After 4 hrs, and repeated attempts to try and get ahold of this other company, I went searching for a different company to assist me. The receptionist at 4-Star answered promptly, and within minutes, I had Daryn C , the electrician, booked 1st thing Wed AM.( the next day) Daryn arrived promptly, identified himself, and we walked thru the issue. He confirmed the cost of the job, and obtained necessary supplies within 30 min of arriving. He also was able to offer different suggestions in case we needed to update our lighting system in the future, as our fixtures were becoming dated. I found Daryn to be very polite, and with over 14 yrs of experience - to be a very capable individual. We have found our new go to company for our business repairs...

He also did a load calculation as part of the site inspection which the city inspector needed to see as part of the permit process so was thankful for his foresigh! The interior work was done ahead of the delivery and you would never know they ran anything new it was that well done. The day our hot tub arrived, it was a very quick connection and he did a great job to hide the cable as best he could given the location of the tub on the pad and the options for drilling into the tub to run the wire. Overall, we are extremely happy with the service and the quote was very fair based on the other quotes we got. What made us decide on dealing with Mike is his personal approach and his fantastic communication and timely follow up. I would highly recommend Mike for any of your electrical needs.

"Assurances" and "peace of mind" are worth their weight in gold. This is especially true when one…read morehas to know that one's skill level is far less than adequate for what the job demands. Nothing could be more true than in dealing with electricity: things simply have to be done right. When I contacted Neil, the work to be done was not major; it was less than the ability of a Master Electrician. Yet this is the first assurance a home owner can have, i.e., talent beyond what actually is needed. The second assurance Neil gave me - in having to do some electrical "detective work" - was that he he would not leave until the job was done. And this was less than 24 hours after my first contact with him. So, yes, I am very pleased with how things turned out. I would anticipate that this is the standard Neil sets in everything he does.

He didn't just fix the problem, he showed us what we did wrong and how to fix it ourselves next time. A super kind and gracious professional (wish I could remember his name!) We had Harry come out for two days to do some work installing a steam shower and other little things that were befuddling us. He was superb. Again, super kind and gracious. He worked efficiently, explained things to us patiently, even got on the call with a plumber to arrange their part of the job. I would contact Colz for any electrical work, big or small. If safety in your home is a big deal, the only electrical company to ever call is Electrician…read moreMagician. I once heard the owner say, "check your electrical panel at least once a year. Listen for buzzing and if you hear some, call us right away." I checked my electrical panel when I got home that day and sure enough I heard buzzing. You're not supposed to hear buzzing. I called the Electrician Magician and the very next day - the owner himself was standing on my porch at 8:00am with tools in his had. Long story short, the buzzing in my panel was coming from a faulty breaker. I learned the buzzing is actually a fire hazard so I'm glad I checked... so should you. Before Neal left my place I showed him an electrical outlet in my basement that didn't work - in fact it never worked. Two years ago I had my basement finished and that outlet have never worked. How frustrating is that? I've even had the electrician who wired my basement in the first place look at it... and he couldn't figure it out either. I didn't think there was a solution... I just figured Neal would say - I can't see behind the dry wall... if it doesn't work it will never work. Here's the magical part... Neal asked me a few select questions about how my basement had been wired... I vaguely recalled... and three minutes later the outlet was working. Neal opened up what I thought was a random outlet and found a wires that weren't connected. Holy crap was I ever impressed! My breaker was replaced for a new one and now I had an outlet back that I couldn't use before. I've called on the Electrician Magician a few times since. I've referred them to others. They're great. They truly care about your safety. I think they really are magicians because my problems magically disappeared...

I am 73 year old handicapped widow. My furnace stopped working when it was -20C outside the day…read morebefore a man was found dead in his furnace room in NE Calgary. I couldn't get any advertised 24/7 emergency repair outfits to answer their phone. It was 1AM and the fire department dismissed my vulnerability telling me to call a plumber when no emergency plumbers were answering their phones. When I finally got a plumber who had worked for me before he came out to try to convince me that I needed a new furnace. He said he would come by in a day or two to fix the limit switch that needed replacing. Left alone in the house without a working furnace, I thought I better get a second opinion. Bowness Plumbing and Heating was recommended as an independent old school company that did good work st reasonable prices. I called Mitch Hurd around 3:30 AM and was surprised he answered the phone himself. I asked him to come to diagnose the problem so that I could submit a request for financial assistance to fix the furnace from Alberta government Senior's Assistance program. What I was really after was a second opinion on the face of the cost of a new furnace. My furnace was mid efficiency only about ten years old. He agreed to come to provide a diagnosis for $350. I felt that would be money well spent in the face of the costs of s new furnace. He came within 40 minutes. I was on the other side of the furnace anxiously telling him to hurry up to not go over the half an hour for $350. He was a pleasant person to chat with. When he was finished I gladly paid $350 in view of the costs of a whole furnace replacement. You probably won't believe what happened next. Mitch Hurd is a man you just can't help but love. I know I do. As he was going out the door he said, "Ella. I already fixed it. I was here anyway. Your furnace is not a dud. A limit switch replacement is common. Don't worry about it now. Your furnace is fixed". VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I will never use another plumber in the years I have left in this life. Calgary, we are very lucky to have him. His company doesn't show up at the top of online searches. Just try to remember Bowness Plumbing and Heating.

Customer service isn't just about what you do when things go right, its just as important (if not…read moremore so) how you are treated when things go wrong. My hot water tank was installed quickly and properly, things went a bit south when my main shut-off valve broke when the poor guy tried to turn it back on. This is not the fault of the installer, my house is over 100 years old, and (as i learnt from the plumber later on) that valve was installed before the 70's so at 50 years plus, I can't say it's anyone's fault it rusted away. The point is, Flash Furnace was on the phone, helping me find emergency service, calling in favours, and really just being a person at the other end of the line as I (being a first time home owner) freak the F*** out over how to resolve a domino effect of problems I don't know who to call over. In hind sight its quite funny how everything went wrong, but at the time, Flash was there to help as much as they could and be over-all pretty rad people. Anyways, they were all awesome, and I would recommend them for any furnace/hot water tank needs. FYI, they are cheaper than home depot quoted me, for a better quality tank, and better service. Aces!
