Really delicious. My waffle cone was warm and fresh. My nieces ice cream scoop fell minutes after buying and was replaced. Everyone behind the counter was kind. Good vibes. Only con is the couch. Super pretty color. Totally understand that ice cream messes happen, especially with children. But the couch looks a bit gross so sit on. Overall the pace still deserves 5 stars and will come back.

The staff at Scoops were very friendly! They offer samples and I got to try a couple before choosing. I got the caramel flavor and it was not too sweet so it was perfect! Also there wasn't a line when I went.

Not quite 4 stars for me. Pretty solid ice cream. I enjoyed their Pralines and Cream.

Cute ice cream parlor with ice cream stools at the front entrance and chocolate dipped waffle cone lights hanging from the ceiling in their cozy corner. Service was amazing since there was only one server and she was doing everything: making the waffle cones, making the cotton candy and she was super nice too. They have a variety of flavors: we opted for the ube, birthday cake, and Kahlua coffee. The ube was nice and light and not overly sweet. And the Kahlua coffee had kopiko bits in it. IYKYK. We got toasted marshmallow on everything because we're obsessed. Everything was yummy and not too sweet which was nice. But I also saw that you could go even further with your sweet tooth and have a cotton candy ring around your ice cream cone too! Not for the faint of heart. But you do you boo!

8.3/10 We ordered the Ice Cream Concha and paired it with Ube Ice Cream and Walnuts. It was a good dessert and a pairing I had never tried before. The ube ice cream was the highlight, smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. It really hit the spot and had a nice creamy texture. The walnuts added a good crunch and some extra texture to the dessert, though the pairing felt a little awkward at times. The concha itself was good and better than many I've had before. It wasn't overly dry, and they warmed it up which helped a lot. That said, conchas tend to be naturally a bit dry and crumbly, so that texture is somewhat unavoidable. Since you can customize the pairing yourself, it's possible we just didn't choose the most complementary combination. Service was amazing, the staff was very friendly and even let us sample flavors, which was a nice touch. The ambiance was good overall with a nice look to the place and cool decor. It did feel like it was starting to look a little worn or slightly dirty in spots, though they also just recently opened so it may just need some upkeep.

The building is remarkable! So beautiful, so clean, and has the perfect esthetic! The moment we walked in, we were greeted with energetic smiles and a welcome! The customer service was top tier! I cannot have sugar, and they explained their sugar free options, and when I tell you it is so good!!!!!!!!!!! I am not even kidding! My husband said his Oreo cookies waffle cone was delicious as well! I got a cup and was able to add toppings!! We will be back, and hopefully they'll have their sugar free butter pecan by then!!

Service is way too slow. They have 30 people in line and only two people working the counter on a Saturday evening during the summer. The manager needs to staff this place better.

Finally this place has opened! The place looks bright and pretty, and spacious! They serve Marianne's ice cream. We enjoyed a scoop each of butter pecan and sales caramel. The person behind the counter was pleasant and hardworking. We'll be back for sure.

Scoops is SO fun. We came for the famous cotton candy burrito and it was every bit as wild as it sounds -- three scoops of Marianne's ice cream, two toppings, plus another topping of your choice, all wrapped up in fluffy cotton candy. Total sugar overload, but in the best way possible. Shoutout to the guy working when we went because he was putting in WORK carefully wrapping the burrito so it wouldn't fall apart and making sure it looked good. You can tell he really puts effort into it. Messy, over-the-top, and such a fun dessert experience -- would 100% go back!

Better than the tourist traps on Alvarado Street! Friendly folks, warm and welcoming decor, and delicious ice cream choices - especially the combo choices! I mean, what human with a sweet tooth can resist a huge cotton-candy burrito with ice cream inside? Slightly out of the way, but totally worth the hunt!!!

Super cute in here, convenient parking and location, tons of space, tons of flavors/options! Friendly and patient staff! They allowed us to samples tons of flavors so much to choose from! Got the scoops toasted marshmallow cone with rasberry ice cream it was sooo good, big size and great prices! What a treat! My daughter and i will Def be back! Def aesthetically pleasing and affordable for large families!

Second time customer Second 5 star review. Why, Because Scoops is the BEST. Tried 2 new flavors, Banana Nut which is my new favorite and a Marble Black Raspberry which was great, Very Berryful.... Staff once again were knowledgeable and friendly. I hate to say it but this places just jumped Revival Ice Cream shop as Scoops ice cream in my opinion has more flavor and way larger portions. You always leave with a full belly and a smile on your face.... No REGERTS....

A welcoming place full of tasty treats!!

So happy to have a bright and friendly ice cream shop in downtown Monterey that carries the incomparable Marianne's ice creams! We will make this our ice cream spot for sure.

We waited about 20 minutes to get inside, but once we reached the counter, the ordering process was quick and efficient. The shop itself is pretty small, but there's outdoor seating if you want to enjoy your ice cream nearby. They had so many unique flavors that it was hard to choose! I ended up getting the Kids Cookie Dough, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly sweet and absolutely packed with cookie dough pieces, every bite had some. My husband ordered the Apple Pie flavor, and it was just as delicious. The balance of cinnamon and apple was spot on without either flavor overpowering the other. It's a unique flavor that just works, but I do think the honeycomb got overly sweet as I kept eating. My boyfriend also got the Milk & Cookies. The cookie bits were soft and chocolate-y and there were also soft melty bits of "milk" that were so tasty! I originally got a mini scoop of their daily flavor: apricot black tea. However, this tasted like under-ripe apricot with practically zero tea flavor. I get that it's like a natural organic ice cream but it was kind of sour. They're nice enough to swap your flavor if you don't like what you got, but they don't do samples. I was able to replace my apricot black tea to bee's knees! The line was so long on a Saturday around 9PM. Think we waited around 25 minutes. There is minimal seating inside and outside the shop, but you can always take your ice cream to-go and walk around downtown! Overall: 4.1/5

Now even though I took my goods to-go I had to go out to their patio to find a restroom. That outdoor area is totally cool, totally out in the open but you're like in a square inside a fort, surrounded by walls, so you can't see any street action. But you're totally open to roam in here from the street. Next time I'm in this area, I'm definitely gonna make time to chill on that patio. Cold Brew ($6.50/5*) Perfect to my taste, smooth and mellow on the roast. Pricey for a small cup but this is a touristy area. Banana Bread Slice ($5.25/4*) Very thick slice. Super soft yet moist in the center but firmer and more well done on the edges. Pretty dark in color, maybe some cocoa powder went in but there were also tiny hits of dark chocolate throughout. The "handmade" ice cream sign caught my eye, so we decided to give it a try. I got the butter pecan. If you like super creamy, rich, milky-style butter pecan, this may not be for you. Their ice cream has more of an icy texture with a lighter flavor. I actually enjoyed it since I'm not a fan of overly creamy or overly sweet ice cream. It felt lighter and more refreshing. The rainbow sherbet had the same icy texture. One thing is that the ice cream melts very quickly, almost watery, even in 65-degree weather, so have napkins ready. One complaint was the scoop sizes. Our scoops were noticeably smaller compared to other customers being served around the same time, so the portions felt inconsistent for the price. Overall, if you prefer lighter, less sweet ice cream, you may enjoy this spot- just hope you get a generous scoop!
