When I needed glass replacing in a window, I went in here for a quote and the guy exploded at me in anger for not coming in earlier in the day. I've never been told off before for being late as a customer! Anyone would think he was employing me, rather than the other way round! I used them anyway and they sent another guy round who replaced the window glass very quickly, so I don't know what all the fuss was about. (I suspect it had something to do with an afternoon football match.) I have also used the framing service and got a print reframed here for £20-£25, which I was pleased with. But when I went in recently for a quote, the guy handling the framing side didn't seem to know how to deal with more than one customer at once and just ignored me, even though the couple in front were busy browsing and he could easily have attended to me while they were making up their minds. I gave up waiting in the end and went home. A word of warning: beware asking the glass guy about frames or vice versa. I once made that mistake and got told in no uncertain terms that they are not responsible for the other half's business (a tad confusing as they share the shop, so how would you know?!). So watch out for shopkeepers with anger management issues! A handy shop to have on your high street, nonetheless.

Stopped in here, about 5 mins off the M27, parked around the back (they've got a car park) and found what I needed in 5 minutes. Five made to order, collected the same day (they've got a workshop on premise, seem pretty busy), nice quality finish. I'm back for another 2 this weekend. I was shocked when Tomasz Smyck from Express Windows contacted me out of…read morethe blue, nearly 2 years after leaving me with a shoddy and unfinished job in 2019. He apologised for his previous behaviour and explained that he had been going through some problems at the time and would now appreciate the chance to come back, to rectify and complete the work. He asked to come and inspect the job to note what needed doing. We arranged this visit. Apparently, the contractor now accepted and apologised for the fact that my job was left incomplete in 2019. He (and his partner) had reneged on their promises to return and make good the damage caused to my property during the installation (both inside and out), wasting months of my time and causing me great inconvenience and distress at the time. Within a short time, it became clear why he was contacting me again. He wanted me to remove the negative reviews I had left on various internet sites. I accepted the apology and agreed for him to return to repair the damage and complete the job. I agreed to remove the reviews once I was happy with the job. A couple days later, he came back to me and asked me to pay £250, which was the amount I had previously withheld, from the total £1500. I was actually shocked and considered this demand unreasonable, given the background. He had left me in a mess when he absconded from the job nearly 2 years ago and I certainly don't owe him anything! On the contrary, he owes me. I will also need a certification and guarantee for the job. For clarity I requested an agreement to be signed as an undertaking, before the work can proceed. After the work is completed to a good standard, I agreed (purely as a goodwill gesture), to remove the reviews. He refused to sign the agreement and wanted me to pay in advance for the replacement glass. I said I would pay half up front and the balance on completion, but that he needed to sign the document. Please don't deal with this company!!!
