We come down to Texas once a week for work and always try to make a special trip to Amarillo for breakfast and tasty treats at Scratch Made Bakery. I always love walking through the front doors and being greeted with a smile and knowledgeable, kind, staff. It always makes me feel at ease during stressful business trips. Their selection of cookies and treats change weekly and I feel like a child on Christmas Day looking at what cool designs they have on their cookies on display! While the gourmet sweets and treats are always exciting, the array of breakfast foods are phenomenal (I recommend the green chilie hash brown casserole. And that's coming from a Coloradan.) There's no wonder as to how they won CupCake Wars, and there's no other place I would rather get my sweet tooth fill from. I placed an order for next week and will update my review with photos. These ladies really know what they're doing in the kitchen! They live true to their name in that everything is truly made from scratch. We had their version of Eggs Benedict-- a jalapeño scratch-made biscuit with lightly grilled ham and perfectly fried eggs...all topped with a Hollandaise sauce that was nothing short is perfect. So we were in Amarillo for a couple of days staying downtown. Decided on brunch before heading back out and Yelp didn't let us down. This was an excellent choice all around. Biscuit chicken was the special today at brunch. It was delicious. There was a light sweet honey glaze drizzled on top that provides the perfect amount of sweetness without overpowering the savory. It came with sweet potatoes and a fruit cup. Brunch comes with complimentary coffee, mimosas, and water. Everything is made from scratch. The atmosphere is lovely, and the owners are the best!! Let me start off by saying my food was good. Flavor was great. However, some of it was hot some lukewarm. It took an hour and 15 min to get my order out. Other tables got their food that came in after we did. It was difficult to flag down a waitress as we didnt seem to have one in particular. All of the staff seem to wait on all the tables. As a result service was poor. When we first arrived service was great. At we placed our order we were forgotten about. I was disappointed also that they didnt seem too concerned that we were dissatisfied. We were offered minimal apologies for our food taking well over an hour. read more

The food was very tasty and the live music in the background was a fun surprise. It was a very busy Saturday morning and our server made us feel it- all our interactions were hurried and she seemed harried. This, in turn, made it impossible to relax and settle in. Our order to ages to fill, which makes sense given the scratch motto and customer volume, but a simple smile and check in on the part of our server would have gone light years in making us feel, well, worth serving. We were here 2 weeks ago. The experience was so negative that I remembered to review it 2 weeks later. First of all, I think there may be an age limit to enter; I'm guessing that age is in the area of 30 or under. The first girl that spoke to us was kind at least, the second one was either yelling at us for cramping the restaurants "style", or highly caffeinated, we couldn't figure out which. They were out of the one thing that interested me - Quiche; Apparently the one thing that interested anyone. When they didn't have HOT WATER for tea I was blown away, but then when they didnt even have decaf, we were like oooooo k. Plus we were like 40 and a senior citizen and they were not havin' it at Scratch Made Bakery. Two thumbs down, mostly for horrible service. read more

Holy moly!!!!! Brunch was unreal today, best I have had in Amarillo. We started with the flavored water, coffee, and mimosa bar. For our meal I started with the BAC (huge cinnamon roll) with brown butter glaze. One of the best I have ever had and my mom is a state fair winning baker. For breakfast our entrees were the boats and huevos and the pancakes. Boats were delicious, a fun twist on an egg dish. The star of this already amazing meal was the pancakes. I think they put magic in them because they were perfect. Pictures I have aren't great because we dug in so fast. If you live in the area or are passing through this is a must stop spot. read more

I would give zero stars of possible. Went to this bakery/café for the advertised brunch. Once there, we were asked if we had reservations. No. We did not have reservations. Apparently this is a reservation only café. So there was not a soul in the restaurant and they would not seat us. Fine - I have no problem with a reservation only café. What I have a problem with is the fact that that information is nowhere to be found - not posted at the door, not on the website, nowhere. The other problem I have is the rudeness of the blue-haired girl who would not seat us. Will NEVER be going back. read more

This is my new favorite place to eat lunch. Everything is made from scratch. The chicken & waffles are off the charts! The chicken hand bread and fried to perfection. The waffles are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The taco salad looked awesome. read more

It feels like a low-budget restaurant. The food is good, but for the price, I expect better or more food, and food not to "run-out" (esp. pancakes...how does one run out of pancake batter?". Really good. Only been once- the key lime pancakes were good. Chicken crepe my hubby got and liked... I'm just not a fan of shredded chicken. Wish they had better selection in case ( desserts) as they were almost empty. Mimosas great. Will definitely go again. read more

We came in at 1:45 and they were sold out of almost everything but they said they could freshly make a giant donut for us. After only 10 minutes this massive donut came out in a cake box and omg it was heaven! It was literally the best donut I have ever eaten! Will definitely come back. read more
