There is a guy selling 8" wood-fired pizzas in the $7-$11 range, lots of tie die and homemade jewelry, one fruit and vegetable stand, and a few selling sweets (fudge, caramel corn, etc). Not a great variety and not anything I could do without EXCEPT the lady selling stuff that keeps mirrors, windshields, eye/sunglasses, and other things glass from fogging up. The sign said 1 for $7 and 4 for $20, but she offered me 1 for $5 and 3 for $10, so I got 3. I love a farmer's market, street market, whatever market. Located in the heart of Waldport and it…read morecame up on the Trip Advisors of top things to do in Waldport - sure, why not? An eclectic selection of produce and goods. Pretty small market, maybe 30 vendors. One vendor that was a standout was the bakery. By the time we got there around 11 they were mostly sold out - good for them. This is clearly a go-to vendor for the market and the locals know about it. A couple of great produce vendors, we bought some wonderful tomatoes and blackberries from one of the vendors and were very happy with them. There a couple of food carts, mexican and a breakfast place, both looked pretty promising. Jewelry, woven baskets, re-purposed clothing, all worth a look. A couple of weird booths, one with non-authentic indian artifacts and a place selling some special glass cleaning product ala "as-seen on TV" type of product. If you are passing through, get there early to try the baked goods and score some produce for your road trip.

I hadn't been to Rice's in years. I don't know why. Part of it probably was convenience. It's…read morenot on my normal route. It's a special trip. I usually commute by bike, so that's a bigger deal, especially since it takes some cycling on less than ideal streets to get there. I recently needed some wound management supplies. On the way home, my friend stopped by Bi-Mart first. I am a big fan. They didn't have what we needed. We went by Rite-Aid knowing they are usually the most expensive. They apparently carried one of the items we needed, but they were out of stock. We did take note of the price. I waited in line to ask the pharmacist in case they had some other things in back that weren't on the shelf. They told me to go talk to the other part of the store as they just dispense medication. Another line, and I got a cold, "Nope; if it's not on the shelf we ain't got it." We were going to head out to the other Bi-Mart and Safeway next, but decided to stop at Rice's on the way. I am glad we did. My friend didn't want to stop there, but my friend's mind has now been changed. Not only did they have all the items we needed, the prices were much more affordable. Did I mention the staff is very friendly? No. I guess I didn't. Well, they are. Helpful and friendly. Even though it's out of the way, I think I'm going to tell my doctors to change all my prescriptions to Rices. If that helps keep them in business, it's a no-brainer. Small independent shop that cares about the community, unlike Rite-Aid which is a huge corporation - allegedly number 148 in the Fortune 500. Far more personable. It reminds me of growing up in the '70s. One of our neighbors was a pharmacist at an independent drug store nearby. We always used that pharmacy for the same reasons I'll always use Rice's now.

I love Rice's pharmacy because of their personal, small town feel. Someone is always available to…read moreanswer questions and although they're busy, they never make me feel like they're too busy for me. The drug store has all kinds of interesting items and gifts as well as the usual over the counter things you might need.
