Fantastic gem I'm so glad we found. The chef cooking away right nearby is very cool, and am glad to experience his cooking. Looks like the menu changes often. We started with the oyster shooters and they were great. The brussel Sprouts were on point. Not sure what it's called but we had a salmon and clams small dish that was awesome. The Lamb Ragu was amazing, and even my friend who usually doesn't like the smell of some lamb cooking liked it. For the large plate we got the scallops on risotto and loved every bite. Finally we got the key lime pie dessert and loved it. Everything is awesome here from the ambiance, vibe, food, and service. Perfect!

Fantastic meal. The flavors were fresh, well balanced, and fun. The cocktails were absolutely delicious. And the service was really great. Also, really cute ambiance, which was not what we expected from looking at the outside. We will definitely be back!!

Split Decision and Matter of Passion, 2 of many creative drinks!

Hubby and I went to Seaboy to celebrate our anniversary, and it was among the best dining experiences we've had. First, we were apprehensive about dining on the patio because the heavens decided to open today and the rain was relentless, so did we really want to dine on a patio? Not to worry, Seaboy's version of a patio was lovely, with a perfect temperature and we couldn't hear the rain outside although we were seated at an "outside" table (it was next to the patio cover/drape). We were welcomed by our waiter, Joe R, who offered excellent suggestions throughout - we chose 2 small plates and 1 bigger plate and we each chose a drink. Joe was attentive yet provided us with time to plan how to best order for our palate. He could write the book on perfect service. And the food. It's easy to tell that every morsel is fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We couldn't possibly have eaten more tonight (although we're not uncomfortably stuffed, we had the right amount of food for us) so we'll need to return to try other menu items that looked interesting! And, we'll ask for Joe R! Oh, and the perfect ending to the perfect meal - Joe brought out a deconstructed Key Lime Pie for us, and we had Key Lime Pie at our wedding a few hundred years ago! Anniversary dinner perfection thanks to Seaboy!

We ALWAYS have the BEST dining experience at Seaboy!!! Never disappoints! Everything is fresh, super tasty and delicious!!! Love trying all their small plates!! Very welcoming and happy staff!!! Not one complaint!!! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!!!

This gem of a place is unbelievably good! It's a quaint spot, so reservations are highly recommended. I visited here over the holiday and was immediately excited, as the entrance provides a view into the kitchen, so you're able to see how precise every cook is about the food that's being served. We were seated towards the back which provided a more intimate vibe - much appreciated. Our server was pleasant and well-informed on both the history of the place and the food menu. As other reviews have pointed out, it's a seafood spot but you have options if your tastebuds call for something else. From the oysters to the main dish - EVERYTHING was great! I've put this place on my list of spots to keep in rotation, because it sincerely is that good! Make a reservation and go check them out!

The menu is very limited (which I knew in advance). We got the oysters (pictured), they were just ok. Shrimp Cocktail (again just ok) and the Crab & Chorizo Croquettes (they were the BOMB). Service was actually phenomenal! He was great! He was very attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu and had the best personality! The restaurant itself is small so be prepared you will be seating extremely close to other people. Also the bar area is small as well. I would go for apps again but not for dinner.

Unbelievable, food and service. It is seafood-centric but not 100% seafood. For example, one of the specials the night we went was a braised lamb shank. The table next to us got the shank and said it was delicious. My wife got a trigger fish in a lemon butter, caper sauce special, and it was amazing as well. This is one of those stick your reputation out there places where you can confidently say, just go!

A cute and cozy spot with a lot of warmth Our servers were very friendly. They even sat down with us and were very enthusiastic about the food which was delicious, well seasoned, fresh, flavorful and creative. It hit all the right notes. We had two small plates (crab chorizo croquettes and charred eggplant) and two entrees (scallops risotto and sablefish -that succotash is divine). All of it was great! The BTG wine list is small, but well curated with excellent options. Dinner is expensive but worth it for the memorable food experience.

