I originally called a different electrical company, that our business had used in the past. I explained the lighting issue we had, and it was actually a safety issue. After 4 hrs, and repeated attempts to try and get ahold of this other company, I went searching for a different company to assist me. The receptionist at 4-Star answered promptly, and within minutes, I had Daryn C , the electrician, booked 1st thing Wed AM.( the next day) Daryn arrived promptly, identified himself, and we walked thru the issue. He confirmed the cost of the job, and obtained necessary supplies within 30 min of arriving. He also was able to offer different suggestions in case we needed to update our lighting system in the future, as our fixtures were becoming dated. This is the 3rd time I have had this outfit out at my home for electrical work and they never cease to impress me. This time it was my central vacuum system acting up again by not work at all. It's nearly 18 years old now and flimsy wires seem to be a problem. Nathan was our service electrician on the first job and we were delight to see him again as he is awesome. He corrected the issue by redoing all the wire splices that the builder's contractor botched years ago, but did point out that it could happen again in future so he provided a reasonable quote for running new cables. We were also surprised in 4-Stars service warranty which covered the cost of Nathan's bust and work. This is what I call integrity; they came out before an fixed it and then when it failed again they come out an fixed it, again and warranties they're work. read more

We were having an issue with our indoor sensor light. John Molyneaux was the technician sent to our home. He was polite, courteous and thorough in his work. The weather was not great that morning but he was on time. He answered all my questions and figured out the problem and fixed the issue. We will definitely use this company again. read more

They were to re-do our home - with new Electrical - Plugs and more. The Switches were mostly all installed reversed - why the Lights didn't work on the devices - Sensors would not turn on or off - and there were major problems in the Main Electrical Panel - I rate the work done - 1/5 - and I Do NOT Suggest they work on anyone's home - until they get more training! The end result cost us close to 10 Grand more than the quote to - correct and fix - and make the home safe ! Bad Job ! Bad Bad !! Thankfully - Elk Electric was able to come out - and get the home - up and workable - and reconnect and redo - much of the work ! Double GFIs made for tripping for no reason - and so much more that could be said ! Home Owner ! read more

They gave me their "straight forward price" and that's exactly what I paid. They also completed a check of my smoke detectors at no cost and guess what, they had actually been expired for a while. 4-Star is awesome. As someone who has worked with hundreds of tradesmen through my previous job, I can tell you that these are the most professional tradesmen I've ever seen. They have the cleanest, tidiest truck ever, are very put together and wear photo ID. I was so impressed. They had a big job at my house and brought in as many guys as they needed to get the job done on time, no extra charge. By accident, a light fixture was broken when they were replacing wiring and they had fixtures in the truck for us to choose from, which ended up being even nicer than the fairly new one they replaced. This all happened so fast that I barely noticed there was an incident. They were so great that this didn't even phase me. Months later, I had a home emergency in winter and didn't know if I needed electrical service or furnace repair. I called for advice and they sent someone within the day, who was able to fix the problem. They made me a priority because I was a previous customer. Again, this guy was just as friendly and efficient as the others on-site the first time. 4-Star was recommended by my friends, who obviously thought they were great. My neighbors have also used them since their last visit to my house and love them too. read more

First the employees were super friendly so this is why they got 2-stars instead of 1. Mostly I had to refuse them for completing my work because they charge way too much. There was only going to be one person doing the job that would have taken a few hours. They wanted to charge me over $200/hour for the work (rediculous). For mostly just putting ends on RJ-45's and TV cables. I told them that there is more than enough info on Youtube to do this myself than for me to consider their offer. I kindly refused and told them to have a nice day. They said they are trying to help Westridge's old customers old customers out because they went out of business. Well at the rate this company is going, I will have no pitty for them when they go out of business. read more

They did a good job on time but were VERY pricey. I would get more then one quote next time i call an electrician because 4 Star got paid a lot per hour even though they quote a fixed rate per job. They charge 60 dollars for providing the quote which makes you pay money up front. This motivates you to not shop around. They are taking advantage of the nieve consumer. I say this, since i have been a general contractor for years and have hired many electricians in my day. I feel they did a good job at an unfair price. Still unacceptable in my books. Plan ahead your reno so you don't need last minute electrical and end up hiring a company like this out of necessity. My clients had no option since they just got the house and want a quick possession before Xmas. read more

I had 4-Star come to my house to have the under-counter lighting hooked-up. I decided to not proceed because I thought their pricing was out-of-line. Getting them out of my house was the challenge. They were trying to up-sell me on replacing smoke detectors, servicing panel, and other... these kids were one step away from trying to sell me a time-share in Vegas. They showed up on time, and presented themselves in a professional manner. However I've had the exact same electrical work done, and these guys were more than twice the price. Without even asking, they opened up my electrical panel. Then they tried to upsell me on an expensive tune up, and when I wouldn't budge on that they tried to sell me a $6,000 complete panel replacement. I've done Construction in my life. I know when something needs to be replaced, and when I'm being bullsh@$€%#!!! Because of this I am soured on the whole experience, I do not recommend this company. read more

Couldn't be happier with 4 Star. Had them out to see if we could add some light to the living room. The guys were very knowledgable and had some great ideas. Ultimately we went with some LED pot lights which they put in without damaging anything. Having everything priced up front was great too when it came to making the decision. I have had other trades people in my homes over the years and these guys blow everyone else away. I will definitely have them back for any future electrical work. Recently found out there are some great automation and remote control options for lighting as well looking forward to finding out what they can do. read more

I am in agreement with the other posts saying that 4 Star Electric is overpriced, and more than anything, they use a bullying technique to acquire the job. As one person said, they are worse than timeshare salesmen. The electrician had my head spinning and fast talked in hopes of getting the go ahead. They come to your house, for $60 and only write up a quote from menu pricing style. The electrical plugs were not working in our case, nor the light on the fan. Their quote was around $550 for diagnostic check and fixing one outlet. The problem was a breaker. Once flipped on, the plugs worked. What kind of electrician and company would charge over 500 to flip a switch. Shame on 4 Star. Zero Star is a better name. read more

Luke and Nathan came and installed a light and a wifi programable thermostat today. They quoted a price before doing any work. Some other companies charge per hour. The thermostat needed an extra wire to the furnance. This was taken cared off. Luke helped program the thermostat and waited until the wifi was working. Some companies would let you set your own date and time but Luke did it for me. They cleaned after the job. They did a thorough electrical inspection of the house which was included with the service. The work was extremely professional with a very reasonable price. Definitely would recommend 4 Star Electric to anyone. read more

My experience with four star was very negative. First they are ridiculously expensive. Second, the electricians I had could not, literally, change 5 light bulbs. They got the voltage wrong on the bulbs, then told me the transformers weren't working. They attempted to replace the transformers with ones they told me would work but they did not work and were then forced to tell me that they had put in the wrong voltage. This took all of 2.5 hours. It was a complete joke. I have had these bulbs replaced many times before by other electricians and while tricky, they did job under an hour with much less cost. This company had been recommended to me. I will never use them again and I strongly caution against using them in the future. They will try to up-sell you things and ask to look at things that they were not called to look at. If they touch anything it's an 86$ charge. Seriously, wait and try another electrician. read more
