This was in 2021 when this was an issue. This ended up being untrue and everything was delayed. Install was finally completed in Jan 2022. Our patio door was the first issue that I noticed. We could barely open it. It took me over a year and countless visits by their techs to finally say that the door was defective. I stayed home for dozens of these technician appointments, missing work and activities/family time, and no one would take notes or submit paper work and it was ALWAYS me following up with the company for anything to be done. Their trim work is also done so poorly, it splits within weeks to months after install. They told me if I wanted it done nicely that I would have to pay extra. They also use a copious amount of caulk to fill in any gaps on the exterior. There was also damage to our walls and new flooring during the install. We had other windows done by another company as we were fed up with Ecoline. We had zero issues with any of these new windows from the other company. I am now dealing with our replacement patio door. It is bowed and now leaking cold air into the house. I have reached out to them Jan 20th and Jan 24th both with no response. I know this of course is going to be a painful process to get anything rectified and know that they will try and do nothing. They offered me the first time only 5% off any new windows for the headache. My question is, why would I ever want another subpar window poorly installed by them again. Lastly, they demand payment upfront and before any work starts. They will just stand there until they are paid. The employees told us, this is because the company will make the workers pay the company if a client does not pay. Highly unethical. A client should be able to pay once the work is done and you are satisfied, not before. There is no hold back in case poor work is done. I have lost countless work days, time with my family and energy with this company for them to rectify their issues. They are unwilling to make anything right. Stay away from this company. There are so many other great companies out there that deserve your hard earned money. Ecoline is not one of them.

When they came to inspect the work, all they did was fight me about nonsense of "what did the contract say". They beat me out of $6 in mouldings on a $6500 install. I was able to work from home in the next room and only a couple of times did I hear any noise that might have prevented me from being on a call. In addition our suggested placement of the windows would have made it look bad from the outside and Dale wanted to confirm the placement. After he pointed it out it made total sense and I'm glad we didn't discover after the fact the window should have been over 1/2 a foot after it was installed!

We are in the process of building a new house. Goodwin bid on a portion of the siding and after…read moremeeting the owner and seeing the product sample and pricing, we decided to go with them. This has been a mistake. The scope on this project was Installation of fluted composite product on the second floor of a residential infill build. The area to be installed was about 1/4 of the total wall space on the second floor along with some soffit area. The product we ordered arrived many weeks later than planned. When it finally arrived, it was not the colour we ordered. All of the packaging had been removed, except for one tag, notably stating that the product was from China, despite it having been marketed as from Belgium. We were told that this was because Goodwin recycled packaging and the sticker we saw was from another project. While I suppose this is possible, it strikes me as very unlikely. The product we did receive does appear to be good quality, however I am skeptical of its origin. Installation began on June 7 and it is now September 28, 15 weeks later and it is still not complete. I have received weekly promises from the owner that he will have someone on site 'this week' to bring the remaining material and complete the job, but each week, nobody shows up. I offered to drive to Calgary to pick up the material and bring it back to Edmonton, and he said he would call me to discuss this, but he has not. Goodwin seemed to struggle to find installers in Edmonton, and the ones they found did a poor job. The trim was supposed to have concealed fasteners; it did not. There were multiple deficiencies and visible cut marks around doors and windows. Then, the wrong (non-matching) color trim was put on the back of the house. The promised replacement trim material delivery has come and gone. There is no commitment to when the project will be finished. The owner has been apologetic and has said it will be finished. I hope I can edit this review in the future, with a positive outcome to this process. However, with so many missed deadlines, material inconsistencies and poor execution, there is no trust left in this process. He clearly bid on a project that he was not equipped to handle and we in good conscience could not recommend this company.
