Unfortunately, that version of DEA no longer exists. Since the sale of Full Out, the program has steadily declined. Routines were criticized as boring, yet nothing was done to improve them, and results reflected that lack of effort and direction. There are also serious concerns about how the gym is being run. Coaches have reportedly gone unpaid for months, and multiple experienced staff members have been let go. Most concerning was the firing of the athletic director just three weeks before Worlds--she was one of the only consistent, reliable coaches who showed up to every practice. Meanwhile, other coaches had outside jobs that prevented them from attending practices regularly. The program itself is shrinking quickly. Last year there were 8 teams (4 prep and 4 elite). This season that number was cut in half, and since the season ended, many athletes have already left. At this rate, it's hard to see how the gym will sustain even one strong elite team moving forward. Athlete management is another issue. There are no real tryouts for positions, and athletes are placed where coaches decide, regardless of readiness or comfort level. On my daughter's team, athletes were made to fly even when they were clearly scared, which raises concerns about both safety and coaching judgment. At this point, DEA feels unstable, disorganized, and in decline. If you're looking for experienced coaching, consistency, and a program focused on athlete development and safety, this is not the place. The only thing it still offers is a sense of familiarity--but even that is fading as more families and staff continue to leave.

A preschool for 1 & 2 year old's!!!…read more When I started the program last year with my 2 year old, I didn't really understand it; the whole learning-through-play, the parent education, the committees, Bates affiliation, and the real meaning of co-op/cooperative. But this one-day-a-week school really changed the way I am as a parent. This is my second year at the co-op, since I signed up my 1 year old. My daughter's love the sensory table-it changes often; cornmeal, rice, dry pasta, water, potato flakes, lentils, oatmeal, and more. The toys around the classroom are constantly rotated and every single toy has a specific purpose-nothing was picked up from Toys-R-Us because it looked pretty or was on sale. There is a lot of thought behind every detail. What motor skills are they using and what are they learning. The teachers are so lovely and sweet. The epitome of preschool teachers, seriously. I liked having the parent educators, because I constantly had questions about how to handle my rambunctious daughter. Parents don't go and simply sit and chat, but are led in discussions with your child and their age in mind, so it's all directed towards you being able to apply it now. This isn't a traditional sit-down-and-learn-letters sort of preschool. Midland really emphasizes the importance of play. As a parent, you learn the importance of play too, and how much children are actually learning while playing, which I was completely unaware of. My only regret is not starting this program with my first daughter when she was 1 years old.

Fostering a environment for children to be able to learn about themselves and the world with other children in the class. Teachers Erin and Jennie lead their classrooms with great care and thought. My son cole loves his teacher. I was able to attend a class and saw how he interacted with the other children and the teacher, and could tell he was in great hands. Midland follows a fairly similar schedule. Free play time to start, then the parents go and have their 'education' while the kids and the teacher play and work on activities. After this it is time to clean up and have a snack. Finally there circle time for songs. This is a wonderful space and with such caring and attention by the teachers and staff, it really feels great knowing there are places like this out there. As a parent however, there are expectations that you help out during the classrooms and on various boards and committees. Cooperatives offer a less costly alternative compared to non-cooperative pre schools where the costs are higher, but there is less parent involvement.

In all reality the machinery was broken and taken out of commission due to the damage it suffered a long time ago. Jeff failed to disclose the damage, maybe he knew, maybe he didn't. His actions afterwards speak leagues to his character and I would urge any and all to avoid doing business with this man. He took weeks to ship the item in the first place, nearly burning 75% of the return window waiting on actual shipment. The day after it arrived and I unwrapped the undamaged pallet I made him aware of the old paint & dust filled crack rendering the equipment scrap ( verified by the manufacturer to be non-repairable ) he stated it must have happened in transit ( how exactly?? ) he purported to have opened a damage claim with the logistics company ( as I later found out only to buy time ) but never actually did. Every time I checked in Jeff asked me to be patient, he was waiting on the claim to process. Once the return window closed Jeff turned into a ghost and I have been dealing with him fighting a very legitimate credit card charge back for months now. Jeff owes me $740.09 and refuses to be a honest and upstanding person. I have no doubt he runs his business with the same constitution. Jeff shipped scrap metal, lied about the condition, lied about filing a claim, and is lying to the credit card company about it all.
