After my previous review was posted and I sent the review along with a request via email to have my…read morecase escalated, I got responses from Goosehead by email (about a 3-day turnaround) and on Yelp (several days after I received the email response). Arnolfo Rico (a service manager) was assigned to my case and helped, beautifully I might add, to resolve my long-standing issues. I was issued a $50 refund and everything I needed to have done back at the end of April was resolved in full (at this point in time) as of June 28, almost a two month turnaround. In summary: Had the account initially been set up in my name, rather than my wife's name, I suspect that I would have had 0 issues with getting all this set up. Also, in regard to definitions of responsibilities of the different positions Goosehead employs to handle client policies, I think it would be very beneficial, especially for new clients to know where they need to take their needs. I can not determine at this point whether this was my shortfall or if the company doesn't make this information as available as it needs to be when in situations such as mine. In my experience, agents (Luke) are responsible for finding competitive insurance rates when setting up a new account or when the term of the current premium is about to expire so that clients pay the lowest rates possible. Service staff (like Arnolfo) handle any changes or adjustments that need to be made to policies once they've been set up). Hope this helps y'all and thanks to Goosehead for helping me to resolve this frustrating situation.

I have been told the refund comes from the carrier and I have email documentation stating as such. Yet this morning 5/21 I was sent documentation from the carrier they Goosehead has had my money since 5/7 ! For 14 days. I even spoke to them on 5/19 to be told they still did not have my money which was a complete lie. STAY AWAY DO NOT USE THEM. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY

I've been with Goosehead for several years now. I read the…read moreother reviews about Doug Becker before posting my own, and I am not surprised at all. He does not respond, EVER, even when others tell you he will call you back immediately. They claim he's in a meeting every time, but that must be code for the Golf Course. The fact that these nearly identical negative reviews span several years, and Doug Becker retains a Goosehead Agency makes me wonder if the problem is actually with Goosehead's culture itself. Goosehead will soon get a Yelp review from me. I'm certain there are better Agencies within Goosehead. If you're commitment lies with Goosehead, you might want to avoid Doug Becker's agency in Texas.

There is another review stating they left because Doug wouldn't return calls or help. I found that…read moreto be dead on. Two years ago I used Doug and had a good experience and a good rate. That was the end of the good. Last year I had a hard time getting Doug to call me back about looking at my rates, which had gone up significantly. He said he'd look into it when it got closer (month away). I wanted to look at it then but made the mistake of trusting him. After I had to call him back again he finally told me he had looked at the rates and none were better. I'd had a parking lot accident the year before and he pointed to that as the reason my rates had increased $1000. Seemed excessive but ok.... Looking back I doubt he even checked rates. Late last year I bought a new truck. Started emailing Doug to have the truck added on and couldn't get a return email so ended up adding it myself through Progressive directly. I wanted to make sure I had best coverages through my Agent. Why have an Agent otherwise???? I finally got in touch with him via phone. He told me my old coverages were fine. Again I'm not sure he looked. And, he made lame excuses about email issues for the reason he didn't email back. At this point I'm not happy at all... Then the next insurance renewal comes and it's up another $1000 and has now DOUBLED in two years. I call and tell Doug I'd like to shop again and his response is that it has probably gone up due to hurricane Harvey. What? Ok... He says he will check rates and get back to me. I ask when and he says "soon" and that he's very busy and has other customers to check first. I tell him "soon" is not good enough I need a firm date and ask him to call by Friday (this is on a Tuesday). He was supposed to have called me back two weeks ago today. He hasn't called back yet. I didn't expect him to call back as the pattern was there so I've been shopping for insurance and found a rate that was $1200 less than what I had through Doug from another Agent. I guess Doug was too busy to help an existing customer. So I helped him as best I could and went elsewhere !
