Their online planning portal was user-friendly, detailed, and made it easy to customize our music choices. I had a few key songs in mind, but Jesse helped fill in the gaps with well-curated playlists--like the top 50, mother/son, and anniversary dance options--that made decision-making easy and enjoyable. Jesse's expertise was especially valuable during our ceremony. We opted to use SE not just for music but for sound amplification as well. He equipped our officiant and my husband with lapel mics, which perfectly captured our vows. I met Jesse at a bridal and show and I am so glad I did. He went above and beyond as my wedding DJ/lighting guru. He was AWESOME. I wanted a lot of specialty uplighting for my wedding and his company was able to provide that. It was awesome to be able to bundle the DJ and lighting services in one. Jesse was super quick to respond to emails and he was so enthusiastic about my wedding. It was awesome to have a vendor that was just as excited about my wedding as I was! Jesse set up a lighting trial with my venue so that I was able to see exactly how the lights would look before my wedding. His company also built custom brackets that fit into the rafters of my venue so that there wouldn't be a bunch of big black poles all over the room. AMAZING! They really went above and beyond. We were thrilled to hear that at the last minute, John was available on the date of our wedding, as we had worked with him from the start. Once he arrived, he set up everything quickly and without issue. He was ready to get out lapel microphones set up and tested nearly immediately once wee were dressed and ready. Once the ceremony was over, John proceeded to play music that everyone on their feet and commenting on the great music selection the ENTIRE evening. Most people only sat down to REST. John knew what to play, when to play it and how to engage the group at every turn. Because John was so good at running the entertainment, we actually ABANDONED the process of picking songs and asked him to simply pick from entire genres of music and use his judgement on when to play what. We also told him that he was free to use funny sound effects and any other tools he had at his disposal. (The rim-shot during the Best Man toast was priceless!) You can always tell when someone has a passion for what they do. The results of their work are always excellent and here John proved that in spades. I am now CONSTANTLY thinking of places to use John and Spectrum Events at even my smallest of gatherings. Without John, that reception could have been an, awkward, boring snooze-fest that ended early, instead we had to be reminded that the venue needed to close for the night! THANK YOU JOHN! We used Spectrum for their DJ services. We had many concerns coming into our wedding, mostly from past experiences at other weddings. DJ Lou listened to all of our concerns and made a point to follow everything we asked for. We were able to pick all of the music to play, exact songs not just genres. We trusted him to order the playlist to keep the most people on the dance floor and boy did he come through. The dance floor was constantly packed and we didn't have to use any cheesy line dance songs....no Cha Cha Slide for us. A lot of people came to us afterward saying how much fun they had and that they haven't ever danced that much in their lives. DJ Lou was great to work with. Met all of our needs. Was very understanding and personable. The request form and online system made it very easy to pick out and plan everything we wanted. Our wedding was at Ashton Gardens in Sugar Hill GA. We are very appreciative of him and his services and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great DJ to keep the party going. Everything about his services were perfect. read more

We got married on Valentine's Day and had the privilege of having John Johnson as the DJ for our wedding. He was great! So professional and accommodating. For example, when the mother of the bride wanted to make an unexpected speech towards the end of the evening, he checked with us first to make sure it was okay... so helpful and considerate! My husband and I met with him once before the wedding and that was enough. Their website was really easy to use and so detailed - you got to include info about all of the specific dances wanted and not wanted and even got to request a "personality-type" for the DJ. Our guests raved about him after our reception. The music flowed well and he got many people on the dance floor with consistently good music that we had requested he play. We got married on April Fools (no joke), and it was amazing! We booked DJ Lou from Spectrum Entertainment and he was fantastic! We had a total of two meetings with Lou prior to the wedding. He helped go over how everything would work and had a very meticulous checklist for us to fill out so that we didn't miss any details of our wedding. He is super fast with email responses and always got back to me on the same day, if not within the hour. For the wedding day, he was very fun and knew how to get everyone pumped up and on the dance floor. My only advice is to do a mic check prior to the ceremony. Because there was a river next to our wedding ceremony, I heard it was hard to pick up on what the officiant, bride, and groom were saying which was kind of a bummer because we had awesome speeches prepared and most of our guests couldn't hear it :( But other than that, I would highly recommend Lou! read more

