Told us to get the gas company out to inspect valve as it was pushing too much propane-lo and behold carbon monoxide being emitted. Got that taken care of and the crew mad sure we had our part ordered and installed in a most timely fashion well before the desired XMAS eve date. Fireplace hs much larger flames now and very clean. After a few weeks I narrowed it down to three companies and to the Trane / American Standard brands. A co-worker had recommended Manny from 1st Choice Plumbing, Air & Insulation. I contacted Manny and scheduled a consultation with him along with the other two companies. Manny came over and inspected our current systems, and we discussed options and things that he recommended. We really appreciated his experience and knowledge; he brought up some things that other AC companies did not which made us feel as though he was putting our best interest in mind. After some time, we chose to contract 1st Choice for our AC system replacement, choosing the Trane 17 SEER systems. Soon the day of installation came, and we received notification from two different crews when they were on their way (Jose & Kevin). The guys arrived and after a walk through they got started on their work. With a total of five guys working together, they were very respectful of our home, wearing booties in the house and using drop cloths and masking off with plastic our entire laundry room where the attic scuttle hole was located. All the technicians were very polite and professional in their work. Being in the residential trades all of my adult life (almost 40 years) I can tell when people are working for a check and people who truly care about their work and take pride in their work, and all five of the technicians with 1st Choice are all ones that take pride in their work. They were very efficient and completed the installation, clean up and start-up by 2 pm. Jose walked me through the systems, the new t-stats and assisted me getting it set up on the app for my phone. Jose mentioned it could take up to a day to get the systems to fully cool down the house, but by 6 pm we had the house cool down to 71. After the guys left, I went up into the attic to inspect their work and found it cleaner than when they started, the walking platforms were clean of all the dust and the work they did was top notch! Everything level, secure and organized with care, no trash or screws left behind. This is the kind of work that builds a company and makes for a great future! Our experience with 1st Choice has been nothing but stellar, from Manny, Jose, Kevin (I would mention the other tech's, but I didn't get their names) and will be recommending them each chance I get. Our older home was leaking cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter and with college kids in and out our energy bills were getting totally out of control. I did my research (the company website is very informative) and I called in to ask more questions. The sales team was a delight to work with. You know how service providers can be, not timely and you wait around for them to show up. Not the case here. They showed up for our early morning appointment right on time. The installers were very friendly and got to work right away. You have to go out for the day as the process is rather noisy but so worth it. After they were finished, everything was clean as if nothing had ever changed. Our home has stone floors and now my feet (not to mention the rest of me) stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We are always the last of our friends to turn on the heater or the air conditioner. We recently added a new air conditioner and we have seen a 42% drop in our energy bills! I make my husband take me out to dinner more often with the money we are saving. Great company, great product.

The sales rep even came out with his special measure device and couldn't find one place that had 3.5". I sent them numerous pictures also. Because the tech only sprayed about an inch the first time they came out they returned a second time and ruined the day for the other contractors I had scheduled even after telling the rep not to come out. I am now delayed on the rest of my project because of their inconsideration and NO customer service. The rep said they would discount the job since I clearly only had 1/2 the product that was promised. For a $12,000 job they took off $1000. Seems fair to deliver 1/2 the product, screw the customer over with other contractors and then discount LESS than 10%. If you want an honest job involving quality GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. If you are looking for honor and integrity go elsewhere!! You have been warned.

Within days to months of the original repair, I experienced continued leaks and had to request multiple return visits. During one of those attempts, a new leak was actually created in an adjoining room, causing additional damage to my home and furniture. I was in direct contact with the owner, Kirk, who personally came out to inspect not only the leak itself but the damage that resulted from it. He apologized and assured me the issues would be taken care of. Unfortunately, after that, communication stopped completely and all accountability disappeared. To this day, the problems were never properly resolved. I still have the correspondence, photos, and documentation to support everything stated here. Mistakes can happen with any company. What matters is how they handle them. In my experience, the lack of follow-through, integrity, and accountability is what should make potential customers think twice before hiring this company.
