This is a very small pizza place but super easy to find. Staff is friendly and pizza is made fresh. (Which is always a bonus) We came in yesterday and and being that it was our first time there, we asked some questions and started our order. We ordered an XL pizza (half Scratch Classic and half Buffalo Chicken), an individual size pizza with vegan cheese (for my 3 yr old), 6 piece Thai chili wings, and garlic knots. The pizza was pretty tasty. I'm not a big black olive fan but tried the Scratch Classic anyways as it is because my husband wanted it...the other toppings helped and made the pizza bearable for me. So not bad for having black olives lol. The Buffalo chicken pizza was pretty legit. Flavor was on point and apparently there's two ways for them to make it based on the description provided to us when we ordered...The "original" way or the "new way". We got the "original" way where the Buffalo sauce is placed on the dough, then cheese and chicken and cilantro. My daughter's vegan cheese pizza was a nice addition because most places don't offer vegan cheese and she was able to find enjoy a pizza with "cheese" on it that was not made at home. It was a treat for her but the only thing and reason why I gave them a 4 star is that the dough was a bit chewy so for her tiny teeth, she wasn't able to bite through it without having to yank the pizza out of her mouth. She is 3 so she didn't mind and thought it was funny. But overall, the pizza is not greasy like most places, which is nice. The wings were really flavorful and came with ranch. The Thai chili was really yummy but too spicy for my husband but he's a light weight when it comes to spice level but I enjoyed it lol. Also, the garlic knots was a hit with my 6 yr old son and he devoured it all. We will be back to try the other pizza flavors and wings and possible the cauliflower pizza dough too but next time, we'll probably call in the order before we come instead of waiting for it like we did this time. I'm surprised to hear some say the customer service is ok.... Because I stopped in there today because I saw the signs outside for their specials. The two boys working in there must absolutely hate their job! They were both so rude! They charged me 25.00 for a medium veggie pizza and even though I thought that was a bit high I didn't complain. However the veggie pizza comes with five toppings and they clearly had a special for an extra large pizza with five toppings of your choice for 12.99 that they easily could have mentioned but since I did not say I want the special they charged me full price. Again I'm not worried about the money as much as how rude they both were! I explained when I first arrived that it was my first time eating there so I was looking at their menu and the young man taking my order acted annoyed by me looking over the menu. There was nobody else behind me waiting to order. I was the only one in there besides one other person that was seated at the one and only table they have. When I asked a question he made it very clear that he did not want to answer a question about the menu or explain the specials. I never leave reviews as I am much to busy to take the time to do so. However, I could not believe the disrespect and rude behavior from both employees. They gave me no receipt until I asked for one because I couldn't believe the cost. I guess I would feel a little better about it if the pizza was at least good! I got charged 3.00 extra because I requested extra garlic. The pizza had almost no garlic at all on it! I had to literally look for it. I would say it was less than if you had ordered light garlic haha!!! They were very reserved on all of the toppings! Maybe I could understand it more if I had got the "special" price.... scratch deals are usually pretty good however I ordered the XL pizza with 3 toppings for $10.99. there was very little cheese and so many bubbles in the dough I wish I would have looked at the pizza when I picked it up. I also paid for an extra side of blue cheese and it wasn't in the box. I would have withheld the tip. Scratch came up on my Yelp search as the only one that delivers to us, apart from the common branches like pizza hut. It came highly recommended and I gave it a chance. Here's what I think: wow! I'm truly impressed. The crust is crispy, soft and chewy all at the same time - like the best kind of bread. They pride themselves in the handmade crust with no oil or sugar. Amazing! Take one bite and you'll notice that their toppings are really fresh. I just love the way they make it. We've only tried the scratch classic and the Hawaiian. Both are excellent choices. I want to try the BBQ chicken and the pizza el pesto next. If you're craving that super salty, dripping with oil type of pizza, this isn't your place. For around $20 you clearly get a pie worth every penny of each slice given. In total there are about 9 pieces to a large so it's well plenty for one or to possibly split. The ingredients taste fresh and I highly recommend the garlic parmesan crust. I did the online ordering and ordered a XL pepperoni pizza, family size cheese sticks, and a 2 liter of sprite for pick up. It was super easy and got an email confirmation right away. I kept hearing about this place on social media, so I finally decided to give it a shot. They were having a special for Pi day. 1 XL pizza with 4 toppings for $10.99! I ordered on their website, it was easy to navigate through and choose my toppings. In total I got 2 pizzas, 1 order of wings, and 1 order of garlic knots. I picked up the order about half an hour later and it was hot and fresh out of the oven. I really enjoyed the wings, they were fresh and the flavor of the buffalo sauce was perfect. The garlic knots were also good; they added fresh basil on top of them to give it that extra flavor. The pizzas were pretty good as well. I added garlic flavor to the crust for an additional price but I felt like there was a little bit of flavor missing from the sauce. All in all this is a pretty good pizza place. I've been a customer of the Riverside location for 2 1/2 years. Normally I pick up but once in a while I opt for delivery. Today was the most horrible experience I've ever had with Scratch Pizza. When I placed my order online, the quoted time to delivery was 60 minutes. (Door-to-door, I live about 6 minutes away.) Since people are usually hungry when ordering pizza, the quoted time is important and is watched nearly to the minute. After 75 minutes, I called to ask when I could expect delivery. I was told it would be delivered in 10 minutes. When my doorbell rang, it was 90 minutes after I had placed my order. At that point, I was fuming mad and rejected the order. My issue was not how long it took. My issue was that I was misinformed when I placed the order. Had I been informed it would be 90 minutes, I would have chosen to spend my $33 elsewhere. Maria was offensive, condescending, and insulting when I called the store. For instance, she told this 62-year-old Network Engineer, "If you know anything about ordering food, we shouldn't have to tell you it might be late. Other people are nice enough to be patient." I do not need to spend money to be provoked into anger or insulted. I can get both of those for free! As much as I love the food, I am too offended to ever order from Scratch Pizza again. They have lost a loyal customer because of a misleading ordering process, but more so, because of a seriously rude and unprofessional employee who knows nothing about customer service or how to talk to people. On top of the bad experience, now I must deal with my credit card company to get a refund. UPDATE: Steven A., the owner, responded to my email within less than one hour of writing this review and refunded my $33. I know firsthand how a rude and disrespectful employee can give your business a bad reputation without you ever knowing. We have been eating at Scratch since they opened. I wouldn't say they have the best pizza in Norco, but they are up there with the best. My favorite is the "Tuscany" one of their specialty pizzas. Just tried out Scratch Pizza's cauliflower crust pizza. It's an individual size. Portion size was perfect. Had I not ordered that crust, i would not have known it was made out of cauliflower. Their pizza is really good. Sauce was very flavorful and the cheese was portioned perfectly. I ordered the pizza with chicken and artichoke. They're not stingy on the toppings. The pizza had plenty. From ordering to table was less then fifteen minutes. Was greeted when I entered and one of the workers came around and asked how the pizza tasted. I will definitely be back.
