If I could put less than one star I would. Worst place ever! Like the other negative reviews, just got fed up with the LIES, LIES and LIES. I bought a Samsung French door refrigerator and I even made the mistake of paying for a new replacement bottom door(because the one that I got had a pretty bad dent on it). To make a very long story short, after a lot of phone calls and back and forth with whoever answers the phone at that place (certainly not a manager or a responsible party) I came to the realization that the replacement part Mercer even existed. They did repair two of the four appliances but when it came to our microwave they blew us off for almost two months and yet it is still not working!! I bought two washers from them a month ago. One is working while making noise and the other hasn't worked since the first week I got it. They replaced the more problematic washer with an older, dirtier one which still did not work. Although I have a 3 month warrantee, when I call I keep getting the same run around and nasty attitude, and still nothing is resolved. I suggest avoiding this store and paying regular price at another store, but ensuring peace of mind. The only thing left to do is to settle this in court. read more

Saved a ton of money on appliances - but you need to work for it, and not everyone can stomach the risk. Full story: My parents' home in the NY Metro area had a water break that destroyed the kitchen. In replacing all the cabinets, walls and flooring, we decided to try and redo the entire kitchen, replacing 20-year old appliances. Of course, this costs much more than what we could afford. I wanted to do it badly for my mom's memory. So, I set out to find the best deal possible on a complete set of new appliances (fridge, gas range/oven, microwave, and dishwasher). I was nearly comatose from sticker shock at how expensive decent appliances cost. I used every bargain-hunting trick I knew, until I googled "scratch and dent appliances." This is how I found Scratch and Dent USA. The nearest one was in Paterson, NJ, so my dad and I dropped by. It looks intimidating, because it's just a warehouse/delivery area with big brick buildings and loading docks. We finally found the door which went downstairs. Inside, there were rows and rows of shiny appliances, especially Samsung fridges. Their pricing is extremely simple and straightforward and CHEAP. We bought the ENTIRE set of appliances there, saving about $500 on the all-silver Samsung microwave and dishwasher, and the Maytag gas range/oven. But it's the nice stainless Samsung fridge where we made a killing, saving about 50% off list price, which meant $700-800 in savings. So, what's the risk? We had a serious mechanical failure with the fridge, which Scratch and Dent USA did fix. But this made us suspicious of everything. So, we then suspected one of the shelves inside the fridge was missing. And then we thought the tray beneath the water dispenser was missing. Then we wondered whether the dishwasher kick plate below the door was missing, etc. It turns out we were wrong about most everything. One particularly embarrassing situation was when we thought the dishwasher was broken, because the water wasn't draining and started to stink up the inside. After some fiddling around, I realized the contractor who renovated the kitchen didn't pop out the drain in the garbage disposal. So, it was not Scratch and Dent's fault. But the lesson is to do whatever it takes to avoid problems, mostly for your own peace of mind, because part of you is thinking, "it's too good to be true!" Their delivery guys were pretty good and cheap, by the way. And overall, I really think these guys are honest, but they are dealing with returns, refurbs and B-stock merchandise. So, there's a lot of built-in risk. It's best to take lots of photos and TEST everything in the showroom. My last caveat is that we've had the appliances for only 3 months, so if there are any more issues, I'll update this review. Final thoughts: I have a feeling there will be many complaints after my review, because of the nature of Scratch and Dent's business model. But I wonder how many kitchen remodel jobs saved the contractor a lot of money because s/he used Scratch and Dent appliances and pocketed the difference. A professional like a contractor will know how to test the goods to avoid problems. So, if you shop here, you need to bring your buyer's A-Game. read more

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They sent men to my home at 11:00 p.m. in the evening because they delivered a refrigerator with the wrong doors. They came again on July 4th. Up until this day I do not have a working refrigerator and they do not respond to calls or emails. They are totally irresponsible and incompetent. THEY ARE THIEVES!!!!! They took my money and will accept no responsibility for the product they gave. I am suing them at this moment. read more

On November 16 my wife and I went to your show room/warehouse in Astoria around 5pm. We met with John the salesman. We explained to him we were looking to purchase a stackable washer and dryer as we had a stackable Maytag washer and dryer and the room it was in which had the water and power hookup had no room for a side by side. He suggested to buy the Samsung washer and dryer and indicated he had new ones at a different location but could ship them by Wednesday the 19th. We requested he give us the height measurements of the combined units to make sure they would fit floor to ceiling. We told John we would call him when we got home to measure the height in our wash room. We called John when we got home and told him the height 76" inches would fit. We paid by credit card over the phone The items were not delivered as promissed on Wed the 16th but were delivered on Thursday morning. We were told the delivery men would install the units and hook up the hoses and connect the hard wired power to the dryer They put the dryer on top of the washer but without any braces and the dryer extends past the depth of the dryer with only the front legs on the washer and the rear legs extending in the back over the dryer as the depth of the units are obviously different. They did not attach the hose from the dryer which I guess is for eliminating steam if that option is used. When my wife used the washer it was vibrating and moving on the floor since the shipping bolts were not removed. I removed them myself. The drier was slipping off the dryer since it had no bracket. I have researched the bracket used to stack Samsung washers and dryers and the models sent are not compatible. It is obvious that the units sold and delivered were not for stacking and not what we ordered. It is apparent John has not been properly trained and has no knowledge about the appliances. We requested an exchange for the correct alliances which are stackable and if not available your picking up what was delivered for a full refund. The owner Eric was nasty and uncooperative and has refused to take care of the problem although it was their fault For the few dollars saved it is not worth dealing with people that are so unprofessional read more

fridge stunk, and did not work, after hours of calling and loss of ability to use fridge to preserve basic food, they brought another one. Well second time around, 3 weeks apart. First time they brought wrong replacement. The current replacement, which im forced to use is in horrible condition. would not pay a dime for it, but i paid 950. Countless phone call, Eric, Brenda or Berta and other act like they are restarted and all they can say is that they will call back but never call back. I should of so bought my fridge, which i am planning to keep for a few years form bestbuy or something. total cost difference over few years stretch is insignificant. keeping your food in a normal fridge is. will never deal with them again. don's say i did not warn you. read more

Back in May 2013 I purchased a LG FRIDGE ,DW and KITCHEN AID stove. The fridge and stove work fine. My FIRST dishwasher leaked after installation so I traveled 120 miles round trip myself to get a replacement because I was getting jerked around about when the service dept was going to show up. I received an exchange which works OK but it came without a bottom kick plate, but the guy there at the time, and itsa different person every time you call said it would be mailed to me. That was in May, take a look what the date is that I posted the review. Still waiting, and the @&$%#! I just got off the phone with wants me to drive another 120 miles for something that would cost about 5-10 dollars to mail. !! This was at the Astoria location. read more