There was never a second when the dance floor was empty. We were dancing and singing all night long! Everything flowed beautifully, the sound quality was perfect, and he didn't have to intervene much with the guests in terms of announcements. We had some amazing vendors for our wedding. Except for our DJ, Lou Guzzo. I literally have nothing positive to say about him. Before the wedding we met with him once, went over specifics of what we wanted, explaining how important some aspects were, and we were feeling pretty good that Lou got it and would be a great choice. We were wrong. After that, we had many emails go without response, and the few he did reply to, he answered one question and ignored the rest of the email. The week before the wedding my then fiance now husband finally got in touch with him via phone where he assured us that he had everything under control. That was definitely not true. And everything went wrong was 100% his fault for either not preparing, or not caring. One of the BIGGEST issues had to be the processional. 30 years ago I heard a song and immediately thought "I want this song played at my wedding". Well as an adult that lead singer started a foundation that I became a volunteer for, and at one of those events, I met my future husband. The singer sent us a specially recorded acoustic version of that song for us to use at our wedding as our processional. I can't explain how special that was to us, explained it to Lou, sent him the song, and trusted it would happen and make our day so extra meaningful. The wedding started, the song was wrong. I had no idea what to do- I had no idea what he was playing (it wasn't one of the Vitamin Strings songs we had requested as prelude music which might have made sense) and so the venue coordinator ran down to Lou to have him change to the correct song. He didn't have it. I walked down the aisle eventually to a song I never heard of. But not till after the delay that left all the guests wondering if I had cold feet or something crazy was going on. 10 days later I am still getting questioned about what happened. Then he played Dora the Explorer theme song as our recessional music!?! We had requested just the "we did it we did it!" 2 lines which is a joke with some friends. Not any song. We showed him the youtube clip. Offered to send the MP3. And we discussed this specifically and clarified that Lou understood when we met with him. I guess he forgot? Later at the reception I asked him to please play the album version of what should have been our processional, and he told me "I've had requests for Jesse's Girl and The Wobble first, I'll get to it". I was dumbfounded. So many other things were wrong, but I'm running out of characters I'm allowed to use in this review. He played another song wrong that was a specific request and the song he played literally cleared the dance floor. He didn't change it, left an empty dance floor for the entire song. We didn't have a big "must play" list, but another important song didn't get played. I just want to say for anyone considering using Spectrum, DO NOT USE LOU! Unfortunately, there was not much direction when we asked for help choosing which DJ we should pick- we were told to just read the bios. Apparently that was the wrong choice. I hate that the part of my wedding ceremony that was to have been one of the most meaningful will now just be an unhappy frustrating memory because of Lou. I just have to laugh that we walked out to the Dora the Explorer theme song though, because really, you can't make this stuff up. I implore anyone considering Lou to reconsider. Like another person indicated...they do not return phone calls. In addition, they promise that they will provide you with information on a specific date, but fail to do so. Very unprofessional and I would not suggest them if you are planning your wedding or another special event. UPDATE: Turns out they are actually fantastic when you actually book them. Our DJ did a fantastic job. We had a hard time nailing down a DJ for our NYE wedding, and I did not want to initially use them, after the delayed paperwork (I may have had slight bridezillaitis). On May 3rd of this year, we used Spectrum Entertainment for hiring a DJ for our wedding. We paid almost $900 for this service. The DJ who we were assigned was not the DJ who we requested originally and did a terrible job. He completely stuttered over the introductions, played none of the music that we had discussed, and completely forgot about our bouquet toss and announced our departure. Since the wedding, I have sent 5 e-mails to Spectrum Entertainment trying to speak to someone about how bad our experience was. I have been told each time that someone is "looking into" our problem and they will reach back out shortly. However, each time there is no follow up and the last e-mail has gone completely ignored. I would not ever use this company again and would suggest that no one else does either. I would be understanding if the DJ was having an "off night", but the lack of customer service and consideration for a paying customer is reprehensible. DO NOT USE SPECTRUM ENTERTAINMENT! I worked with them for months before my wedding and was assured that I would get the DJ that I asked for. I met with the DJ and felt comfortable with him handling the event. The DJ showed up, played some background music during the cocktail hour and dinner, and then LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WEDDING, BEFORE THE DANCING EVEN STARTED! He left a back-up DJ to handle the party, who I had never met before and who did not have a good understanding of what we wanted. When I took the time out of my own wedding to try and stop the DJ from leaving, the company manager refused to answer my calls, although I knew he had his phone with him. After the wedding was over, I asked the manager to explain what happened, and the company refused to tell me. I paid a lot of money to use Spectrum and they acted completely unprofessionally. I wanted to express my disappointment in Tom Russo from Spectrum Entertainment. My wedding was amazing...except for the DJ. It was almost as if he didn't know that he had a wedding to do that day. He was very unprepared. The most important thing that I expressed, when I spoke with Lou Guzzo from Spectrum Entertainment, was that I wanted to make sure the DJ was the best, because the DJ makes or breaks the party. Lou assured me that he was the best DJ, next to himself (who was already booked that day). The first issue