The bank charges him 6.95 every month, which puts him into overdraft, they replace the 6.95 because the account is suppose to be free, but they then charge him an overdraft fee of $5.00. I called about it and they will do nothing, they will not reverse the charges or the overdraft fees that they caused. I hope you sleep well tonight CIBC ripping off kids!!! That is absolutely disgusting!!!!!!

CIBC celebrated their 150th year in business on May 15th. It's unfortunate that they've lost their…read morecustomer service somewhere along the way. I simply wanted to have them make change for a $20 banknote, nothing more. I stood in line for about 10 minutes and for a moment considered slipping across the parking lot to Tim Horton's and have the $20 bill changed there. Upon being invited over by the service associate I approached the counter and quite simply and politely requested to have the bill changed into smaller denominations. The CIBC associate asked if I was a member of their bank, I replied "no". She then delivered a very long deep sigh and began to examine the $20 banknote. It was maddening and I was insulted. I respectfully interrupted her review of the banknote and politely stated that I would instead walk across to the Tim Horton's and have it changed there. She did and said nothing to detour me, handed it back to me and I left. Little did she know that just minutes earlier I had withdrawn one hundred dollars cash from THEIR bank machine, 5 $20 bills, and she was examining one of them. I was insulted. What has this world come to when a well dressed man, articulate of speech, politely requests change for a $20 bill and the request is scrutinized with such obvious questionability that one feels their personal integrity is being questioned along with it. I did walk over to the Tim Horton's and along with requesting change for my $20 bill shared my disgust with the way I was treated at the CIBC branch across the parking lot. Their reply, "I'm not surprised". They promptly changed my $20 bill and along with it handed me a Tim Horton's timbit. Unbelievable customer "disservice" CIBC, you should be ashamed.

I use to have the 1st to the end of the month not is the 18th to 17th and the only way to fix it is to close this account and reopen one on the 1st of the month. I will close the account and move institutions. I am sure this will happen to my savings account real soon too.

When I hadn't received it I inquired, and was told it would be the end of the month. When that didn't happen I inquired again and was told I hadn't met the requirements. I needed to have a preauthorized bill payment of $50, which is not what was explained to me. After getting several emails that were no help and were clearly templates like "we are receiving a higher than normal volume of emails...I hope this has been helpful" I eventually got someone to actually read my message, and the response was "we're not equipped to handle this matter. We encourage you to reach out to your local branch". completely incompetent. I'm cancelling all accounts by the end of the month if they don't honour the original agreement, which I told them, and haven't gotten a response. That was three days ago. I've dealt with ATB before and they are head and shoulders above Scotiabank. I would strongly suggest you do your banking elsewhere. I'm going back to ATB if they don't sort this out, and I have very little confidence that they will. They focus on getting customers, not retaining them. Terrible customer service and communication. They just don't care, they want to pass the buck to someone else. Don't do business with them, they don't care about you. I've I could give them 0 stars I would, they don't deserve 1.
