We called AAA for a tow and after a short wait Shorty's showed up. It was at the height of Summer, every hotel was sold out or beyond my price range. The tow truck driver, a very nice guy says his garage could do the repair and he can help me find a hotel, which he did. When we got to the hotel he told me to stay in the truck and he would go in and talk to the clerk / owner. He told him I was in a tight spot, my car was down and I needed a place. He went to bath for me. Be outcome was me paying pennies on the dollar for a beautiful hotel room. The repair took a few days but that wasn't a problem. During the day I take a long walk along the coast, we're down to the lobster fest. At the end of the second day he said my car was already and I could walk to his garage. Again this was in the middle of the summer at the height of the season when all the locals are expected to make as much money as I can to get them through the winter. So when I got my bill I was expecting for it to be inflated. Instead it was again pennies on the dollar I was so thankful for such a nice guy doing me such a huge favor at the height of Summer.

I never feel confident that I am getting the best deal or making a good decision. For better or worse, WF has their best price listed on the window sticker and there is no negotiation. The price is very competitive and I appreciate the fact that I do not have to haggle. The staff is excellent and they have a huge inventory that you can browse without high pressure salespeople. They told me they only reset the lights despite getting an insurance payout so my insurance agreed to having wiscasset ford inspect their work and finish the repairs. Wisscasset ford took my car completely apart, as told to me by my insurance adjuster when they went out to see it but wiscasset ford told them that nothing was wrong wirh it other than wear and tear. This i knew was BS given the fact that the first shop told me they didnt do all the repairs. My adjuster told me wiscasset ford would call me. That was on a monday. Crickets. Wednesday I called wiscasset ford to be told the car was all set someone would be texting me photos. Crickets. Thursday I was on my way to get the car since I was told it was all set despite not getting any texts. So I called them to confirm my car was ready to be told it was still in pieces waiting for approval on a text they never sent. I reminded them they didn'tsend me anything. I finally got their estimate for repairs that was just under 5,000! They wanted to charge me a crazy amount for new tires for one example. The same price i paid for a Toyota Tacoma but my car is a small 4 door sedan. Knowing their prices are way too inflated and I could get it all done at a better rate and my lack of trust in them, I denied all repairs, According to them nothing was mechanically wrong with it and I knew the issue was due to the first claim. They said I could picked it up the next day. I did, and it had even more issues now than it did prior. The undergarage protector to the motor was dragging on the ground. I heard the noise but had no idea where it was coming from, but when I smelled smoke I pulled over to investigated to see it dragging on the road. I had had enough called my insurance and opened a second claim against wisscasset Ford and had my car towed to my old mechanic in NH whom I did business with for 20yrs prior to moving to maine. Thankful for Triple A premium. They did infact confirm that the first shop did not do all the repairs covered under my first claim and confirmed damage done by wiscasset Ford. My car now had mechanical damage. My insurance will be going after them for reimbursement. I have never had a shop have not just poor communication which is evident by many other reviews but did damage to my vehicle as well. I wonder if any of them are actually certified. The worst experience of my life. Avoid!

This is the quick review, simply because I want to warn others…read more The longer one is here: There is a reason this shop does not have any reviews, and that is because they seemingly have no customers. The reason they have no customers is because the level of inhumanity is stunning, even in today's world. I went for an appointment that I arranged with the owner over the phone. When I kept my appointment, even following a Nor'Easter, I was told I would need to reschedule. Was it because of the snow and Ice I had traveled 30 minutes through to get there? The pandemic that is keeping us all on alert when we have to go anywhere? No, I was told by the owner of the shop that was empty of any customers or customers' cars. It was because I was 20 minutes late and he needed to do "customer grooming," teaching customers how to behave. This is not a joke--it really happened. The shop is in a completely residential neighborhood that is many miles from anything commercial, and has no sign and no way to see it; I was going up and down the street trying to find it, and it was hard to find places to turn around each time because of the ice and snow from the storm. GPS often gives an approximate location--sometimes very approximate--and that is what happened here. This could have been avoided if in the two times I had called before the appointment--once to make it, the second time to confirm it--I had been told of the location and any sort of landmark. I am so glad that this happened at the point that it did so that I didn't let this guy touch my car. I would do anything to steer clear of anyone who thought they needed to do "customer grooming," especially to go to the cruel extent of cancelling an appointment that a customer clearly went way out of their way to make after severe weather events, and in the middle of a Pandemic. Because this was such an extraordinarily inhumane way to act, I almost didn't write a review because I thought there might actually be a mental heath problem on the part of the owner (and this is also not a joke--none of this review should be taken as a joke because it was an awful experience. There is something very off about someone who would intentionally do something cruel--there is never an excuse for that.) After ascertaining that is probably not true, I thought it was good to warn others no matter what. I would never want anyone to have the experience I did. We can each make the world a better place to be in right now, or a worse one. It's often not easy these days, for anyone, and we need to be able to rely on one another to make this the world we want to live in. Clearly, this guy was going for the worse. Once the work was finished, they charged me an additional $1,500, which led to a last-minute scramble with my insurance company to secure the extra funds. On top of that, I was overcharged for the work. It took four long weeks for them to complete the repairs, and they were supposed to put an inspection sticker on the car, which they didn't. When I went back to the garage to get the sticker, I explained to the owner that I shouldn't have to pay for the inspection since they had my car for four weeks and neglected to do it. The owner then refused to do the inspection altogether, even after I said I was willing to pay. The entire process was unnecessarily drawn out, overpriced, and extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this place.
