Overall my experience with Lux windows has only led to stress and a damaged home. I was mistaken when I thought going with a big, "trusted" name would mean I would have less issues with the job. The product might be good but the installers make me regret going with Lux. Make sure you take pictures of your house and lay down cloth/tarp to project your house, or else you'll be in for another project or two. The workers clearly didn't care about my home when they did they job, wiping silicone and foam on my walls and appliances. Broken drywall - While doing the job the workers bumped into a wall causing a red mark on the wall and dented drywall. They also pulled out the drywall around the window causing a roughly two foot long crack in the drywall along a stem and paint along with two tears in the drywall elsewhere. Complete disregard for my home No drop cloths - Wearing shoes indoors and dragging garbage bins and other tools caused scratches in the floor Significant delays - Initial payment was May 9, 2024, job was complete July 25th 77 days later. I did ask for the job to be shifted a day later so between the payment and original scheduled date was 76 days. Sloppy work - The workers wiped their hands after handling spray foam and silicone on my appliances and painted walls meaning this has to be scrapped off. They tore off the silicone around the junction box for my internet and tv cables while moving a water barrel for the job. Finally, while the door handles are the original from the previous door, the door handles are difficult enough to open that my mom, a senior, thought they were locked when she came to visit. I've been told that I can break off a security tab to fix this but it seems like a pretty lousy fix after spending thousands of dollars on a door. The locks are Weiser brand locks. read more

I wavered between a 1 and 2 rating for Lux. We replaced nine windows with triple pane windows from Lux last November and were happy with the estimator and installation until May 7, 2024 when the large downstairs window in our walkout basement started leaking. We had a driving rainstorm and water was dripping inside our house. It took until October 16, 2024 to have this resolved (we hope). There is still some damage to the window frame that Lux told us someone would contact us to repair. It's November 14, 2024 and we're still waiting for a phone call. We did have a crack in one of the new windows last winter that was repaired fairly promptly. In the final analysis, I would not hire this company again. We spent nearly 30K on windows and were totally frustrated and upset with the repair process including the lack of phone calls from the company and lack of prompt response from the company. Lux does have a great salesperson, a wonderful showroom and I hope good quality windows. Keep in mind, according to one of the technicians, the windows are not made locally and spend eight hours on a truck being shipped to Calgary. I wish I had selected any one of the other three companies that bid on our project. read more

please do not fall for the 200 deposit for estimates on repair or service. The deposit only goes towards labour. Service and labour departments are separate if you're wanting to purchase and have some service that would mean to separate deposits. Even if you've been a previous customer and the windows need service on are from Lux. I trusted them because I have used them in the past. Please do not pay somebody for providing you service or product... that you pay them for when they provide a good sale. read more

Horrible experience. We had ordered our windows in March and did not have them installed until the end of November. We realized that everything is moving slow, so we accepted that and thought nothing of it. However, the promise that our bounds would fit by both the sales agent and installer were lies. We told the sales agent that we did not want the windows of the blinds couldn't fit or if they would fix them for free. His answer "absolutely! We will take care of everything, don't worry". That was a lie. The guys who installed it said the same thing...lie. As soon as he had torn out three windows he said the blinds wouldn't fit. He then left leaving us with no blinds and no privacy. Lux then said too bad give us our money. That was awesome. 14 thousand dollars and they could care less. They even broke a couple glued tiles in the kitchen and left a huge muddy mess on the deck...great customer service. Absolutely brutal experience. Most be nice to ha e the option as a company to treat people like that. I would never recommend this company. read more

I couldn't believe how many options of windows and doors they had available compared to the other companies I got quotes from. Built a duplex and used Lux windows, there were some problems early on with the exterior wood coming off windows and doors. Their customer service was pathetic they just didn't care. We have now had to replace all windows and doors, very disappointed in that product. read more

Got all the windows and doors replaced in my house through Lux. Did it over 3 years. Had good service from Lux with a few comments: - They held their price for an entire year when I had the remaining windows quoted in year 2 but did in year 2 and year 3 which was nice - Their project coordinator only called me like 20 hrs before they were supposed to show up to install some window to let me know they weren't coming. Turned into supply issues with Covid and such, but they knew there was a problem but did not have the courtesy to inform me of the issue going on. A simple call a week to two earlier identifying the risk would have been nice so I didn't have to book the day off and take it in waste. - In year 2, they replaced some windows and I asked the individual measuring that we want to reuse the blinds. Couldn't 'guarantee' it, but said it shouldn't be an issue. Installed the windows and blinds fit perfectly. Year 3 had the same request, but blinds wouldn't fit again.....called and said it's not their issue (it is in the contract). But talked it through with them. I took the blinds to Blind Doctor and Lux offered to cover a portion of them cutting blinds down. Appreciated the gesture. Be careful or consider the blinds you have and when you may be getting new ones. Could have gotten expensive if I had to order new blinds. - Installer in year 2 was not careful when removing one window and caused damage to paint and sheet rock in room... wanted to just paint a tiny spot if we had the paint handy. Clearly wasn't going to match the paint for the whole room as things faded over time. Spoke with Lux and they had their painter come in and paint the wall new (we paid for the rest of the room to be paid which was fair). Would recommend them, but a few points to be aware of. Price was comparable to other companies out there, so you can shop around. read more

