Two friends and I recently went on a full day 'party' trip on the Sea Love. We all had been on party trips before in the gulf and atlantic, and are avid fishermen all around. We had issues in the past with rental gear, and old bait. So,we brought our own gear. After a couple of phone calls reserving a spot on the vessel i came to an early conclusion that there were two people in charge, and one was a jerk. Later I found that the jerk was the captain, and the friendly voice that i remembered belonged to a grey hair and mustached man that works the desk. Probably foreshadowing the rest of the trip. After being TOLD to arrive at 7:15, we didint load until 8. So we spent 45 minutes standing on a dock being eaten alive by "no-see-ums", or some kind of sand gnats. Just before 8, a large group of younger people, two girls and 3 or 4 guys, walked towards us with gear and a cast net in hand. As well as open beers. One guy starting netting small pinfish and bucketing them, obviously for the trip. While the others drank and laughed obnoxiously loud. They all had piercings and tattoos, and didnt look like the kind of crowd we wanted to be on a boat with. Then the deck hands and captain approached, at exactly 8, letting me know they had been standing around the office killing time. And instead of welcoming the 20 or so decent people waiting, they started high fiving the drunks and knew them all by name. I tried to ignore it. I was there to fish, not make friends. After the long two hour trip out they dropped anchor and we began fishing. They provide some freezer burnt squid, like all other party boats, and garbage reels full of cheap heavy mono. Bring your own bait and gear. NOONE but my friends and the locals caught a single fish. I caught 4 keepers, a black sea bass, a trigger, two porgies, and some grunts that i threw back. And after getting my stringer when we returned it only had 3 fish on it. The deck hand laughed and said, dude, you only caught one porgie.I only handed him one, but I gave the other to the non stoner looking deck hand named luke. I was so angry I just dropped all of the fish on the dock and walked away. The two idiot deck hands couldnt even keep what few fish that were caught in order. The locals got all the attention from the staff bc they were busy gaffing their fish and cutting our lines so they could keep their rigs. Then we'd wait for ever for one of the deck hands to give us another weight. One local was catching barred jacks with sebiki jigs, and the other slayed barracuda with the pins he netted, but ALL of the gear was their own. And i felt that it was unfair to the people who actually paid for the trip to see all this action and not get any for themselves. My two friends caught one vermillion snap each, and one was missing from their stringer. All the while the hands are trying to sell us on their private charter boat. I dont remember the name, but it looked like a piece of shi* when I saw it docked next to the sea love. We shouldve gone to the gulf or looked further for another boat. I now know that if you go to the docks in st aug you can get a cheap charter there. They just dont advertise online. Just shop around. But stay away from Sea Love Charters. read more

I am an avid Bass fisherman from Kentucky. I fish a lot of tournaments, but when it comes to the ocean I must admit I am completely out of my element. I had taken my Dad deep sea fishing before about 5 years ago. We had fun, but mainly caught small grunts. So this was our 2nd time out and we were in a different part of Florida and decided on Sea Love Charters. I also took along my two small sons (9 and 8). I was worried about this, but so glad I went. The crew Luke and Rain did an amazing job with putting us on fish. What a day! Huge Red Snapper came in the boat, along with several massive sharks, barracuda, sea bass, amber jacks, and my Son Abel landed (with help) a 30 plus pound cobia. The crew filleted this fish for us and we ate on it for the remainder of our stay. (It was so good.) The best memory though and as a Father I will be forever grateful for this was the barracuda that Luke helped my son Micah land. He hooked one and handed the rod to Micah. Micah fought (with help) this massive fish, but it got off close to the boat. He was absolutely crushed. We tried to explain that sometimes this happens, and Luke went back to trying to hook up with another barracuda to give someone else on the boat a shot at landing one of these massive giants. He hooked up with another this one bigger than the first. He asked, "Who wants a shot at this one?" Several people on the boat volunteered including my son Micah again. About the time I was getting ready to explain to Micah that other people had to take their turns Luke said, "Let's give Micah another shot." People started clapping and encouraging him. He fought the thing and landed it. (Again with help) But I cannot even begin to explain in words the excitement on my son's face. He has not stopped talking about it since we left. He tells everyone. The crew was awesome and we caught fish literally all day. I must say I have read some of the negative reviews on here and could not disagree more. It is my belief that these reviews are written by people who neither understand business, nor fishing. The crew want to put people on fish, it's their job, and literally their livelihoods depend on it. But I also understand fishing (Which a lot of people don't.) I have won tournaments and hundreds and thousands of dollars one week, and went back to fish the exact spots the next week and NOTHING! You can't make fish bite. And when they aren't you look for fish that are. (Hints moving!) I cannot recommend this business enough. Our family will vacation here again as we love the St. Augustine area, and when we do we will use Sea Love Charters again. This was the best money I spent the entire week we were down there. I'm not typically the person who writes reviews, but I felt this experience warranted one. If you like fishing, and enjoy a good day on the water, "USE SEA LOVE CHARTERS!" They will not disappoint. Micah caught a 58 inch barracuda, which we are having a replica made of. I made memories with my Dad, and my two sons. The crew was great, fishing was fantastic, and we made memories to last a lifetime. Isaiah Super Somerset, KY. read more

