The off-white color made perfect sense when it sat for years in a formal living room that was rarely ever used. We have since downsized, so for about two years, this lovely sofa has received daily abuse. I called the folks at TLC Experts to see if they could help resurrect the 12 year old beast. TLC Experts are primarily known for their expert flood damage restoration work but they also provide more pedestrian services such as cleaning of carpets, oriental rugs, and battle weary sofas. A short while later a bright red and gold TLC Experts van was sitting in my driveway. Bye the way, the TLC van was spotless and shiny. That's always a good sign. A very professional young tech named Vinny was soon examining the piece, and pointing out to me various facts about my sofa, and the process he would use to bring it back to life. Vinny explained that because of the down filling, and the type of fabric, he would be using a special solution for this job. When all was said and done, the sofa looked like new to my eye. The most important result for me is that my wife was thrilled. She immediately removed "power wash the sofa" from my to-do list. Thanks TLC Experts, for a job well done. Soon I will be calling Lynn at TLC to come and do her magic on the oriental rug under my dining table.

Keith Crandall came to my home, evaluated the situation, explained in detail how they could repair and restore the damage. They stared immediately and each crew was polite and professional. I am extremely happy with the final results. I recommend this company for any repairs or remodels. They were courteous and answered every question I had, which is rare nowadays. Thanks again, guys !

Chance the owner was very timely, he assessed the damage, checked humidity levels, investigated the extent of mold, removed samples of the flooring material for further testing and coordinated with our insurance company on our behalf throughout the process. He and his team removed the old flooring and prepared the house for new floor installation. Chance also managed the sub-contractors during installation and final cleaning. In ancient Roman religion, Fides was the goddess of trust, faithfulness and good faith. Fides Restoration excels in each of those categories - a veteran owned company and a job well done! Thanks Chance!

His crew were also extremely good guys. Chance was always there to answer my text and or emails. However, the work itself was awful. Everything from the kitchen was suppose to be individually cleaned and placed into a box due to the toxicity of the fire smut. However everything was just tossed (literally) into boxes. Broken glassware among other things. Some items were just placed in random spots in the garage. I've been finding them for 4 months now. Nothing was cleaned well, most items still had the powder from the fire extinguisher. Staples were left in the wall, crown molding was damaged, paint was damaged from the tape used, and the adhesive was left on wall & floors. After everything was said and done, the toxicity test still showed an elevated level. All that being said, when I contacted a claim adjuster they said they heard of fides, and he does great work, just not for fires. Which was my experience.

I called service master and they arrived quickly, meanwhile we had help getting up some of the water with shop vac and dragging carpets out of the house. Service master set up fans and dehumidifiers which ran 4 to 5 days. The equipment was to be picked up on Saturday, but nobody showed until Monday. They took the equipment, but I just found out (Wednesday) that they did not take any moisture readings. Today I asked them to take readings and they say that the moisture is 99% and that my hardwood floors in multiple rooms need to be torn out. It's unbelievable that they did not check out the floors until after their job was supposedly completed. I have sent them away and called in another water restoration company and the company who provided/installed my hardwood floors. I am in total shock that they were so incompetent. Now they are saying they thought the floors were tile -- the floors are obviously wood throughout the house and I confirmed that with them the day they first started the work. It seems I am starting from scratch with this project - a new restoration company, another mold detection company...possibly new floors that would not have to be replaced if service master had diagnosed the situation correctly on day one.
