There was a table with 2 non English speaking foreigners at the table next to us that decided to have a FaceTime call with a child at FULL volume with no consideration for the other customers. It was totally obnoxious. We asked to be moved and they happily accommodated us. We saw others asking to be moved away from the Facetimers as well. If I were management . . . I would have asked these rude foreigners to leave. But this place otherwise was great.

Walking in on a Monday and after fresh snowfall there was not many people in there. We were seated right away. The cool thing is they have 2 trackman bays for golf during the winter weather. The waitress said you can do an hour for $25/ 2 people. You do have to call the l pro shop to book a reservation. After looking over the menu, so many options, we decided to start with apps. Huckleberry pork spring rolls and bruschetta with naan bread. The spring rolls were good but would have like more of the huckleberry sauce on it. Or having the huckleberry sauce as the dipping. The bruschetta was good, it was a little on the Spicy side due to excessive amounts of garlic. It was also a little different having it on naan bread then having it on a Cristini. I finally decided on the buffalo chicken Mac & Cheese. My co workers had Huckleberry stuffed pork chop with a side of asparagus, and Bourbon steak sandwich, with a side of macaroni and cheese. I can't speak for them but my Mac & cheese was good. Great flavor with chicken, buffalo sauce, bacon and blue cheese crumble. Never would've thought to put this on the mac & cheese but it was great. Only negative thing I have to say about this was when my coworker got a refill on his tea and was stirring in his sugar there was flakes of something in the bottom of the glass. Other then that it was all good.

Place is pretty cool, since it keeps so much of its history, and the service is solid, but the food isn't great. I got a half sandwich and soup of the day, which was a chicken chile verde enchilada soup. The French dip was looking like it was sitting for a while under a heat lamp and semi dried out. Soup wasn't looking much better, and the chicken almost looked like a frozen package. Place is cool and great for watching a game and getting a drink, but don't hold your breath with food quality.

While this restaurant came highly recommended by everyone we asked, I hesitated at first because it wasn't a historic building. It seems most if not all historical restaurants are long gone. Ultimately, we decided to give it a try--and I am so glad we did! We shared the the shepherd's pie and bread pudding for dessert. We hesitated at first with the shepherds pie as it was not the typical recipe, this was made with lamb and topped with colcannon potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised when the kitchen thoughtfully split our plate for us. Because our friends weren't familiar with those potatoes, they settled on the fish instead, ordering the 2-piece and 3-piece cod dinners. They thought the fish was fantastic and the lamb shepherd's pie was absolutely delicious. The bread pudding was excellent too. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and we highly recommend stopping in!
