Beautiful café featuring their own beans and a super vibey space! Screaming Beans is part café / coffee roaster, part electronic music exposition; there are photos and explanations of famous electronic music artists lining the walls, within both their cozy rustic space with brick walls and dim lighting, as well as the more open, modern space with a single large communal table and couch illuminated by a giant skylight. To complete the vibe, they also play soft house music / other chill EDM.
The coffee is delightful, with a lightly nutty and chocolatey flavor -- perfect for a latte. They don't have almond milk (my usual preference), so I ordered a hot latte with soy milk. I'm not sure if it's this specific brand of soy milk, but it didn't quite sit right with me for some reason. I could still kind of taste the coffee under the soy milk, but not as much as I would've liked to -- I definitely want to come back and get an americano or something with oat milk instead; either way, something to consider if you're normally a latte fan. I also tried a classic pain au chocolat for breakfast, and it was tasty -- plenty flaky, buttery, and packed with chocolate. The barista (who was remarkably friendly and welcoming) also recommended their normal croissant or banana bread if you're looking for other options for breakfast! read more