I had 2 bay windows installed, and these people were amazing! They were careful to keep my tiles that I had, where other estimates told me they would have to rip them out. They were so professional, and cleaned up when they left, you wouldn't even know they had been here. The quality of their windows is perfect. I am so happy to have chosen Lux for my new windows, just wish I had called them with my other window replacements. read more

WE are disappointed in performance of new windows. We got 5 new triple pane windows installed in Oct/21 to replace 27 year old windows.. During this cold spell windows are icing up on daily basis which we find unacceptable.The cost of replacing windows is not justified as performance is not a lot better with regard to icing of windows. read more

Just a comment on Covid precautions at their show room. No staff were wearing face masks even when not able to maintain 6 feet separation. Otherwise the service was fine. read more

Ordered windows including installation. Got laid off work. Asked for supply only price (self install) with option of resuming installation. Lux provided supply only price but told that they would NOT entertain installation later, should change my mind. I was anticipating new job, to which I would resume original supply & install purchase. Given that they would not resume original supply & install contract, I cancelled order. No empathy, no return calls. I was charged a service fee for installer to visit site, to obtain accurate window measurements, prior to manufacturing, . Installer visited site without proper tools and borrowed my ladder. read more

Lux removed all the windows in my house all at once in the middle of winter exposing my entire house to all the elements on a freezing cold snowy day with the furnace blasting all day. Their workmen had no proper system in place and were constantly coming in and out. They tracked mud over the entire house, which had just been entirely cleaned, and left all that mud for my tennants to clean up. They told me the tenants tracked all that mud around, right to my face as I was standing there watching them, when the tenants were not even home. It was pretty obvious that Lux windows had no repect for me, my tenants or the quality of their work. read more

We will NEVER use or recommend Lux Windows...even to our worst enemies...their installers neglected the plans as well as did not recognize that they were installing defective product...but continued to do so...HUGE QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES=BAD SERVICE=BAD PRODUCT...NEVER AGAIN...Feel free to contact me if you are considering using them... UPDATE: After numerous calls, still no responses or return call - 2 years later!! NEVER AGAIN - There are many other window companies with much better product, installers and service. The workers came in in a freezing cold day (-20) and left the front door open while they worked. They took my blinds down to install the windows and never put them back up! For two months I have not had blinds on my bedroom or living room windows. Calls to customer service have gone nowhere.....still waiting! Useless! There are plenty of companies that do windows and that will also make sure to provide proper customer service after they have accepted payment! read more

When I was shopping for new windows Lux Windows came highly recommended to me by THREE different people who had their reno done by them and was thrilled with the results. I must say that my experience was exactly the same with Lux Windows. From beginning to end it was a breeze. The people in the office are so friendly and my salesmen was so great at explaining every detail; I could really tell that it was in deed a family business. The installers were so neat and tidy, and the finishing work was spectacular. I love my new windows. I would recommend Lux Windows over and over and over! read more

We ordered Windows and Doors (3) for our house renovation. We have had nothing but problems with the doors and the service is basically non-existent, for Lux dorsn't take responsibility for much. First, the salesperson sized the door incorrectly. We were doing winter installation and the old door and frame were removed, prior to noticing that the frame was sized as 4" rather than the 6" inch that we needed. Our contractor quickly did the alterations necessary to cover up this mistake. When I called Lux later, they refused to refund us the money or provide a new door and frame. We since got rid of it and got a better door from Home Depot. Secondly, the silicone on one of the bronze door frame cladding was lacking so I had to go pick up the tubes of bronze silicone and apply it myself. This is the way it was delivered from their factory (incomplete or poorly put together). I just called them today because the cladding is coming away from the second door frame (again, the cladding is done by Lux before it is shipped out of their factory). The first thing their service person tells me that there is a problem because they didn't do the installation. Again blaming our contractor rather than taking responsibility. They couldn't send anyone over within the week to repair this so we have to wait for more than a month to get this done Hopefully, we will have no issues with our windows because they don't stand behind their product. My only regret of the whole renovation was purchasing our windows and doors from Lux - they are the only supplier that has not stood behind their product! read more

Lux Windows was an absolute pleasure to deal with. They did an outstanding job of taking care of my renovation from start to finish. Loved dealing with a local family business; they truly care about their customers. I often wonder if the negative comments posted on this site are written by their competitors because there is no way that is the same company I dealt with.
