The Deets: The nearest big chain grocery store in the Holden Beach area is this Food Lion, back on the mainland in the shopping center at the first stoplight after coming back over the bridge from the beach (same on as Walgreens). The parking lot is usually pretty packed as this store/shopping center is a pretty busy one. The grocery store itself is pretty clean and has a good layout, but again usually pretty busy with customers. The grocery prices are pretty acceptable for a beach area and of course their Food Lion MVP cards for special prices are useable here. There is a pretty good selection of all grocery items, no visible lacking areas noted so far. There is a hot food bar available if you want to use for a premade meal to take home. The beer cooler is towards the front to the left as you walk in, pretty handy in a beach area obviously. There are staffed checkout lines as well as self checkout kiosks, and the self checkout area line actually moves pretty fast as well staff comes quickly when needed/screen signals them.