was that my groom was not given a lapel mic for the ceremony, as promised. The second issue was that my sister did a reading at the ceremony and was not given a microphone. The minister looked at the DJ and I saw Tom Russo pick up the hand mic and shrug his shoulders and then put it back down. I guess since she had already started talking, he didn't feel the need to make her be heard. When we were announced to enter the reception, Tom said "Genine and Todd............................." and then my guests had to tell him our last name! Then he said our last name! He didn't even know our name! I really thought that Tom Russo would have called me and ironed out any questions or concerns ahead of time, after his boss, Lou Guzzo and I talked on the phone, and emailed multiple times. Unfortunately our first meeting was on the dance floor when he asked me what songs to play "since I didn't have a play list". I was absolutely shocked and told him that I had over 2 hours of songs on my play list. I also explained that it was on the Spectrum Entertainment website and he should go pull it up. He then disappeared and went to an office at the wedding facility, to get online. When he returned he told me that I must not have saved the play list. I told him that I had been on the site many times to add to it. It was definitely saved. I also explained that Lou, Todd and I had a phone conference and Lou went over every song choice. Lou Guzzo commented on each song as he read over the list. Tom Russo's response was "well its not there, so what do want me to play". (Seriously???! In the middle of my wedding reception I was supposed to think of songs?) So I told him what I could and walked away. The rest of the night he basically played random music. (Thank God for requests!) Never verbally engaging the guest in anything fun. Very boring. No advanced instruction about when events of the night were coming up. Guests were trying to leave prior to the cake cutting, the bouquet and garter events and of course the sparkler send off. They just didn't know when anything was happening. The photographer also missed the garter toss because it was not announced until a second before it happened! How disappointing. I actually was asking people not to leave as they were saying goodbye. Eventually I asked my coordinator to tell Tom to announce the sparkler send off so there would be someone still there! Lou Guzzo at Spectrum Entertainment promised me that I would be pleased with Tom. That he would be fun and professional and upbeat. We were told that the he would be engaging and have a personality and keep the party going. None of that happened. We spent a lot of money on Spectrum Entertainment because the reputation was a good one. I could have gone with a less expensive company for the type of service that we received from Tom. Tom from Spectrum Entertainment seriously blew it! My guests had fun regardless but I new the issues that the DJ had. PS: I wrote basically this same letter to Lou at Spectrum on Monday and still have not received a reply. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! NOT!!!! read more

Spectrum is hands down the BEST all around entertainment company I could find. I met Lou at a vendor open house for my venue and immediately knew he was a great fit for us. We were able to book him for our wedding and the entire process was easy, and FUN! Spectrum also will help you set up videographers, string quartets and whatever else you need- they are a one stop shop! We booked Lou to DJ our wedding and had a great time working with him. He is quick to respond to emails and available for advice all the time. We had a meeting close to the date and he showed us how to use the online dashboard that kept all our details organized. This feature was really impressive to me, an online dashboard where I could fill out all the questions and keep everything organized in one place AND it shared it with my Dj. heck yeah! On the day of the wedding Lou had everything handled. He mic'ed up our officiant, played music in THREE different areas of our venue and none of it cost extra like other companies. Lou was fun, kept the energy going and seemed like he was having fun himself, which I loved! I cant say enough about Lou, and spectrum, and I spoke with Matt a few times too and everything with them is always great and all about what they can do to make your day everything you want. I have zero negative things to say and suggest anyone that is considering, BOOK THEM! you will NOT regret it! read more

Jimmy was our DJ for our wedding and we LOVED him. My Dad asked me to keep his card for when my sister gets married. Jimmy played a great mix of oldies and current music. My Grandmother even danced. Our dance floor was really large and I was concerned that it would be empty most of the night - I was wrong - it was packed all night and we had a great time. Jimmy and Spectrum Entertainment are amazing and I'd use them again in a heartbeat. Spectrum was hired for my wedding back in september. It was an absolute headache working with them, especially Lou Guzzo. I would not recommend them to anyone. Spectrum is not in the business of customer service. I did not receive my wedding video until 6 months later. The video did not have everything in it that was suppose to come with the package. Not only that, they refused to put footage in of some parts that I wanted unless I paid them more money. Spectrum lacks attention to detail which is of the utmost importance when it comes to people's most cherished memories i.e.their wedding day. I should not have to tell a videography to put in my full entrance. I shouldn't have to tell them to put in some dancing clips. I shouldn't have to tell them that there were video/audio sync issues and glitches, and that my name was spelled wrong. Some things they did fix and that was like pulling teeth. The highlight video turned out good, but the full dvd lacks special memories which spectrum decided to hold hostage. read more
