It almost brings tears to my eyes to compare how great these folks used to be to the awful provider they've become. I have referred countless customers to them over the years and now I regret it. For years I leased a DSL line (which Seanet resells via CenturyLink) together with a domain name redirect and two mailboxes. I began experiencing big problems with my DSL line in mid-June of this year. The line was down 70 to 80 percent of the time, at random intervals throughout the day and night. Over the course of the subsequent two weeks I was constantly bugging the Seanet technical team trying to get them to help me. They essentially told me that until I could PROVE to them that it wasn't a problem with my equipment or my in-house wiring they could not generate a trouble ticket with CenturyLink. They said nearly unbelievable things like, "You might have jiggled a wire loose when you moved the phone connector," or (get this one), "Lots of things can cause wiring to go bad - even expansion and contraction of your house." (Yes, I was in utter disbelief as well!) I tried to tell them that I did phone wiring as a career for about ten years and would know if I had a wiring problem but they would not hear of it. Finally, I disassembled all my equipment and took the modem outside to the demark and plugged it in there - no small task, especially in the rain. Same behavior. At that point Seanet grudgingly relented and generated a trouble ticket with CenturyLink. I thought my troubles might be over, but in fact they were just beginning. CenturyLink called (one of those monotone bot calls) the day before their appointment to confirm they would be out the next day between 1 and 5. Yes, you guessed the punchline, they never showed and they never called. The next day I called Seanet to report that CenturyLink had missed its appointment the previous day, only to be told sorry but they have no control over what CenturyLink does and doesn't do. The technician even said that CenturyLink makes him angry sometimes as well, but there was nothing he could do. I'm thinking, "Guys, you are reselling someone's product as your own. You have to do a better job of supporting it." That was the tipping point for me. Imagine: Someone so upset with a company's customer service that they decide to switch to Comcast. That's how dissatisfied I was. But wait; there's more! On June 28, I called Seanet to cancel my DSL line, which, keep in mind, had not been working reliably since June 14. On the same day I called to cancel I received my monthly bill from Seanet charging me for DSL service through July 13. I respectfully requested they not charge me for that month because, well, because I hadn't in fact received the service. They actually had the gall to tell me that CenturyLink requires 30 days' notice on DSL cancellations and that they were not willing to bear that cost, despite the fact that they had not provided the service I was paying for. The following is an excerpt from Seanet's reply: "Per our conversation regarding a credit for June, I am just letting you know that the 30 cancellation notice is required there is no leeway with this. This is a standard practice with all carriers. I understand your frustration but there is no way around it." So, I guess somehow I was supposed to know 30 days in advance that my DSL line was going to fail so I could cancel it in time not to get billed for it. I didn't know whether to take them to small claims court over this or just save myself the stress and move on. I have chosen the latter. But my message to all those out there considering using Seanet: Just say no. read more

So horrible. Unless you like calling and being automatically placed on hold....only to find out they aren't even open? That's right, even though it's a weekday afternoon, no one is even in the office. It's you and a repeating message "Your call is very important to us, thank you for staying on the line." I see I'm not the only long-time Seanet customer who's getting rock-bottom service from a once-great local company. I must have joined in the early 1990s so that's 20+ years. Customer service and support are almost nonexistent, like two or three bored, indifferent people run the whole thing. For webmail, the only thing that's changed in their UI in the dated photo of the models using Seanet. Otherwise, it's the clunkiest, most unforgiving access imaginable. For no good reason I get locked out of my account when the system won't accept my password. Tech support sends an email in the morning basically saying, "we dunno; must be a software problem at your end." If it exists at all, management is utterly indifferent to complaints. Re webmail the guy said, "Well, it's not really meant to be used for email. Use a resident client..." Not meant to be used for email...? Compared to Seanet, Comcast's webmail is the cutting edge. Seanet has become D- provider. Looking to change. read more

We signed up for their 3 play bundle some almost a year ago. Since then, we have had very very infrequent usable phone service. In the beginning - for about 3 months, we sounded under water. We had to resort to our cell phones, which the SEANET techs freely utilized. In the last 1-2 months, we couldn't receive any calls at all. The phone won't ring - it immediately goes into VM. People, friends and family with emergencies cannot call us on the VOIP phone. We have to be reached by cell phones. The equipment that they were supposed to supplied are non-existent (you buy your own) or sub-standard, partly contributing to the non-existent/bad technical service. On top of the bad/non-existent technical service, their accounts, customer service, administrative departments are not reachable at all. The only contact number goes into technical support (who seems to have their hands tied by the administrative departments), who are not allowed to route the phone to the other departments. If not for the 2 yr contract, we won't be continuing with them. But how long can we withstand 2 years of paying for non-service (except for the directv, part of the 3 play bundle)? We might be able to break the contract for non-delivery of service. What a hassle. Won't go with them in the future. read more

About 3 months ago, when SEANET introduced their 3-play bundle - sort of similar to COMCAST, we signed up for the service. Despite the immediate signing of the paperwork, the service is just now being rolled out to us. For the initial flavor of the service, our phone has been dead for 5 days now except for a short period of time when we could make and receive calls, only to have the party at the other end not hearing us and the line going dead every few seconds. Even their techs told us to talk to them with our cell phones. Our Internet was down for a couple of days, and we had to buy our own device (their ad said that they would supply the equipment, and contract said that the equipment are on loan) to get the Internet to work temporarily. Now, the Internet supposedly 'works', with a unknown wait time for a website to load. The techs seem to be ill-equipped or trained to handle the technology (They have one very good tech, but has his hands tied because the Provisioning Dept refuses to supply the necessary equipment to try to make the DSL/phone line work.) This bundle thing teams up with Qwest, which is infamous for no service and made-up charges in their billings to their customers. Qwest refuses to render any service, claiming that we are not their customer (Thanks goodness!), but SEANET's customer. SEANET is supposed to get their bundle-partner, Qwest to supply us with decent DSL service. The DSL line is not working, and SEANET tech seems not to be able to persuade Qwest to co-operate. In fact, the Qwest tech came out to snipped off the wires of the DSL and phone services we had with them. In the process, he damaged the equipments we bought a few months earlier from Qwest. We tried to resolve the issue with SEANET management, and the techies told us that they couldn't give out the names or phone numbers of their management. Phone calls left with a low level management (call transferred by tech), were not returned. So, we are hitting a stone wall, seemingly without recourse. We are not able to use the phone or Internet for days now, putting our business, professional and personal lives at risks. We have to resolve this problem or seek restitution. So, be forewarned if you are considering SEANET bundle or any Qwest service. read more

First of all, any reputable ISP or hosting company would provide 24x7x365 technical support. This company does not. They only provide support during THEIR normal business hours. And forget getting any administrative updates done over the weekend without scheduling them in advance. (Yes, scheduling them in advance - even if you have a problem.) I don't know if our account is an odd situation but we can't maintain our own email accounts (e.g. add new accounts on any sort of email plan) from our control panel. We have to call their tech support in order to do this. We can't update DNS information from the control panel; we have to call tech support. The other day, I actually tried calling Seanet tech support for over an hour and got a voice mail response each time - in the middle of the day! Unfortunately, I couldn't leave a message as the tech support mailbox was full! Really? I finally called a Seanet sales person (they answered, of course) and told them their tech support was not reachable. The guy literally had to walk over to their tech support department to get them to start answering the phones. Don't even get me started on the fact that their "Live Chat" link on their home page as NEVER worked in the several years I've had to do business with this company. We're moving to a different provider and recommend you stay away from this company. read more
