I can't say enough great things about AHF. We first took our golden retriever in a few weeks ago…read morebecause he wasn't feeling well. The Vet and her team were so sweet and got our pup on medication after an X-ray and blood work showed that most likely it was back problem. Fat forward two weeks. We had to bring him back because he was getting worse instead of better. It turned out to more than likely being an aggressive cancer that wasn't really visible in images before. The Vet and tech were so compassionate. First, they were completely booked for the day when I called but took us right in. The Vet explained the different avenues we could take. After much tears, we decided we needed to give him peace. The team was so great with us and our pup. They made a hard day a little easier with how patient they were with us and let us take as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. He was our baby and a huge part of our lives. Having AHF help us through this meant so much.

The care, love, and patience they have and show my anxious dog is amazing. My dog absolutely used to despise going to the vet, now he just jumps out the car and walks right in with no push back at all. Loyal for 5+ years... but the moment I spoke up, I was shown the door…read more I've brought both of my dogs here for over 5 years and spent thousands along the way -- never once a "thank you" or any acknowledgment of that loyalty. Lately, scheduling visits and auto reminders disorganized with unclear communication. When mistakes happened, I calmly expressed frustration (no yelling, no cussing -- just a concerned pet parent trying to understand). Instead of listening or trying to make it right, they basically told me they didn't want to be my vet anymore. After years of trust and business, that's the response? Our pets deserve attentive care, and the humans paying for it deserve a little respect. I truly hope they improve how they treat long-time clients in the future.

I've gone back and fourth on if I should write a review... over all I'm disappointed. This place is…read moreexpensive, but it's close and they seem friendly, so if the cut was good, I'd deal. I booked an appointment to take my first dog in, explained what I wanted and they said "no problem, we'll ask you again upon drop off ". When taking him to his appointment I reiterated what I wanted. My husband had to pick him up, it didn't occur to me to make sure he knew to double check the cut was right. When they got home, I realized they only took 1/2 inch off instead of taking him down to a 1/2 inch, so his hair was way too long. I called about a week later (confirmed it was too long to, was trying to just live with it). I mentioned it when making an appointment for another dog hoping that giving them more business but letting them know the mix up would encourage them to fix it. He's itty bitty so an extra inch+ makes a huge difference, and he's missing teeth so he's a messy eater. I also mentioned it when taking dog #2 in... nothing. No offer to fix it, no discount, out $150 before the tip on two yorkies. Pretty disappointed, had they offered to correct the link, we'd keep going, because both boys came back happy, I just won't pay 20% over what we had been at the vet and gamble having to do it so soon again.

I am so disappointed in the new process for obtaining prescriptions. My dog has anxiety and takes…read moreSileo. Normally, I order it from Chewy for $37.04 (plus shipping). Now, Rockwall County Veterinary Clinic requires you to purchase from their pharmacy or obtain a paper prescription for any medication. If I ordered from their online pharmacy the cost is $37.04 plus shipping. However, with the 4th of July coming and all the fireworks, I wanted to obtain the medication immediately. I went to the clinic and purchased it for $56.95! What a scam! I did email the pharmacy at the address in the email on Saturday regarding picking the medication up at the clinic. NEVER received a response. Good thing it wasn't an emergency. I did request a paper prescription and was told it would take 24 to 48 hours to get it. The Vet I use was not in today and I was told only the Vet that sees your pet is able to issue a paper prescription. I was never overwhelmed by the office anyway, so this is just another reason to change veterinary clinics.

***PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT GOOD CARE WITH A FRIENDLY BUDGET***…read moreAfter our appointment today we will not be going back. We have been clients for a few years now and I have been on the fence about continuing care at this location, and today sealed the deal. Two weeks ago we had an appointment for an ear infection for our dog. We were told to come back within two weeks for a free check up- which we clarified with the Vet tech and the Vet herself that this would be completely free for the visit and the swab. Today my husband was told it was be a fee of $27. When he addressed that we were told by 2 employees and checked at the front before we left the original appointment that the follow up would be free he was told that within the 2 weeks they had "changed their policy" but would waive the fee for us this time.....they explained that only coming in to the office was free......respectfully....no shit walking into the office is free. I understand $27 isnt a lot of money, but it truly rubs me the wrong way when you can't communicate to your clients properly. So if you're planning on coming into Breckinridge Park Animal Hospital...do yourself a favor and get itemized receipts, written expectations and fees for follow-ups and record conversations since their policy changes happen so frequently that they can not make their clients aware. After reading other reviews it seems like they have transparency issues and are after any dollar amount they can get. All of their responses to these negative have been "we're sorry for your experience and we want to be transparent with all clients"......Interesting there's no follow ups about these issues being resolved.

Ok I can't say enough about my first experience with this vet office. I noticed my cat was bleeding…read moreand had a wound under her neck. I was so worried and didn't know what to do. I called a vets office. They were really nice. I show up in the place was no longer there so I called again hey let me know that that office had closed down and that they were another 25 minutes away from me and couldn't get me in soon. So I just did another Google search and found another vet office right off of 75 and 15th St. this place was dark and dingy. It smelled bad. I went ahead and stayed because my cat was in distress. The lady comes in doesn't introduce herself. I thought she was a doctor come to find out she was a nurse and during our conversation asked me to fill out a drop off form. It freaked me out. I haven't even met the doctor yet. There's been no treatment plan and they're already talking about wanting to keep my cat overnight. I did another Google search I found Breckenridge park Hospital and called them from the other doctors office. The lady was so nice professional. She even asked for my pets records from her vet, which I had faxed over to her immediately they were able to get me in an hour from the time that I called I grabbed my cat and got out of that office. When I got to the Breckenridge pet hospital, it was nice and clean and airy and people were nice but professional. I was able to go to the back after only five minutes of waiting. They asked lots of questions which is great!!! I waited maybe 10 minutes before the doctor got back there, which is nothing, especially in a walk-in visit like that the doctor Elias was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and i could tell if she cared. They cleaned the wound and bandaged and educated me on how to take care of her and when I get the bill, it was reasonably priced and I believe I paid exactly what I should have been charged. I can tell just by one visit that this place is loving and kind professional, and gives quality care to pets. I'm bringing her back in this morning for a check up, but I may be changing her veterinarian office. They've made such a good impression on me. I definitely recommend you taking your pet here.
