I am not the least put off by gas stations/convenient stores that serve food, but this was a one-up due to the variety of craft beers available! The food menu all sounded delicious, but I settled on the Turkey and Swiss sandwich. And it was glorious! Freshly toasted/grilled ciabatta piled high with quality turkey, a thick slice of Swiss, tomato, lettuce, and just a bit of mayo for moisture. I know what you're thinking: dude, it's just a turkey sandwich. But everything about this place from the aforementioned craft beer variety to the huge delicious sandwiches to the friendly service to the fact that it's in a gas station, made for the perfect storm in my belly!

The owner was very friendly and had great stories to tell. Being an old shop, it had the stools at the counter and a few booths. We sat at the counter as all the staff knew my colleague since he was a kid. You don't find jewels like this everywhere. I ordered a double cheese burger, toppings, and tots-crispy. It came out perfect. I spent two minutes devouring the burger, then casually consumed the tots listening to the stories. This place is what America used to be like, yet still has that fire. I hope to pass through here again. Next time maybe the chili dogs. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This was the perfect stop between Charlottesville and the Triangle area so we gave it a try. First of all, the whole place is so friendly - something we don't see much any more. I ordered the portobello mushroom wrap and it was delicious, prepared with fresh spinach (not frozen) and lots of garlic. The fries were just "meh" - nothing special and kind of dry. My friend wasn't thrilled with her spinach salad which was basically spinach with some craisins and cheese sprinkled in. This really isn't a four star restaurant, but I'm giving it four stars in gratitude for the vegetarian menu and for the friendly service.
