I decided to check it out on a Saturday afternoon after I had got a haircut at Great Clips and then did some grocery shopping at Walmart. This CIBC has a drive-thru. I used it to check my balance. I don't do a whole lot of banking with CIBC these days, but I do have an account. It was straightforward entering it. Deposits are envelope-free at this ATM. You can withdraw CAD or USD, depending on your needs. It's similar to the CIBC ATMs that are at Pearson International Airport. It's nice that the bank has opened it up to more ATMs that aren't at the airport. This branch is closed on weekends. You can still go into the branch to use the ATMs if you won't want to do the drive-thru. Regular banking hours are from 9:30 am till 5 pm on weekdays. The branch has accessible parking, which allows a wheelchair to go up a shallow ramp to the main doors. There's a button that opens both doors for access into and out of the branch. There is plenty of parking around the building. I parked in the back aisle to take a look at the branch before I left. I'm glad that I took a closer look at this bank. It was nice to not drive away like I normally do. It's good to know that this CIBC exists. (218)

On Wednesday evening, I was in the area. I needed to deposit some cash. I spotted this Scotiabank. Perfect! I normally hit the drive-thru, which this branch has. For some reason, I was possessed to park my car in the parking area in front of this branch and walk in to use one of the ABMs. Bad move. I looked at the two signs on the branch's door. There was one sign for ABM hours of operation. I looked at the branches hours of operation. Both were identical. What a bummer. I guess that if you don't have a car and need to use the ABM, you can just walk up to the drive-thru one to do your banking. You just need to exercise caution that you are sharing the drive-thru with vehicles. I got back into my car and hit the drive-thru. It appeared that you have Cantonese support at this branch when it's open, as some of its services were written in both English and Cantonese. I pulled up to the ABM. I would have been sad if the ABM was not operational and I couldn't use any of the ABMs in the branch when it's closed. Luckily, the drive-thru one was working. I have a Tangerine debit card, so I can use it at any Scotiabank to do my banking. I had my bills deposited to my chequing account. Done! It was nice dropping by. It's a shame that you can't use the ABMs in the branch after the bank has closed for the day. At least there's the drive-thru ABM that's available. (270)

Two hours later we notice a debit of $720 entitled 'mortgage payment'. We knew this was an error as we had just paid our mortgage a few days ago, as well, this amount was completely different to our usual payment. We call the Scotia hotline and are told there is nothing they can do, we need to go to the branch. Drive all the way over there to be told 'sorry, its human error. The teller accidentally paid someone's mortgage from your account after you left as the account wasn't logged out of'. Um, what? You're a bank and you can't ensure that you log out of patrons accounts before completing the next transaction. A complete waste of our evening rectifying this. I understand, to an extent, human error, but this is just idiocy and scary to think of how many people get fleeced by such 'errors'

This RBC Royal Bank branch has been here for eons. Within the last year, it was closed for renovations. Frankly, I feared that it was closed for good. However, my parents do their banking here and their was no change made to their branch. Yay! When my parents bought their current home decades ago, my dad switched banks from TD (before it merged with Canada Trust) to this RBC. Their account is a joint one for expenses, but it's my dad's main one. One main reason why they chose this account is that their mortgage at the time was with this bank. They paid it off many moons ago. They felt comfortable banking here because staff spoke in English and Cantonese. Mandarin-speaking staff are also available. I come here occasionally to use the ATM. There is customer parking around the building. This branch has two ATMs. It can get busy if you're here during peak hours. I tend to be here during off-peak hours and haven't hand any issues. There is a night deposit box. This branch also has safety deposit boxes. You may want to call for availability if you need one. This building has a few floors. This RBC specializes in customer banking services and co-located corporate services, such as RBC Dominion Securities, which is on the fifth floor. It's not a corporate office. It's a cool branch. This Scotiabank branch is located at Malvern Town Centre. It faces Tapscott Road and is located by a mall entrance, with Hakka Pavillon on the other side of this entrance. I was heading out after having a leisurely lunch at the food court and passed by this branch. I hit an ABM to take out some cash from my Tangerine chequing account. Transactions are free at any Scotiabank. What's cool about this branch is that it has three ABMs. Many Scotiabank locations have two. It's nice to have the extra one. There was a lineup for teller services. I left at around 3 pm. On Saturdays, the branch closes at 4 pm. I like that this branch opens at 9:30 am every day, except for Sunday when it's closed. When the mall and this branch are closed for the day, there's a door outside that is unlocked till 11 pm every night. You can enter this door to use the ABM. The ABM side of this branch was clean. It had a garbage bin next to each ABM, which was a nice touch. I had no issues withdrawing money from the ABM that I used. It was great dropping by this branch. I'd return when I'm back in the area. This branch requires that you exit The Origin and enter the branch off Enterprise Boulevard. If the weather is horrible, you have no choice but to brave the elements to get to this branch. Parking isn't terribly close if you have mobility issues. You are better off hitting an RBC away from the downtown area where walking from your car to the branch entrance is minimal. These details made me deduct a star. Otherwise, it's a nice branch. I like that there's a shallow ramp to get to and from the branch for those who have mobility challenges. I also like the ramp between the two doors to get inside the branch. Thoughtful planning was done when building this RBC, including the buttons to open the doors. I was there on a Saturday afternoon. I used the ATM to do a transaction. The screen was crisp. I could use the tap rather than inserting my card. The transaction was seamless. There are two ATMs in the lobby. You can access them 24 hours every day. I don't do a lot of banking at RBC. It was nice to finally check this branch out at long last. Teller services were closed when I was there.