My husband and I have visited Seaboy three times now, and we've vowed to return at least monthly. We are fans of tapas with big flavors, and Seaboy is so good that they deserve to join our regular rotation. The restaurant itself is small, with only ten tables in the back room (reservation only) and eight tables outside, along with several tables/seats in the bar area (no reservation required). Because they are so small, we are glad they offer earlier reservations (starting @ 4pm) for us early birds who enjoy eating when restaurants are less crowded. We've been able to get seating in the bar without a reservation, too! We have tried seven of their dishes, and here's how I'd rank them - Repeat Dishes (in order of favorites) * Lamb ragu - This dish is a favorite, and it's gotten better each time we've had it. If I came with friends and only got one dish, this is what I'd get without a doubt. * Tuna crudo - Definite repeat, and probably the best tuna crudo we've had anywhere, especially because of big flavors imparted by the Asian chili oil. * Sea bass cheeks/crispy skate wing - Definite repeat with whatever fish they have on rotation. We love their homemade tartar sauce, the light and crispy coating, and the quality of their fish. * Shrimp Skewers - This dish is full of flavor! * Scallops with Rock Shrimp Risotto - Our only large plate, this dish was served with three large scallops and perfectly cooked--and seasoned--risotto. On the Fence * Candied beets - This was a large portion for sharing and tasty, but it could have used more candied walnuts. Skip Next Time * Crab and chorizo croquettes - These were large and well-filled. However, we preferred the other dishes we discovered over this one. Seavoy's drinks are well-prepared with great care, and if you request something off the menu, you'll likely get a special creation by the mixologist. The Bulletproof Boulevardier & jazzed up French 75 were some of the best we've ever had! Service has always been impeccable, and the dishes were timed well enough that we never had more than one at one time. The plates also looked like a lot of care was factored into the presentation. They gave us fresh plates after our courses, which I really appreciated. I do wish they offered tableside payments via Apple Pay--or at least via a QR code. However, that won't deter us from being regulars! They have recognized us each time we've had a repeat visit. I love their attention to food, service, and hospitality, and am so glad we have such a great restaurant close to home!

We have been eyeing this restaurant from across the street for months. I'm so happy that we finally made a reservation and gave it a shot. This restaurant has such a cool, funky vibe. The hostess was so welcoming and projects an era of we've got you and you're going to have a wonderful dining experience this evening. The menu was just a page of the most delicious, memorable attention to detail options that will make you want to come back and experience all of them very soon! The entire staff assisted us with water, filling wine glasses, setting, cleaning plates and serving the most delectable dishes that we had chosen. We visited with another couple and opted for 3 appetizers and 2 dinners. You know it's a great place when you're talking about coming back as you're exiting the restaurant and not even off of the front porch yet.

Can I give this 10 stars? We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday and had the best experience. We sat at the counter, which I highly recommend. It was so fun and impressive to watch the chefs cook, communicate, and work together -- you can tell they love what they do. We tried the grouper cheeks, lamb ragu, swordfish, and octopus, and everything was absolutely delicious. Every dish was packed with flavor and so fresh. The banana bread for dessert was amazing too. We both had Old Fashioneds and they were perfectly made. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and Johnny, the owner and head chef, was right there in the mix making sure everything ran smoothly. You can tell this is a special place run with real passion. Can't wait to come back!!

