Quite often I notice at HD people have to go through numerous pieces of wood to sort through the warped or crap pieces. No need for that here, everything looked great! Location can be hard to find, it's just off the trans Canada highway, turn where the McDonald's is on on Bowfort and it's behind the hotel.

The staff know their stuff and will work with you on measurements and ordering to ensure you aren't left short or break the bank and buy way too much. Keep in mind you can returned unopened boxes as well. They have a nice simple display set out so you can easily see what they have to offer for hardwood, engineered, laminates and cork. What isn't in stock at the store can be available within a few days . Often faster than you may be ready for! They also have a good supply of trim, doors and vents. I like to shop here for a couple of reasons. 1-It's a Bowness business and I like to support Bowness. This is a neighborhood that has had a lot of challenges with flooding and for some the perception of being the "hood". Well I think its a great hood and I want to support its local businesses. 2-The staff know their stuff and they always offer helpful tips on install not to mention throwing a 10% discount in on orders over a certain $$. It may not seem like much but hey its 10% I don't gotta pay so I'll take it and say thank you. 3 - the quality of their products and a great offering of Canadian hardwood. You may get a great deal on an Asian imported wood but nothing beats Canadian products in this dry as a desert climate we call Alberta. Not to mention uniform lengths and widths. Not saying there isn't awesome stuff out of the USA but hey, support our Canadian lumber market please!

I arranged for The Garage Door Company to replace the springs in our garage door. A young man…read moreshowed up. He removed the two long springs and replaced them with four shorter springs that appeared to have been used (see photo). The young man was clearly over his head as it took him the better part of two hours to complete the work; he spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone getting assistance. In the process he damaged the rail, bending it with pliers so the door would travel the entire distance; however it was very noisy. Garage Door Bill ~$950.00. I immediately called Action Doors, Calgary to repair the damage. The service technician from Action appeared within an hour. He removed the four springs and replaced with two new springs designed for the Action Door. The garage door was now functioning smoothly. Bill: $372.00. I tracked down one of the owners of the company about my concerns. He was very argumentative and threatening.

The repair was unnecessary if the original installer had done a proper job. The tech who repaired the sloppy workmanship from installation completed it in less than 15 min. Now the manger is billing for resetting limits and performing a complete service on a 6 month old door installation. Please avoid this company. Very poor customer service.
