This Shimmers is open year 'round! I feel like that this is the only dream in my 23 years of life…read morethat has actually come true. While I feel the 'magic' of summer is somewhat tarnished now that I can get a snocone any time of the year... wait, no. Actually, there is no magic in summer. I hate it. Snocones are the only thing that makes summer tolerable. So now summer can -completely- EAT IT. This location is only two miles away from my home and while the one on NW Expressway is closer, this particular building is in a perfect spot since I travel that way often (did I mention the year 'round part?). For the time being, they only have a drive-thru, but they are working on opening the inside (this is the building where Cherry's used to be. In fact, at the time of this review the Cherry's sign is still there). When my boyfriend and I went today, the owner of Shimmers, Amy McSwane, was there. She is SO nice! It was obvious that she greatly enjoys what she does and it's a treat to interact with her. Great service+Great product, yo. I could go on about what all they have, but the website listed has everything on there. They also have a Facebook page and a Twitter (I follow them on Facebook, because I made a conscious decision not to Twitterz) that posts updates about their hours (due to weather or otherwise) and even little deals from time to time. Such as, today was $0.50 off snocones (individually) if you follow them. I've only been to 2 of the 4 locations, but I'm willing to bet the other two are just as great.

My sister and I stopped in to order something to go, and I chose the Thai chicken salad. I was going to get the wrap at first, but then noticed they had it as a salad too. I was definitely using the calorie count to guide my decision! The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the dressing has a great tang. The prices are reasonable also. The staff was very friendly and helpful - pretty sure she could tell it was my first time here. I'm a little surprised that the smoothies only come in the huge sizes. I love smoothies, but don't need one quite that large unless you are having it as a meal replacement, which is what I'd recommend. If you want it as a just a drink to go along with a meal, that will be a lot of extra calories and sugar that you probably aren't intending to have.

Bad Service. I am an active duty service member and a frequent Smoothie King customer (usually at…read morethe SW 15th St/Tinker location), but my experience at this Westgate Plaza location (Store # 5921) has been unacceptable. On Friday, Jan 23, 2026, I placed an online order at 4:00 PM after verifying online that the store was open. When my husband arrived to pick it up, the store was closed, yet I had already been charged. So I called the store, and no one answered. I called the store again, yesterday, and no one answered. So I went to the store yesterday, 26 January at 6pm and the lights were out. When I called today to resolve this, the employee was unhelpful and directed me to corporate for a refund. When I called back to explain, he hung up on me because he stated that he was 'the only one working and could not help me.' I then went to the store in person, where there were two employees working, (not one, as the employee claimed over the phone) and the same employee who hung up the phone, claimed the manager said there was 'nothing they could do' and refused to provide his name, the manager's name or the manager's contact info, which was unheard of because usually managers want their customers to reach them if there are issues or concerns. So my only option was to take a photo of the unhelpful employee and the store for proof and documentation. While other locations (like the one on West Memorial) were willing to help based on my proof of purchase (which I have), but this location (Store # 5921) refused. Unfortunately, I am now out my money with zero resolution and terrible service. I am extremely disappointed and will not return to the Westgate Marketplace location (Store # 5921) until a new team takes over that is willing to help customers. This is only the second time in my life I have submitted this type of review, and I hope I never have to do so again. However, thank you to Google for providing a platform for customers to have a voice when they feel helpless.
