This review is about the booking process. I phoned to re-book service as I was very pleased with the work that was done and I was politely told that my home falls outside of the service area even though 4 years ago I had the service done. On the website it clearly states that Airdrie is within the service area but in looking at the map the service area is only on the east side of the QE2. I asked to speak with a manager to see if there was a mistake and again was politely told that unless I had a postal code within their service area that a manager could not be contacted. I am very disappointed that the service area doesn't include all of Airdrie and I find that really weird, either the company services Airdrie or it doesn't.

I am 73 year old handicapped widow. My furnace stopped working when it was -20C outside the day…read morebefore a man was found dead in his furnace room in NE Calgary. I couldn't get any advertised 24/7 emergency repair outfits to answer their phone. It was 1AM and the fire department dismissed my vulnerability telling me to call a plumber when no emergency plumbers were answering their phones. When I finally got a plumber who had worked for me before he came out to try to convince me that I needed a new furnace. He said he would come by in a day or two to fix the limit switch that needed replacing. Left alone in the house without a working furnace, I thought I better get a second opinion. Bowness Plumbing and Heating was recommended as an independent old school company that did good work st reasonable prices. I called Mitch Hurd around 3:30 AM and was surprised he answered the phone himself. I asked him to come to diagnose the problem so that I could submit a request for financial assistance to fix the furnace from Alberta government Senior's Assistance program. What I was really after was a second opinion on the face of the cost of a new furnace. My furnace was mid efficiency only about ten years old. He agreed to come to provide a diagnosis for $350. I felt that would be money well spent in the face of the costs of s new furnace. He came within 40 minutes. I was on the other side of the furnace anxiously telling him to hurry up to not go over the half an hour for $350. He was a pleasant person to chat with. When he was finished I gladly paid $350 in view of the costs of a whole furnace replacement. You probably won't believe what happened next. Mitch Hurd is a man you just can't help but love. I know I do. As he was going out the door he said, "Ella. I already fixed it. I was here anyway. Your furnace is not a dud. A limit switch replacement is common. Don't worry about it now. Your furnace is fixed". VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I will never use another plumber in the years I have left in this life. Calgary, we are very lucky to have him. His company doesn't show up at the top of online searches. Just try to remember Bowness Plumbing and Heating.

It's super important to me as a Grandmother to feel good about the quality of air my new family member is taking in! Especially because of the horrible things you hear of that is shoved into the ductwork of a new build. This man spent 45 minutes sealing the ductwork (that he is not normally paid for) because it was not done properly by the builders. It was just enough to pass I assume a "paid off" inspector. These homes are going up so fast things are barely if at all done to code. The furnace is 10 years old now and the motor is leaking. But Keith is honest and top notch. This business deserves the awards that has been listed on the website. Most of all for being honest, honourable, living up to its word and treating the clients with respect and generosity. How much more can you ask for? If you are needing your furnace maintenances and ductwork cleaned I cannot recommend this business enough. I am so impressed. Side note: Renters are so desperate that they are like me paying out of pocket to bring the rental up to a standard of quality that it should be mandatory by the city of Calgary. Landlords are having a hard time especially because of the higher taxes and interest rates collecting from the owners. It's sad that when asking a landlord to replace a ( black) moldy rubber seal on a washer. Have the black mold cleaned out of the detergent container, channel and barrel only to a response "that he can not afford to pay any more to up keep his investment" sadly because of inflation and the rent barely covers the mortgage at this time. I know the City of Calgary can do better!
