Great way to support local! This store has several different vendors from all across San Diego. This is a mini version from the big location located at Liberty Station. Though it's a mini this location has 40 local vendors nicely spaced out. It's located at the Mission Valley Mall. When I'm visiting back home (Hawaii) or people are visiting from out of town I usually gift them something from this store. Some of my favorite vendors: Rysng- Stickers, stationary, and Filipino inspired art. This vendor is in the front of the store towards the middle. This vendor also sells items that has San Diego on it such as hats, shirts, bags etc. Naked Beast Snacks- My Mini Schnauzers have been loving all the snacks from here. They also sell cute items for pets. Salt Farm & Proper Tea- I tried several of the loose tea, spices and purchased other items they sell. Staff has been helpful when I'm looking for a certain gift they are able to suggest something. Most items are decently priced for items that are not mass produced. Service was terrible, so disappointing. Very aware which is great! But, me and my cousins walked into this store. Walked around, admiring items! Lady with short black hair started following me and my cousin. We were looking at stuff and since we were aware of her we kept our arms crossed to let them know we're NOT stealing. Everything was great, good items in the store but they need to replace their workers !!!! Other Caucasian people were there not to bring race BUT she was more focused on us. Felt so disappointed, I did not feel welcomed at all. Never did I get one welcome or how am I doing. Other employee on the surveillance camera, she got close to the employee and to my understanding to let her know to keep on a look out for us. Very lovely store! Many vintage things to find and great quality of clothes. Unfortunately the employees are horrible. The minute we walked in she didn't greet us but when someone other family walked in she greeted them with a big smile, I didn't think much of it but then I started walking to a few sections of the stores to find something I like. The employee kept following me and she kept staring. Then proceeded to go tell the employee at the register to keep a look out since she was on the surveillance cameras. Really nice store has a lot of cool and nice vintage stuff BUT racist as hell. Me and my cousin and Sister walked into the establishment occurring and admiring a lot of the stuff in the beginning a staff member short hair looks like a boy not to be disrespectful but the girl she didn't even greet us. Didn't even welcome us to the store as me and my cousin Sister walk around the store. We see that she follows us and every section keep in mind. We do not have any bags. Nothing on us. She later on goes to the manager or whoever it is who is observing the cameras and points out at us boldly she didn't even try to hide it. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE! read more

Have you ever been shopping and you just cant find that gift you need for someone special. Well I found a great store in Mission Valley, it is called Sea Hive-Mini I think. It is a store with many individual small business vendors. I could not beleive it, wheather you into Vintage or some people buy new and resell and the cutiest cloths. There are even handmade vendors, lots of them. I picked up a few things, and will make sure to keep them on my list of where to go shopping. I did pick up this cute stuffed handmade crochet animal, My grandson is gonna love it read more

They told me to giveback the ring that they cold somehow hear in my pocket. I did have change in my pocket and a chain on my shorts but it doesn't sound like a ring but nevertheless they say to give it back and leave immediately, so I asked to see the footage and also told them ill empty my pockets and the bag that my friend had with her, and when I see the footage it looked like I did but it was fairly obvious that I grabbed my phone after looking at rings, so I explain what I did and they still did not believe me. So I asked if they need me to empty my pockets, no answer. So I go ahead and completely empty my pockets and the bag, showed them the inside of my pockets as well. And they made a comment about how big my pockets were, and yet there was nothing in my pockets that was theirs. So they say "well we're still are going to ask you leave our store" no sorry, no saying it was a mistake, nothing. Maybe next time don't stereotype two teens and understand when yall are wrong. There have been more places around town doing the "multiple vendors under one roof" thing but the Sea Hive stores do it best. They have the best curation of vendors, the stores are well kept (no stinky thrift store smell), and the staff is super helpful. Pricing is fair; if you want things for cheap then truthfully, you should go source/make it yourself. Best place to go for gifts. There's something for everyone. read more

I am a fan of Sea Hive in Liberty Station, and I've shopped at the Oceanside store as well, but I love this little pared down version that just opened in Mission Valley mall. It's going to become my go to store for everyone's gifts! I love La Ranchitas for this because there is literally something cute for every one of my friends, and I really like the selection of men's flannel shirts for my husband in Luna Remix.