If you're looking for a deep-sea fishing charter that truly delivers a five-star experience, look no further than Sea Love Charters! Every time I step aboard this boat, Sea Love Charters exceeds my expectations, and today was no exception! First, I want to recognize the owner, Bill, who sets the tone for the entire operation. He personally meets you at the dock for check-in, patiently answers your questions, and is there when the boat returns to hear about your experience and make sure his crew delivered the memorable fishing trip you came for. That level of personal attention speaks volumes about how much he cares about his customers. Bill has also assembled an outstanding team that deserves recognition. Captain Sam is an absolute professional. She pilots that boat as if it were her own, with confidence, courtesy, and a genuine commitment to making sure everyone has a great day on the water. Her goal isn't just to get you on top of the fish; she works hard to help you catch them, too! From the moment you step aboard until you return to the dock, she treats you like family and goes above and beyond to make your trip a five-star experience. Today's red snapper trip was no exception! Then there's head mate Josh, and this guy deserves a special shout-out. His knowledge of fishing is second to none, and his work ethic is incredible. He's working two hours before departure and stays two hours after the boat returns. Add that to an eight-hour fishing trip, and you're looking at a 12-hour workday--all to help other people experience the excitement of catching fish! Josh works tirelessly for every customer, sharing his knowledge, offering guidance, and doing everything he can to help you land the fish of a lifetime. Sometimes, a job like that can be thankless, but I'm pretty sure today made it all worthwhile. Every person on board caught red snapper and more! The coolers were full, the smiles were everywhere, and before we even left the dock, people were already talking about their next trip. That says everything you need to know about the kind of experience this crew delivers. So, if you haven't tried Sea Love Charters yet, I strongly encourage you to book your next deep-sea fishing adventure with them. I'm confident you'll understand why I keep coming back--and why you'll want to bring a friend along next time! A huge thank-you to Bill, Captain Sam, Josh, and the entire Sea Love Charters team for another incredible day on the water. FISH ON! read more

These guys are as good as you can get. We went this past Sunday with Captain Bill and Captain Luke for the full day charter. These guys really know how and where to fish. The whole boat was pulling fish all day! We were shocked, and SUPER STOKED, when Bill hooked a Barracuda, then handed the pole to my friend to reel it in. We wound up with a trophy fish and my friend had the best fight of his fishing life reeling that 55 pound monster in!! Both Bill and Luke were extremely friendly, personable, and helpful on the boat. Their fishing knowledge completely blew us away. I can't think of better boat or crew to go fishing with. At the end of trip the guys even shared some recipes with us for how they like to cook up all the different fish we caught that day. If you are in St Augustine, and want a great fishing charter look no further. Sea Love Charters is the only place I'll ever go back to in St. Augustine. These guys deserve more than 5 stars. read more

If you are ever in St Augustine and feel like doing some fishing, I would highly recommend Sea Love Charters as your outfitter. I was visiting my son who is serving in the Navy and wanted something fun and out of the ordinary for us to do together, I called Sea Love Charters and they were very accommodating in setting up a trip for us and very reasonably priced. All we had to do was show up with a cooler, some snacks and sandwiches and of course some beverages for us to enjoy during our day. Their crew were very helpful and knowledgeable and took care of everything for us including cleaning our catch at the end of the day. We got to see some dolphins swimming along side the boat and some sharks who at times decided to eat our catch leaving us with only the head on our line. All in all a great day of fishing and family fun leaving us with memories for a life time. read more

DOC AL Had a perfect 10 of daRainy on the Sea Love II with Chase and Rain. Seas were smooth and went 25-30 miles out on Friday 8/17/18 in search of RedSnapper. My first drop using a sardine resulted in a 25 lb. 39 inch Cobia. Just a few drops later had the first of 4 Red Snapper 1 of which came home for dinner. Have been fishing with Bill and his fleet of captains for many years and have found the crews to all be friendly and helpful. Daryl in the office makes it easy to book space easy as pie. Have used many head boat charters all over the SE USA and keep coming back to Sea Love ,leaving my personal boat at the dock. Doc Al M. read more

I planned to use Sea Love Charters for an event, but the night before our trip, they called to cancel due to weather conditions. While I understand weather-related cancellations, they assured me I would receive a refund. The event was in September, and now, as we are in December, I have yet to receive the refund or any response. I have called, emailed, and sent messages through their website, but they have been completely unresponsive. This lack of communication and failure to fulfill their commitment is absolutely unprofessional and entirely unacceptable. I cannot recommend their services based on this experience. read more

Sea Love Charters is my favorite pick when it comes to fishing in the St Augustine area!! In spite of the cooler weather, Capt Chase and Mates Mike, Sydney and Chris did their best to get us on the fish. I caught a 42" Cobia and some beautiful Red Snapper. Couldn't keep the Snapper but the Cobia was a keeper for sure!! I have fished with this group for quite a few years and have never been disappointed. There are no guarantees when the boat leaves the dock, this group does everything possible to find the fish! I recommend them to anyone and everyone I can. read more

We had such an amazing time on this charter! The boat was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing day out on the water. The captain and crew were super friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience fun and stress-free. Everything was well organized, and the atmosphere was great from start to finish. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip, and I would absolutely book again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and memorable day on the water! read more

My first time on Sea Love was great. We had Captains Luke and Bill with two mates, Anthony and Carson. Everyone was very helpful and fun to be around. After the first 3 spots weren't successful Captain Luke continued to drive around until we hit the jackpot. We left the charter with multiple spade fish. I highly recommend Sea Love. read more