Phenomenal!! Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. Food, service, even the Riedel wine glasses. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Friends brought us here when we were in town visiting and honestly this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to in my life. We made a meal of the small plates, which I highly recommend. Ordered almost every one and they were all incredible. On our next trip there we will be back to try the entrees. Just wish I didn't live on the other side of the country! Update: our 2nd time to Seaboy was just as remarkable. Peter our server was well trained & attentive. He recommended the Halibut Cheeks as an appetizer. Never had Halibut Cheeks, and delicious they were! Two large cheeks, lightly battered served with a lemon tartar sauce, along with a grilled half a lemon drizzled with balsamic that we squeezed over top. My goodness what a treat. Our main courses were....again....the Tuna. It is outstanding in our opinion. The tuna is cooked & seasoned perfectly and those fried then sautéed potatoes are the bomb. I've talked about those potatoes to so many people. They complement the tuna perfectly. We also ordered the Pompano fish. It's pan grilled with a chopped apple slaw along with cilantro served on top of the fish. It had the perfect amount of salt and seasoning. And for dessert we shared the Lemon Curd with graham crackers and topped with a meringue with sea salt and grated lemon topping. We left once again thinking this is the best restaurant in this area. We had reservations thankfully. The place was packed by 6:30. read more

First visit & can't wait to go back! Sat outside on the porch for dinner which is such a relaxing nice atmosphere. Our server Kent was top notch. He definitely made our visit over the top! We tried the grilled oysters, yellowfin crudo, sea bass cheeks and croquettes (a must have) to start. We split the scallop entree - which was my overall fav! Such a great addition to our area & so happy to support such a great crew and chef! read more

It was my first time using the Open Table reservation application. It was surprisingly easy to enroll and make reservation and receive confirmation. Seaboy has garnered high praise regarding it's seafood! Our experience was wonderful our servers Joe, Tim and Kevin were warm friendly and very knowledgeable regarding all facets of their menu. Our food came fairly promptly considering 6:15pm reservation the place was packed. We had the Branzino which was delicious, small plates of the Octopus confit which was slightly over charred but tasty, crispy potato salad was very good, the Lamb Ragu also quite delicious. The hybrid salad Ceasar Salad with traditional anchovies in the dressing. Overall it was a wonderful dining experience and we'll be back with guests! Definitely a must try if you like seafood prepared well. The kitchen staff appear energetic and motivated. Loved seeing the Open kitchen. read more

Simply put, this is a Michelin Star operation operating under disguise. From start to finish, every member of this Team is Top Shelf. It is so hard to find restaurants that even understand "service" these days, much less that can actually deliver it. The food was exceptional... perfectly portioned, spices were inspirational, and the delivery was exquisite. The ambience is inviting by design, incredibly well put together and comfortable. Cannot recommend more. A real find and a true pleasure of an experience. Well done Seaboy Team! read more

We enjoyed a wonderful date night without the kids and visited Seaboy. The crab croquettes and grouper cheeks were delicious. The scallops and risotto dish was delicious. On our second visit we had Lainey book us a reservation for every Friday. When we go we feel like we are amongst old friends. The food is amazing and ingredients change often to what is in season. Jonny is an amazing Chef. Shout out to Cole, CJ, Asa, Adam and Josh the other members of this masterful culinary crew. Jade and Nico the amazing bartenders. Bartender does not even begin to describe their skill set. Please try this gem of a place in Cornelius! read more

Where to begin - Seaboy is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. It is definitely one of the best restaurants in the Charlotte area. I have been twice and have gotten numerous dishes - there is not a single thing I wouldn't reorder. Food is high-quality, the flavors are incredible, and presentation is beautiful. I love sitting at the counter and watching the kitchen, they were even kind enough to let us try the scallop toast on my last visit, which was delicious as well. The chefs are so kind and friendly, and the servers are all wonderful and attentive. Even the drinks are incredible - we loved both our cocktails and mocktails. What we ordered this visit: little gem Caesar (forgot to take a picture), grilled oysters - herb, bacon, and Cajun, yellowfin crudo, crispy skate bites, crab and chorizo croquettes, PEI mussels, lamb ragu, scallop toast (compliments of the chef), and cheesecake (not pictured). I would reorder everything, but my favorites are probably the Cajun and bacon grilled oysters, yellowfin crudo, and the crab and chorizo croquettes. Last time we went, we ordered several of these items plus the crab dip and crispy sea bass cheeks. Next time, I plan to get an entree because they all look amazing, but I wanted to try as many things as possible on these first few visits. This is such a beautiful date-night spot and a great spot to go with some girl friends. This was the best addition to the LKN area - they truly blew my expectations out of the water. I am so impressed with everything the chef is doing at this restaurant and can't wait for my next visit! read more

