We are new to Nova Scotia and discovered The Pork Shop a couple of months ago. We have been there…read moretwice, driving from Truro, and it is worth the drive. Their sausages are excellent and jerky products outstanding. We have bought other meat products they offer and have not been disappointed.

And not the typical king of meats, beef, but its too frequently overlooked, delicious little brother - pork. Located in good-sized building along Westville Road, The Pork Shop has a handful of large coolers packed with tons of different sausages (the usual suspects plus cool ones like donair and curry that I'd love to try), many different cuts of pork, a few types of bacon (including the all-to-rare peameal bacon), and beef and chicken for people that aren't s big of fans of pork as I am. Shelves of dry goods to go with your meat line the walls - local jams, honey, sauerkraut, etc. Their website is really great too, listing all of their carnivorous options as well as descriptions of each. Much to my own chagrin, I don't live nearby and don't have a car, so transporting meat is a bit of a hassle/major heath concern. As such, the only meat I've yet tried is my dad's favourite, their marinated capacola pork chops. Luckily for me, it's a damn fine marinade and the pork chops turn out great on the grill - even when my dad, who's infamous for overcooking chops, does them. This may have a bit to do with their hefty thickness, so they're harder to dry out entirely. The flavour is rich and peppery, and I'm guessing the red tint is from paprika since there isn't a spicy hit to them. Get these, grill them up, and openly laugh in the face of those who think beef reigns supreme. On one of my visits back I just may have to load up a cooler with ice packs and smuggle some sausage and bacon back to the city with me. PS. watch out for the horrible potholes in their gravel parking lot.

DO NOT PLACE ONLINE ORDER- THEY FAIL TO SEND AFTER COLLECTING YOUR $$$$$!…read moreOn AUG 17, 2025, I placed a large online order and was immediately billed. After failing to receive the order 30 days later, I started sending emails, inquiring about the order status. NO REPLIES. I tried posting messages on their website, where there's a messaging area, but NO REPLIES. When I check UPS Tracking, it has been in the "In transit" status since Oct. 22nd. I've waited 4 MONTHS for my order, that included all holiday presents, and still no order. Even from Canada, I would have thought that by placing my order in August, it would arrive by Thanksgiving. I understand UPS shipping delays, but the least this company can do is communicate updates with their customers. I've tried to CANCEL my order, but finally received a reply today (after posting a negative Facebook review), that they cannot process my cancellation or refund request because "the order has already shipped". But, WHERE IS IT? I really wanted to support this family-owned business, but feel like they either just neglect their online orders, or are running a scam!

I fell asleep during the pedicure. Great comfy chair, tilted back and I was given a blanket; boom! I fell asleep! Ha! And Brooke did my braid for me before we went out to dinner. Love Brooke! She did my hair last year as well. Now while mom was getting a service done I paid for 5 massages + tip money. I asked them to call mom in June for a massage then surprise her that it's all paid for. End of June rolled around and mom hasn't told me she's had a massage. I called and left a VM. Someone called me back and stated they didn't have mom's info?! What?! How is that possible when we filled out the client info sheets?! Let alone that I could have sworn that was given when I purchased the massages. Fine, here's her info. I was disappointed about that. Mom has been enjoying the massages and still loves Martha! I called in last week to book mom a spa day for her birthday which is tomorrow. When the lady asked for mom's name, I said Mary C. Oh she's the cutest thing! She's so lovely! So I'm happy to hear that she's been going in and she's so memorable. I called mom and said: your services are paid for, I hope you book the services on your birthday! Happy 76th birthday Ma! Thanks Grand Senses for being accessible for people with various disabilities and mobility devices. You are the only business that is accessible for mom and the staff are great with her!

Only $85/hr for an RMT massage, which is really reasonable, considering you get the spa experience + massage.
