It's a cute, homey pub with a friendly female bartender. I had a Sprite, Mom had a Beamish, and we talked with the bartender. She suggested we speak with the owner, Neil, who was across the street at his butcher shop. (He was helpful and I appreciated that he took the time to talk with two random American women who popped in on him!) There was a good selection of beers, wines, and spirits. I'd love to see Clifford's Bar during the evening when it's more conducive to the bar crowd, but we still had a nice experience!

Upon entering I was impressed by the somewhat typical Irish pubness of the bar, but yet it had a cool style all of its own that sets it apart from all other Irish pubs. Venturing further back, we had the back room reserved off to the left, but more on that later. It was out to the coolest beer garden in County Cork, nay in Ireland. It's on two level, the back wall made up of the shell of an older building. Picnic tables a plenty, because the beer garden also has a food truck. A most excellent food truck called The Field Kitchen. We had stuffed mussels and fish n chips. Both excellent. Later as the night drew in we retreated to our reserved room, which had a handy window into the bar and wood burner in the corner. We revelled the rest of the night away, retailing each other of the great wedding the night before. It was a great weekend, which was enhanced ten fold by our party in Blackbird.

It's a bustling little spot and we got the last table for two in the spot. They were full of families, friend groups, and couples--they definitely have a broad appeal. And, I can see why. It lacked caramelization with both the apples and the topping. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be? Apples just need to be cooked down a bit to get the optimal texture and color. All in all, this is a good place for a quick meal.

The steamed carrot/potato/broccoli wasn't anything special. Best part of the meal by far: dessert. As soon as I saw the menu, I knew I would be ordering the blue cheese brownie with fudge sauce + praline ice cream. I mentioned to the server that I liked blue cheese and she offered to have the chef ADD more cheese to my brownie. Whoa that is very accommodating but I think the normal amount of blue cheese in my dessert will be fine. When it arrived, the brownie was amazing, decadent, fudgy, smooth...if smelly cheese + chocolate is wrong, I dont want to be right. Ended up back at the Seahorse when our friends got to town for drinks. The place is really relaxed and has a nook with tables that was nice for our big group to sit together and chat over pints. The servers were extremely nice, checking in and keeping drinks full. If I am ever back in Tramore, I'll definitely have a meal and a drink at the Seahorse again.

If you have a choice, grab the table by the window -- you can listen to the music and watch people stroll by outside. There's a selection of 6 beers on tap, plus bottles, liquor and even a few wine choices. What more could you want?
