Not to be dramatic, but Dina SAVED MY WEDDING, and my husband, mother, and all my closest friends wholeheartedly agree. Dina, the owner and seamstress of Sealed with a Kiss, is genuinely one of the most incredible people I have ever met in my life. Not only is she supremely talented, but she is kind, patient, and trustworthy. I purchased a custom made dress from the LA designer Cinq over a year ago and when it finally came in, it was completely, devastatingly wrong. Sizing, details, all of it. Dina retook all my measurements, explained to the dressmaker exactly what needed to be done, and when the dress came back still wrong (the dressmaker having ignored Dina's instructions) with less than a couple of weeks until my wedding, Dina literally took it apart and rebuilt it from its pieces. It was perfect. It was better and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined and it fit me like a glove. Other important things for you to know: 1. my dress was made from heritage French silk tulle and satin, everyone tells you it is impossible to find a seamstress that work with fabrics like that. You would have thought Dina was born in those materials the way she so effortlessly handled them. 2. For Dina, it was never a question of whether I was going to get my dream dress or not, she was going to make it happen. I was so gutted and discouraged by how wrong my original dress was, I was 100% ready to just scratch it and buy a new one, but instead of agreeing and selling me one, she told me she was going to make it happen, and she DID. There are very few people on this earth I think of as highly as I think of Dina. If you are within a few hours of Sealed with a Kiss, drive there. This is the seamstress you want. Figuring out your wedding dress is such an emotionally vulnerable experience and I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have had Dina as my partner throughout the process. read more

Took my dress here for alterations and they did perfectly! I had the salon to myself for my appointment. We looked at the dress together and discussed options. I wanted to add some lace along with getting it hemmed. When I came back for my second appointment she had finished the hem and pinned the lace so I could make the final decision. Scheduled an appointment for pick up which was quick and easy. Everything was great! I loved my dress but wish I would have come here first to try some things on since they were so amazing! read more

I never got around to writing this review after I purchased my wedding dress three years ago and I sadly cannot remember the names of the two women who helped me, but I still remember the feeling. The staff that worked here made me feel like I was on Say Yes To The Dress. The shop was so bright and beautiful with massive, comfortable fitting rooms and an insane about of dresses to look through. I was able to book a next day appointment with my close friend and literally walked through by myself to pull every dress I wanted to try on (which was about 15) After trying on the LAST ONE...I found the one...I can't thank this staff enough for helping me feel so catered to as a bride and finally be confident in what I was going to wear for my wedding. Not to meant it was for less than $1k with alterations and made me feel like a billion. Can not recommend enough for brides to check this store out on their quest to find the dress! read more

The staff at Sealed With A kiss were incredible from my first appointment to my last fitting. They made sure my shopping experience was perfect, and alterations were done with care and true expertise. I had a complicated dress and they were able to alter it to the point it was made just for me. Great value as well - dress costs were very reasonable. The store is kept clean, and there are cozy couches for anyone who might be joining you for fittings, etc. read more

I had an appointment for 2:30 and my group and I showed up and they were ready for the appointment. She had me pick out 3-5 dresses I personally liked to start out with and then we started trying the dresses on. After I tried those dresses on she went and found styles she thought I would like, she was very knowledgeable about the dresses (designer, style, etc.) She was very helpful and nice through every bit of the appointment. She even helped take the typical "I said yes" picture. Also, we did receive complimentary champagne for saying "yes"! My dress fit like a glove and did get to go home with it, which is awesome! I highly recommend Sealed with a Kiss to anyone looking for a dress! read more

I had a great experience here. I went to several Georgetown and DC area shops but was disappointed in selection, and the small sizes they have to try on. (I am 6'1 and dress size 12) Most of the dresses at other stores were so small I couldn't tell what they would look like or in some cases, I couldn't even get them on. I decided to come to sealed with a kiss, as my sister purchased her gown here a few years ago. I worked with Jessica, and she is the best! So kind and helpful. They had a great selection and I was able to try on everything that I wanted to. Definitely recommend coming here and working with Jessica! read more

I had such a wonderful experience there!!! I needed straps for my wedding dress and was able to find exactly what I needed. Jessica was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

Beautiful dress, the staff is nice enough, but pricey! The dress I tried on and ended up buying fit me like a glove; however, the one that showed up 7 months later was big on me. I didn't lose any weight from the original date to the arrival of the dress. The same thing happened to two of my friends with their bridesmaid dresses. I had limited options for alterations as well since I was down to only a few weeks before my wedding by the time the dress came in. The cost of alterations ended up being a third of the original cost of the dress. After speaking with the owner, she tried to do right by covering part of the alteration costs out of pocket. I wanted to support local business and get the small shop experience, but my wallet sure took a hit. If you're willing to spend the money, go for it, but it definitely ended up being more than anticipated. read more

I had a great experience at Sealed With A Kiss in Charlottesville! This was my first time trying on wedding gowns and it went better than I could have ever imagined. I went there with the mindset of just trying on dresses and seeing what style I liked, but of course I fell in love with the first dress I put on and ended up coming back to it after I tried on 10+ more gowns (and got it!!). They were very mindful of my budget and what I was looking for! Susan was more than helpful and very kind/accommodating to my mom and grandparents who came with me. We even did a celebratory toast after I said "yes to the dress!" They made the experience so much fun! I can't wait for my dress to be here! read more

Run away, do not stop here! This shop preys on the young and emotional bride. They will pressure you into a sale and offer no support for any problem. They are not concerned with creating a happy bride, only concerned about making a sale. Be on guard if you have no other options but my advice is take your business elsewhere! read more

HORRIBLE customer service and overall experience. They were so unprofessional and made what was supposed to be a happy and exciting day extremely uncomfortable. I came in for my appointment and no one even asked me about myself, what I was looking for, and my budget. I had to pick dresses myself and was later told certain things would not fit me. They also put dresses on me even after we knew it was out of my price range. I received several snarky remarks about my weight, when I'm not even close to being overweight. Regardless of that, no bride or woman should ever be treated this way. I also felt a lot of pressure to purchase a dress that day. This was my first day of wedding dress shopping so many gowns I tried on were to get a feel for what looks best on me. Every time I commented on what I liked and didn't like about each dress, the consultant got extremely defensive and put blame on me for even wanting to try the dress on. I would never recommend this store to anyone and it honestly made me feel very discouraged to continue wedding dress shopping for the remainder of the day. read more