I had the pleasure of dining here on a beautiful Saturday evening and was able to sit out on the Patio as a walk in as I arrived early. The service was excellent - they treated me like I was a food critic with the level of attentiveness and detailed descriptions of their dishes. I had their tuna crudo, which was one of the best tasting dishes I have had- I cannot wait to go back and order it again. I also had the oysters and crispy fish small plate- everything was presented wonderfully, and the fish had just the right amount of batter to fish ratio. The meal ended with a complimentary glass of sherry to top it off. Will DEFINITELY be putting this on the regular rotation! read more

My husband and I had dinner at Seaboy. First of all, it was the best experience we've ever had at a restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was first class. We've been to many upscale restaurants in Charlotte, Boston, and Charleston, and Seaboy is our favorite so far. We drove 40 minutes to get there and will gladly drive many times to dine at Seaboy. read more

Hidden treasure. Don't deal with Charlotte, drive the short mile to Cornelius. This area alone has great places to dine and have a drink. This place has it all. From vibe, ambiance and food. The owner/chef has taken great concern to deliver both a comfortable place to dine, but puts as much effort into what goes into your stomach. The place is amazing. You can feel his passion through the entire space. This is my favorite seafood place. read more

Highly recommend this restaurant! My staff and I visited on a weekday, and we had an outstanding overall experience. We were a party of seven, which can be a bit large for a restaurant of this size, but the service was exceptional--we were never neglected or overlooked. Ken was our waiter, and he did a phenomenal job. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and able to answer all of our questions with ease. He was very informative, and we truly enjoyed his personality and hospitality. He is clearly a great server and excellent at what he does. The food was even better. Everything we tried was phenomenal--the swordfish, tuna, lamb chops, and the special of the night (a fish whose name I unfortunately can't remember) were all delicious. We sampled almost every small plate, and each one impressed us. As someone who loves oysters--raw, steamed, or grilled--I was especially happy. One person at our table ordered the steak and said it was great. Even though it's their only steak option, it's clear they make it a priority to ensure it's outstanding. If you love seafood, this place can't be beat. I hope anyone reading this review takes the time to check it out and enjoys the food as much as our party did. read more

Impeccable service! From the hostess to the bar folks to the waiter, super friendly people. The vibes inside were wonderful too, from the windows to the walls to the tiny fish on the tables. We got the branzino, the croquettes, some oysters, and a skate wing. All were excellent. Although I'd particularly recommend the branzino and the croquettes. Went for dinner a second time. Started with Crab & Chorizo Croquettes and Lamb Ragu. She had the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna and I had the Whole Branzino. Shared Carrot Cake and double Espresso. Absolutely fantastic again. I don't know how they managed to put together such a great team top to bottom but they have. I love pho, and have slopped it all over my shirt in many countries around the world. I prefer my food spicy. A spicy version is not offered on the menu, but be warned that the jalapeños served in the side are proper hot. Sriracha on every table but I have not needed it. I have a spot in DC where the pho might be a little more authentic but Cornelius is way closer for lunch.

We absolutely loved our visit to Seaboy! From start to finish, everything about the experience was outstanding -- Seaboy has quickly become one of our favorite new restaurants. The food was incredible. The crab and chorizo croquettes were the perfect start -- crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful inside, with just the right amount of spice. We also couldn't get enough of the crab dip -- creamy, packed with crab, and served with warm, perfectly toasted bread. For mains, the scallops were beautifully seared and buttery, and the pompano was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and flavorful without being heavy. Dessert was just as impressive: the cheesecake was light, creamy, and had a delicious crust, while the key lime pie was refreshingly tart and the perfect end to the meal. As great as the food was, what truly made the night special was the service. Peter and Kent were amazing -- friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we had a great experience.
