the promise of 12 weeks for delivery. 26 weeks (six months) later we got the door. No proactive calls about delays - nothing - we had to repeatedly call. The next day after installing the door they emailed asking to hit our CC for the balance. So missing the delivery date by 14 weeks without any outbound communication but they want their balance immediately. The product is fine, looks great, but $3k gives them HUGE margin on this product. Generally, customers paying that kind of $$ for a screen door expect a little better service. When we told them they need to work on their communication to clients about extended delays their response was "....sorry you feel that way". Really? Sorry I feel that way? How about "your right, and we will try to improve, thanks for hanging in there with us". Landscapers, handymen, contractors, & the Seaport Shutter Company listen up... "Do what you say you are going to do when you say you are going to do it". Not Hard. There are plenty of other options for very similar products. So much for shopping locally and supporting our neighborhood businesses. read more

We purchased 2 Adirondack chairs and a screen door, as well has had them refinish our existing front door. The products are wonderful and the customer service is terrific. There was a need for some follow up work on our existing front door (not their fault, it's an old door and had cracking in it that needed to be re-addressed) and they sent out a wonderful painter who redid the door, all at their expense. I have used Seaport in the past because they are highly reliable and make high-quality and beautiful hard goods. Presently, I need to have a double door made and reached out to them for a quote. I spoke with their rep who asked me to send a picture of what I am looking for. She assured me she would get back to me but I never bothered to respond, even after leaving 4 messages/vms. I am disappointed and assume that it's too small an order, but I would have appreciated a call back at the very least. read more

We love our new Seaport Shutter Company screen door. Lauren was terrific to work with and assisted me in choosing my Benjamin Moore Grand Entrance paint color. Claret Rose was a bold choice and she encouraged me to go for it. I am so happy I did! The screen door and my front portico entrance are absolutely stunning! The installation team was prompt and efficient and the touch up paint where the old storm door was is just perfect. Most importantly, Lauren and install team made it happen on the morning of a neighborhood outdoor gathering and my new screen door enhanced our other recent renovations to our home and landscape. The door itself is nice looking but it is definitely not worth the minimum amount of $2800 that they charge. It took months longer than the projected date to get our door. Seaport immediately charged us $2200.00 as a "deposit" which is a questionable practice since there is basically no incentive for them to get back to you with their product. Which is why I believe it took so long to get our door made because they basically had most of the payment before it was built. The door also does not close properly and was installed with small scratches on the paint next to the door handle.)Pretty shady. I would not recommend them. read more

A Dream Come True... I have always wanted a "cottage by the sea" and what better way to celebrate that purchase but with a 'Seaport Shutter Company' screen door to capture that cool breeze by he sea. This Company DOES NOT stand behind their products as advertised. We had a very expensive sign made from them and it did not hold up to their claims! Paint is peeling and they want us to pay $400.00 for repair plus we would have to pay for shipping. They don't return calls and they apparently are not very reputable! I do not like to review a business unless I have wonderful things to share. That said, it is with great disappointment that I feel I must write this negative one. We bought 6 Adirondack chairs in 2001. When we sold the house in 2016, the buyers bought them. In the fifteen years, the chairs were outside 12 months a year and only the last year did they need to be repainted. We moved to new house and bought 6 more chairs. If you are reading this you know the chairs are pricey. Delivered on time, however the workmanship was not up to their standards. I called with detailed information and also took pictures. The issues were areas of the chairs had primer only, two good size nicks on the arms and three, at least, large bubbles in the paint, loose slats, and obvious nail heads. Response was good. Some one would pick up the chairs in the Fall and fix everything. Chairs delivered in early summer and there begins the reason for aone star rating. I called and emailed Seaport Shutter, saying problems were the same, chips and bubbling of paint and some nail heads visible. "No problem, we will pick up the chairs". That was 10 months ago. No pick-up, no answers to other emails. I would consider myself a pretty good customer. 12 chairs is a hefty investment. I guess that does not matter, and so, I will do what I have to do when someone asks about my comfortable chairs. "Don't buy". I will not be responsible for recommending a business who doesn't value my loyalty and has proven they will not stand behind the product. We love our new door - I do agree that it is tough to be charged the full amount and then wait 12+ weeks for it to be done....but now that it is installed, I think it was worth the wait. The door cost about the same as a high-end, custom painted aluminum storm door and is much more unique. The nautical cut-out is the perfect touch to the front of our summer home. I purchased two custom wood doors two years ago . One of them never worked well and after two years I called 8 times finally got someone live and they told me for them to. Come to my home it would be extra which I was willing to pay , they never showed !!!!! I tried to reconfirm left 3 messages and never received a call back. I never thought I'd be taken for a ride by a screened door. Being that it is Valentine's Day I can admit it, it was love at first sight - the aesthetics were perfectly Cape Cod, the ads clever, and the sales pitch - "Combining the finest materials and age-old carpentry techniques, our products are made to stand the test of time, endure the passing seasons and years, and evoke the nostalgia of days gone by. Whether you're battening down the hatches for the impending storm or enjoying the classic "thwack" of the old screen door slamming shut, our products are sure to transport you back to a simpler time when quality materials and craftsmanship were combined to yield a great product." believable. And even though my husband thought we were crazy for spending so much on two screened doors, I rationalized the cost - it was an investment - giving us peace-of-mind in having a durable product and supporting our own "Cape Cod' community. Sadly though, it was a really bad decision. From the beginning they were trouble - never fitting properly, discoloring and peeling. Just one problem after another. To be fair, initial efforts were made to try and correct the continuous issues (sanding off the bottom, rehanging them, taking them completely down and repainting them, etc.) The owner even came by one day and carried one of our doors back the shop. In spite of this, they basically remained "lemons" - still never closing properly (no matter what the weather conditions) and having the paint continue to peel. We finally gave up calling when we were told again by Seaport Shutter there were no issues with the doors. That said, even as of a month ago, we couldn't get the front screened door to close and took pictures to show these doors just didn't live up to all the good advertising dollars Seaport Shutter has spent. Now, one of the doors is shattered - hanging from the frame with the rest laying all over our front yard - a reminder of the most recent storm. What a disappointment and waste of dollars! We expected more from this purchase and cannot believe what we spent for the end result. After reaching out to the owner again, here is the response we received: - Seaport Shutter: It's basically an insurance related thing for you now. Me: Can you imagine having to file an insurance claim for a screened door? That says it all right there, they cost way too much money for the product you will be getting. - Seaport Shutter: Make sure those doors are good and shut when you leave for the season. Me: We tried, but the door wouldn't shut, no matter how hard we pushed to close it. Word to the wise - Stop yourself now - Don't invest in these doors! They will break your heart. read more
