This beautiful store has convinced me that I need a wine room in my house because of their eclectic hand-picked selection from all over the world at fantastic prices. Katarina organized a lovely Yelp Elite event that included a complimentary sampling, meeting the staff and learning about the company, light snacks, and socializing with other Yelp Eliters. The shop features a special curated selection for every palette from well-known brands all the way to boutique wineries, at discounted prices. We enjoyed five different wines including a sparkling wine, pinot noir, chenin blanc, rioja, and a zinfandel, paired perfectly with charcuterie provided by Fourchette Red Bank and cookies from Fable Creamery Vegan Ice Cream & Confections. I was able to walk around and chat with the staff while learning different wine facts about the bottles being sampled and other selections in the store. Josh, Chris, David, and Jeni were fabulous hosts and one of the best things I appreciate and that stands out from other wine shops is the knowledge the staff has. They can answer any question you have and guide you to a perfect pick for whatever function you need a bottle, two, three, case, or more for. They offer wedding wine guide tips on their website and can make recommendations on what to serve at a celebration. Another convenience of being located right in town is that you can buy a bottle and take it to a BYOB restaurant within easy walking distance. For guests to the store, there are complimentary wine sampling events every 2 weeks featuring a special selection and you can sign up for their newsletter on their website to be apprised of the events or check their website to register for the event. Walk ins are always welcome. You can also try before you buy and the more you buy, the more you save. The Wine Cellar has 9 locations across the country and how lucky people are to live near one. Best of all, the Red bank location allows leashed and friendly dogs inside to shop with you.

The young lady who first helped me when I walked in (I didn't catch her name) was very friendly and engaging. When I picked up my orders, Brianna assisted me and she was also very pleasant and helpful. D'Elman was helpful as well. This is a very large, well stocked store, but what makes shopping easier in a place this size is how knowledgeable and helpful the staff usually are throughout the store. I was able to purchase all the bottles I wanted without any issue. Unfortunately, my checkout experience kind of ruined the ending for me. After my bottles were boxed up, I placed them back into my cart and moved the cart slightly away from the register area while preparing to pay. The cashier, Leslie, then said, "you have to pay for those," in a way that felt very accusatory almost like she thought I was about to walk out with a cart full of liquor. Considering I had over 30 bottles sitting there in plain sight at checkout, I found the comment unnecessary and honestly a little offensive. That interaction definitely left a bad final impression because your last point of contact matters. Leslie could've approached that differently. Overall though, the store itself was excellent, very well stocked, and the majority of the staff were friendly and professional. I would absolutely drive back here again for the selection alone.
