Not to be dramatic, but Dina SAVED MY WEDDING, and my husband, mother, and all my closest friends…read morewholeheartedly agree. Dina, the owner and seamstress of Sealed with a Kiss, is genuinely one of the most incredible people I have ever met in my life. Not only is she supremely talented, but she is kind, patient, and trustworthy. I purchased a custom made dress from the LA designer Cinq over a year ago and when it finally came in, it was completely, devastatingly wrong. Sizing, details, all of it. Dina retook all my measurements, explained to the dressmaker exactly what needed to be done, and when the dress came back still wrong (the dressmaker having ignored Dina's instructions) with less than a couple of weeks until my wedding, Dina literally took it apart and rebuilt it from its pieces. It was perfect. It was better and more beautiful than I ever could have imagined and it fit me like a glove. Other important things for you to know: 1. my dress was made from heritage French silk tulle and satin, everyone tells you it is impossible to find a seamstress that work with fabrics like that. You would have thought Dina was born in those materials the way she so effortlessly handled them. 2. For Dina, it was never a question of whether I was going to get my dream dress or not, she was going to make it happen. I was so gutted and discouraged by how wrong my original dress was, I was 100% ready to just scratch it and buy a new one, but instead of agreeing and selling me one, she told me she was going to make it happen, and she DID. There are very few people on this earth I think of as highly as I think of Dina. If you are within a few hours of Sealed with a Kiss, drive there. This is the seamstress you want. Figuring out your wedding dress is such an emotionally vulnerable experience and I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have had Dina as my partner throughout the process.

I wanted to add some lace along with getting it hemmed. When I came back for my second appointment she had finished the hem and pinned the lace so I could make the final decision. The shop was clean and pretty but missed the warmth that should absolutely come with wedding dress…read moreshopping. The fun of shopping was not at all present at this shop. We had 5 people and the bride. Only the brides mom and grooms mom were allowed to go inside. The other 3 had to stand outside (one being the step mom and one the sister) on the sidewalk. Everyone had and wore masks and were willing ready and capable of hand sanitizing. Just not a pleasant experience - if you are dressing shopping alone or with only 1 person this is your place. Otherwise just not our cup of tea. Needless to say we purchased a gown elsewhere.

I live in Northern Virginia and am getting married next summer in Charlottesville. I visited many…read moresalons in the DC area, then finally decided to make an appointment at The One Bridal Salon. I had no idea Charlottesville even had bridal stores! The quality of service here was above and beyond anything I experienced elsewhere. My mom and I had the entire salon to ourselves! Peggie was very responsive when I initially reached out, and also when I told her I'd like to come back and try the dress on again. I ended up saying yes to the dress here and I'm so glad I did! Also a nice touch to gift me with a mini champagne bottle after purchasing. It's really the little things that make these moments so special! Highly recommend!

My sister-in-law took her wedding gown here for alterations, so I didn't protest when she took the…read moreflower girl dress I bought for her daughter to wear in my wedding there. I don't take my clothes to Heidi and I'm thankful I didn't trust her with my wedding dress after seeing what she did to the flower girl dress. We gave her a silk, J. Crew Collection dress that was too big overall for my niece. Heidi pinned the dress and I told her that we especially wanted the waist nipped in, but still wanted the skirt to be full. She also had to take the bodice in and "lift" the arm holes. The job would cost $50, which seemed a little high for a child's dress, but I realized that a job for a wedding sometimes gets a mark up. The dress we got back looked like almost nothing was done to it. The tulle petticoat, which had been fine, we now uneven and showing below the hem of the dress in certain areas. My little niece looked so sad in the dress. The alterations had taken so long that we didn't have time to order another dress and have it altered again, so we made an emergency dash to a David's Bridal and got her a dress that fit, but was nowhere near as special as the J. Crew Collection dress could have been. I was so disappointed with the work Heidi did. I will never take anything to her shop.

In reference to the other review, there is only one parking spot, but there is a parking garage…read moreacross the street (though I don't think they validate parking). I read the relatively positive reviews on Google and decided on Heidi's. The day I went in a man was waiting impatiently to pick up an item. He said this was his third time coming to pick up a jacket for his wife, this should have been my warning sign. I was honest with who I assume is the owner that this was short notice (I dropped my dress off May 17) and we went over the minor changes that needed to be done- hemming the bottom was the main item- and she said it should be ready after any final details on June 14. I went in on June 14th and she said it wasn't done. I reminded her of the deadline, she said she would call me that week. The shop never called, so I called several times on Friday but finally left a message. I gave them all of the following week to call and notify me of progress, anything to soothe my nerves. Upon calling today, and reminding them I gave them a drop dead date of June 28th, the owner said the tailoring wasn't done but she would see what she could do. Upon rereading Google reviews I have a feeling I will be overcharged due to the fact I'm "rushing" my order. I'm not exactly sure how they handle orders but I have gotten the impression they knowingly taken on more than it appears can be handled. Not to mention the several times I went in for fittings, the woman would be on the phone without acknowledging you were there and wouldn't cut her the calls to some reasonable length. I most definitely would not recommend this place.

The woman who waited on me seemed knowledgeable but she kept apologizing when I was praising her and asked several times if I wanted to talk to a manager when I told her she was doing a good job, it was odd. Then we tried two bras which seemed large to me but i was ok with it since it was a"wear around the house" situation. I had to sign and initial forms that said I was aware that all sales were final, which in and of itself is weird. I have never had to sign something at a store, leaving me to believe things have gotten ugly at some point. The bras are ok, but after wearing both for a day, they are way too big for me, something i only noticed after a few hours of wear. I have learned a lesson here, but be careful. I wear a 36 F bra and the bras I bought yesterday day are a 36H and a 36GG. I was offered the option of trying something smaller but was also told that there might be "spillage". I will never go back and the Goodwill is going to get two very nice bras. Buying bras that cannot be exchanged is not an option for most people. Also upon coming home and searching the web, both bras were available on sale, at companies that accept returns, for a lot less money. Lessoon learned.
