From the very beginning, they were incredibly knowledgeable, talented, professional, and genuinely easy to work with. Planning a DIY wedding comes with plenty of stress, but Toan was hands down our easiest and favorite vendor throughout the entire process. Neither of us is naturally comfortable in front of a camera, but Toan has an incredible eye and knows exactly how to direct and pose you. He gave us simple, clear guidance that made us feel relaxed and confident, and somehow made even the least photogenic person look like a natural model. The entire experience felt fun instead of awkward. His photography speaks for itself. The photos are absolutely stunning and capture every moment so beautifully. His work is so strong that the images barely need any editing--they're timeless, natural, and simply breathtaking. Every photo feels like a work of art, and we know we'll treasure them for the rest of our lives. We also really appreciated how honest, flexible, and accommodating Toan was throughout the process. He frequently offered packages and special deals, which we were incredibly grateful for. Booking, scheduling, billing, and communication were always seamless, and we never ran into a single issue. On our wedding day, Toan and his team made us feel completely at ease during one of the biggest and most emotional days of our lives. They were calm, organized, and knew exactly how to keep everything running smoothly while capturing every special moment. His craftsmanship is worth every penny. Blown away by the magnitude of/number of customers coming in and out of the store. Different films available for purchase. Black and white is more expensive than color... Going into my maternity photoshoot, I had exactly one goal: get some nice pictures taken at a convenient location, in an outfit I wouldn't have to work too hard to put together. After going through dozens of photographer profiles on Yelp and feeling thoroughly overwhelmed, I stumbled upon the reviews for Khushboo at Shutter Magic. Almost EVERY review mentioned how Khushboo made people feel comfortable and relaxed before and during their photoshoots. That was all I needed to hear. I was sold! And what an incredible experience it has been, right from Day 1! First, Khushboo has the dreamiest collection of maternity outfits. She encouraged me to try styles I would never have picked for myself, and patiently let me try on different options until I found the ones I loved. She also connected me with makeup and nail artists and even helped my partner choose his outfit. She genuinely took so much of the planning off my plate! Then came the location. I had a very specific kind of setting in mind, and Khushboo went above and beyond to find it. Not only did she scout locations that matched what I was looking for, she also visited new spots and managed to find places with beautiful flowers. In the FALL. In the BAY AREA!! I still don't know how she pulled that off! A couple of hours before the shoot, she was already checking in on me, reminding me to rest and hydrate, cheering me on as I got my makeup done, and generally getting me excited for something I had initially been quite nervous about. And during the photoshoot itself? She was everything those Yelp reviews had promised and more. She made both my partner and me feel completely at ease, never rushed us, and somehow managed to capture us exactly as we are. The resulting photographs were more magical than anything we could have imagined! I went into this experience wanting a few nice maternity pictures with minimal fuss. I walked away with beautiful memories, photographs I'll treasure forever, and a newfound appreciation for what a wonderful photographer can bring to the experience. I cannot recommend Khushboo enough! I'm already hoping to have her photograph our family for years to come.

Disappointing Maternity & Newborn Photoshoot Experience…read more We had a very disappointing experience across both our maternity and newborn photoshoots. For the maternity session, there was no proper pre-discussion about locations or outfits. We were simply asked to choose from previously taken images, which felt impersonal. During the shoot, the session felt rushed, and the photographer appeared disengaged, as if they wanted to finish early. From a 2-hour session, we could barely select around 10 usable images, which reflects the overall quality. We also noticed technical issues with the camera, including frequent error messages during burst shots. For the newborn session, we had informed them in advance that we would be about 30 minutes late due to our baby's doctor appointment. Despite this, one of the planned props was removed, which felt inflexible given the circumstances. There was also a significant delay of about four weeks beyond the expected timeline in delivering the edited images, without clear communication or accountability. After delivery, communication continued to be frustrating. We received emails indicating additional charges if image selections were not made within 30 days, which felt pressured--especially considering the delay in delivery was on their side. At the same time, when we requested a re-edit for one of the selected images, we had to follow up multiple times and did not receive timely responses. Additionally, some comments made during the newborn shoot were uncomfortable and inappropriate. Remarks about the baby's skin tone and comments regarding the mother's feeding choices were hurtful and unexpected, especially for a one-month-old baby. We expected a much more respectful and sensitive environment. There was also no prior discussion about props for the newborn shoot -- only a couple of setups were pre-arranged, and we felt limited to those options. Similar to the maternity shoot, the overall photography quality did not meet expectations. From a 1.5-hour session, we could barely select around 15 images, and the editing felt very basic, with some images appearing minimally edited. Given our experience, the overall service felt unprofessional, inflexible, and lacking in quality. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments, and we expected a much more thoughtful, skilled, and supportive experience. Also, please don't go based on Instagram followers alone -- our experience did not reflect the expectations set by their online presence. If you are looking for a photographer who communicates well, provides guidance, and creates a comfortable and enjoyable session -- especially with a newborn -- this may not be the right fit.
