I'm a Millenial, or according to Pepsi and the Spice Girl's 1997 campaign, a Generation Next'er. These days, that means I do as much as I can technologically with as little human contact as possible. Why call when you can text, right? The same philosophy applies to my banking: why go into a brick and mortar to sort out my financials when I have an app for that?
That said, sometimes there are things your fancy tablet app just can't do, so you have to make the effort to go in to the bank and come face to face with a teller. While this isn't my home-base Scotiabank, it is the one closest to my home, so is often the most convenient location. It has a few ATMs inside its lobby for after-hours or quick transactions, and a small but accomodating bank beyond that. It's definitely more a "hole in the wall" bank, as opposed to all those new shiny10-teller counter 2-story banks popping up around town. But it's clean, bright, and the tellers I've dealt with are always nice. I had a couple issues with my card last time, and the teller was able to help me out and helped me change my checking account type to something better suited to my needs. I appreciated her spelling everything out for me.
Overall, it's a serviceable location. read more
