They are TVs showing traditional games and plenty of seating at the bar as well as outside of the bar. The restrooms are typical of the pubs, very small with tiny sinks, so be prepared. I would consider this another traditional pub, with a twist of Americano and European . I can certainly understand that they would be busy on popular nights if not most nights, and the ambience would be loud but expect greatness from this place

The bar is fairly small with most of the tables for 2-4 people so it's probably not well suited for big groups. If you have a choice, grab the table by the window -- you can listen to the music and watch people stroll by outside. There's a selection of 6 beers on tap, plus bottles, liquor and even a few wine choices. What more could you want?

I returned to this drinking hole for the first time since the place has switched to a new younger ownership, 2nd lot after Collette sold the place on after Finbarr died. I had only 2 G&T's in the place and tried to order a third drink unknown to me that it was a little late. There is a bell system in place to try and get the attention of the staff. I guess due to the day that was in it (Tuesday) only Donal was behind the Bar. He did respond to the bell call and after some time arrived and with an attitude that can only be described as "Confrontational". I asked for another order "G&T" only to be informed it was now after time, ("not called or informed about") and that it was not going to happen. This is in the lounge with only 2 other people in total there, one of whom had also requested to be served. I asked why the refusal and received the lame explanation still from a confrontational "Donal that he had been running the tills cashing up". I asked then as to why he could not have done that after hours and instead looking after paying customers? This is when thing's went a bit "Pete Tong" (wrong) and Donal started being threatening and informed me that I would not be served and I was now barred and told to get out or be thrown out. I did say that he was a "**** up and should look after paying local customers, instead of trying to throw them out & barring them" after which I did leave the premises eventuality in my own time. There is no way that fool ("Donal") could beat me out the door on his own or should be working behind the bar; he sure has a bad personality and attitude problem. At the end of the day this no longer a pleasant or nice place to go to and should not be supported or visited by Carrigaline locals or any body at all. The staff and current management are ignorant and arrogant and do not have a notion of how to respect or be of service to the people who should be invited into the Bar and Lounge. It is totally set up for a small group of people and cronies who are close to the current management who cannot manage and do not have the skills to do so. Despite all the alterations in the lounge with the addition of Dart Boards, (the only thing that is of merit) in general the only clientele I saw in the Lounge area playing pool were some local druggies. Easy to spot; because their hyper attitude, ratty diluted eyes and lack of alcohol drinks present or any other drinks apart from a shared bottle of water. But back to the main point of this message; do not support this shit hole of a Bar there is little that can be kindly said about the current Management or Arrogant Aggressive Staff. The toilets are disgusting, the worst I have ever seen and still are; as they stink, are unclean and always flooded lacking any sense of hygiene or correct hand washing or drying facilities. Stay away from Cogans Bar and Lounge. You will be doing yourself, friends and family a big favour. There are much better drinking places in Carrigaline and near by to drink and eat in. Avoid this place if you have respect for your self, family or friends as if you could catch something real nasty.

It's a fun atmosphere with a lot of locals that seem to know the bartender and seem to know a lot of the customers. They have some chips but strictly serve only food.

We were immediately greeted and placed drink orders. I had the espresso martini. This was not your typical espresso martini it was so good and very very strong. For dinner I ordered the Guinness pie and my Friend got the seafood pie. Both were delicious but the Guinness pie was exceptional. I love to share food but did not want to share this. I wanted to savor every bite. O ate the entire pie and its was huge but so good. Couldn't pass up sticky toffee pudding and my goodness am o glad I somehow managed to find the room. One of the best desserts I've ever had so good I could've shed a tear. Can't wait to visit again.
