Two stars primarily due to management. Watch out for the on-site manager "Willy" William, a very brute, unstable, simian like troll that sleeps and hangs out in the Office all day. Most miserable rental experience I ever had living here. Finally had to write a letter to the owner to get this jerk off my back and then he still obsessed over me like an ex-girlfriend. This guy is such an incredible ass. I have observed him going through Apartments with a black light looking for invisible stains and actually getting down on his hands and knees smelling/tasting spots to see if he could charge an extra cleaning fee. Don't leave your laundry unattended for too long or certain items may disappear. He will send his maintenance lackey (when they all haven't quit) at all hours of the day to take photos of you or your "violations". I caught the maintenance guy outside my window taking photos of me while I was sleeping and then I received a violation letter because I left my shoes outside my two story unit where only I could see them! This guy acts like a crotchety old grandmother and abuses people who work for him as well as the ones who rent from him. He leaves nasty messages and then hangs up on you when confronted just like any bully. I really wasn't going to yelp this place but after moving to a new place and experiencing professional management I see what a dick this guy was and decided to warn others about my experience. There are numerous complaints against him and lawsuits are ready to be filed. Any chance this guy has to charge you an extra fee he will. It's like he gets a percentage of the fee or something. It was just weird to always see him peeping around at all hours. The way he stares at women and children is very inappropriate and I always told my girlfriend to keep the blinds closed when he was around. He has a "spy network" of cronies who spy for him and look for violations so he can stay locked in his office watching the latest funny cat video, Russian "dating" website while complaining about the owners of the complex and all of the work he has to do. Your property is not safe here, a criminal element lives on the premises. The security cameras only work on his office and property. They do not work anywhere else. My property was stolen three separate times from my truck parked right in front of a security camera and guess what? It wasn't even hooked up! Definitely an inside job as the robberies and property theft only happened when his new maintenance guy moved onsite. Many of the thefts occur during the night and you'll always see them lurking around the parking lot. Police reports are available at the local police station, so check before you have your Sons or Daughters move here. Overall the apartments are adequate but expensive for the area. There are much better managers to deal with in the area. He will beg you for a 5-Star review then turn on you like a snake. Hmmm, well David Y or Willie R., Jim C. or whoever you really are, you might be half right I was also a disgruntled TENANT from 10/01/16 till 12/10/17. I didn't mention the hell it was working there or this "rant" would have been much worse. I quit because of all the racial slurs and inappropriate comments the miserable, Willy R. would make while I had to watch him give himself a pedicure and listen to his boring ass stories instead of letting me get to work. The guy needs a refresher course in labor law and tenant relations Maybe I'll check my notes and recordings of the ridiculousness I had to endure. Maybe we can go to court and I can get paid for all my "comp time", missed lunches, breaks and finally get the hernia fixed that you tried to get me to pawn off on the VA instead of filing a workman's comp claim. We are very satisfied with the apartment and exterior grounds both the property owner and site manager (William) deserve recognition for excellent management of the property. Our opinion reflects the first six months of our rental agreement. The two bedroom apartment was completely upgraded prior to our arrival from our home located in New Hampshire. We have owned property in New Hampshire for thirty seven years; never experienced a rental occupancy always having a private home located on two acres in a small New England town. Apartment living was going to be a new experience; we had safety, noise and neighborhood condition issues. Our earlier concerns are no longer issues: living within Seabreeze Apartments the past six months has been a BREEZE. We appreciate the owner of Seabreeze Apartments because we are witness to ongoing upgrades to apartments and exterior grounds. I assume many tenants appreciate the owners commitment to maintain the comp!ex. It is my opinion that Seabreeze Apartments in comparison to other rental facilities around the area and specific location on Lake Drive, Marina, Ca. is a preferred living environment. Bottom line up front, I highly recommend this Apartment Complex!!! After searching 3 days for a place, my wife and I stumbled upon Seabreeze the night before we were due to fly back across country. The grounds were well lit, immaculately clean and quiet. I thought it was too good to be true. When I inquired the next morning, despite it being before business hours, the manager, William returned my call, arranged a meeting, showed us the property and got our lease on the roll. We were out the door before 830 for our 10am flight. For the price, there is no competition in this part of California. The landscaping is always maintained, maintenance is always available and prompt and William ensures that standards are enforced. Smoking is not allowed on the premises which adds to the clean environment. The apartments are spacious and have modern fixtures and appliances which gives it a nice homely feel. After living here for 1.5 yrs, I've never had one complaint but am sure it would've been remedied swiftly. I am moving to another country but would stay here if given another opportunity. William is not just a manager, he is a leader. He communicates very effectively and works expeditiously to solve problems. With his direction and guidance this place will continue to surpass the standards of comparable properties in the area. read more

Update 06/13/2016 the ant problem resurfaced again yesterday, after two sessions of treatment, i have ant bits everywhere on my body. Just emailed the manger again as he advised, let's see what he going to do about it?!!! I uploaded new pictures and videos from the tub in the bathroom, and kitchen since the bedroom light was so dim I couldn't take good pictures! Update 06/08/2016 They came yesterday to fix the problem, so we have to wait and see, but also few minutes ago the manger came angry, yelling, threatening at me for my review asking me to remove it or?? , I'm really surprised because he is really professional and good manger, his behavior was unexpected and out of the blue. My aunt is senior citizen was in the bedroom and heard his loud voice and his threats so she was terrified from him and his behavior!!! I'm still living in Seabreeze Apartments and the problem is that my building and apartment is been infested with insects, such as spiders, cockroaches and ants. The ants problem was since December of 2015 till now the other insects problem started 2 months ago. love this community because the grounds look so good. On our leasing tour with the Manager William the community looked nicer than anything I have seen. The interior of the apartment with all white appliances including microwave and gas range is so nice to have at my last place we only had electric. He was friendly and got back to me promptly with my move in questions. I asked if I could do a shorter lease but felt comfortable signing a year's lease here as its the nicest community in Marina. The maintenance person has been cool and friendly when I've said hello. Its in a great location close to shopping, the beach and CSUMB and Monterey Peninsula college. My wife and I have been at the Seabreeze apartments for 21 years, and in that time we have seen a lot of managers come and go. The property has gone through a lot of changes in that time. In all of our years however, we have never seen such great changes taking place as there are now. William is a wonderful manager; and now, we also have an owner who really cares about being part of a great property. We feel like this property has finally stepped into the 21st century, and the improvements continue to happen. This property is looking better and better! The new laundry rooms are so much better and more efficient with new machines! The outside lighting is so nice it is amazing what lighting does and so glad the new roofing is all done. I plan on staying in Marina here for a long time and am so glad it is being remodeled in such a nice way. I would highly recommend Sea Breeze to my friends and fellow CSUMB staff. Any maintenance or questions are taken care of promptly and for the most part is a quiet community. This place is really great . I lived there for 3 years and ever since William (manager) started workings there the place has just been improving more and more. William really cares about the Apartments and the tenants. He is also very helpful and quickly to get things done. They just got a new owner who is making great improvements to the apartments and making it even better. I highly recommend this place the price is a little higher but a good price for what you get. The only downside to the Seabreeze apartments is that they don't allow dogs. read more
