My experience was reasonable. The service lacked a professional feeling although it was not nearly as bad as some other customers on this platform. I may revise this review if I ever have to file a claim (although from looking at their client portal, it seems I file claims through my insurance company and not them). Pros: - Agent got me the rate that I was quoted for through an online calculator (rates.ca). - Agent had all of the auto insurance documents filled out and signed within an hour so it was a relatively quick experience. - Agent explained in detail all of the optional coverages and how they would affect my rate. Cons: - Unprofessional language through email (very poor grammar, slang, etc.). - Brokerage phones were down in the afternoon after we had signed the documents, which meant I was unable to call them to provide payment until the next week. This left me with an uneasy feeling that something was not right; usually a company will make it their top priority to collect payment. - Unable to pay though the SCOOP online client portal. I feel like this is something that should be standard in 2023, rather than providing your information over the phone. read more

Do not use! I live and work in an area with little no to service I had an issue my cc payment, there was an hold, as an result I missed 1 payment in under a month of the last one. I never received an email so I called them and was informed I couldn't make my usual monthly payment of around 200 and had to pay 1k+ to get my coverage continued. That's extortion and also not very good customer relations; not to mention terrible business strategy that loses out on LTV ( life time customer value) and lost referrals and continued revenue. I've been trying to contact them via email and phone since November, and it's already January, I have yet to hear from them. I've tried their custom service, no response, I've contacted Palak Patel - no response. These people have no clue what they are doing, as soon as I figured whether I am still insured or not, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I've been with them for 3 years and just canceled, it has been the worst experience with them. They charged me $167 for a 2001 vehicle I payed 2k for, I have a five year incident free record I've never even been pulled over, I'm married, my new company is $107/month. It started when I called to update my marriage status and put my car on park insurance because it's off the road. The guy said that they didn't have park insurance, and the marriage discount was $6. My husband's company, who I'm now with sent us a wedding card and gave him $20 discount, and he said I should join them when my insurance renews. So now a few months later on my renewal date I called to cancel and found out that they do in fact have park insurance, that guy just lied to me, and the whole process of talking to them to cancel was so frustrating. The first time they hung up on me, and then every time I called I had to get through their robot who couldn't understand my last name for like four minutes. But I did it, after signing cancellation forms I finally canceled my insurance, but they said I may still be charged so just call. Cooperators, my new insurance let me sign up with just the year name and make of my car and a blank check and got me right onto park insurance for $13/month until I want to put it on the road. Scoop needs a valid safety from the last 30 days to put your car on storage and photos and you pay full amount and they refund you when you put it back on the road, like who gets their car safetied other than when you first get it? Anyways after cancelling I got charged called them and they said 3-6 weeks for a refund!!! I have less than $100 in my bank, I just paid for a wedding and can't find a job, I need that money. Terrible corporate corruption.Cooperators you just give them a call they pick up right away, they're local, and so easy, call to cancel, call to sign up, so easy, not all this safety and forms for everything. Every year when I try to go view the renewal documents, I get an error message and have to call to have them sent by email. No one ever replies to emails in time at this company. I encounter issues with them every single year. If the employees are not able to answer customers' emails, why aren't they redirected to another agent? I am so frustrated. It is the same dance every time I try to get in contact with someone. I also received my renewal for tenant insurance.... I had asked to remove my ex-partner off the policy LAST YEAR. Why is his name on the renewal? Also, when I first moved to my current house and set up the home insurance, they had put my OLD address and I was paying for insurance somewhere I was not living at FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR.... they did not offer any type of compensation what so ever. I concur with all the other negative reviews. This brokerage is complete non-sense. First contact was on Jan 3, 2025. It's end of April and still no policy set up. I've gone through 3-4 agents trying to set up CAA car insurance policy, but still without on April 28. Response to emails is atrocious. I'm going to cancel this even before getting the paperwork, because I can already image the headache trying to get a claim honored. Agents just drop communication and never follow up. Multiple agents doing the same, so this is a systemic issue at the company. Would avoid this company at all cost. I think the lower price quotes are a scam. They aren't honored. If I could, I would give them a -5. All those who praise this company in their reviews likely have never encountered a difficult situation with them. The company is comprised of irresponsible and unprofessional employees whose primary objective is to collect your money. In the event of any dispute or confusion, they will absolve themselves of responsibility and redirect you to the insurance provider. And guess what the insurance provider will tell you? That you are insured through a broker, and therefore all inquiries must be directed to the broker. They also refuse to participate in a three-way conference call to resolve issues collaboratively. Reaching anyone in a position of authority is practically impossible -- everyone you can reach claims to be the highest authority available. And don't be misled by their responses here expressing regret and asking you to contact them to resolve the issue. Of course they write that -- they're not complete fools. But over the phone, when it's not a public forum, if you contact them with a problem, you'll hear the same answer every time: "We can't help you. Please contact your insurance company." Therefore, think carefully before entering into any agreements through this broker. read more

I was with Scoop Insurance, and when my renewal came, I decided to switch insurance companies. I signed all the cancellation documents the broker sent me well in advance, yet I still received renewal documents from the insurance company I was cancelling. I emailed and called the broker to inquire about this, but they never replied. I ended up being charged by my old insurance company on my renewal date. Two insurance companies covered me because the broker (Aveneet Kaur) did not cancel my old insurance policy. The only compensation they offered for their gross negligence was a $50 Amazon card. It will take 3 to 4 weeks to receive the refund from my old insurance company. DO NOT USE SCOOP. They do not take accountability for their mistakes or care about the hardship they cause their customers. read more

Using Scoop insurance brokers, I signed up for the CAA MyPace policy. The device was delayed by a month, but there was no fee for the delay. However, the device drained by battery three times. I got a new battery, then it drained. Then fixed a hood sensor that could be draining the battery but isn't likely the cause or only cause (according to the mechanic). I called CAA, and they had me remove the device for two weeks and then I had the battery checked. At that point, I called them to share this information and requested transferring policies. They said there would be NO additional fees for transferring, but then when they found out I had went through a broker, I was directed to Scoop. Scoop charged me for my current policy instead of transferring me over and putting those funds toward my new policy. I thought it was unfair and not good customer service when there is a trail of evidence that indicated the device wasn't working and draining my car battery. read more

I agreed to a policy of 320.00 a month. they decided to take 1150.00 a mont without any comunication. they could not give me any reason for the almost 400% mistake by their knowledgable staff but said if i wanted to cancel it i would have to pay a fee of an extra 750.00. My experience with Scoop Insurance has been nothing short of frustrating. They made an error that directly impacted me, yet they refused to take any accountability for it. They provided an automobile quote to me and I accepted it upon review. A few day later, there where demands to sign-up to a telematics software app, of which there was no discussion. I reached out to Scoop as to why this the case. After a few calls and different agents, they ultimately agreed the error was on their end as there no discussion of telematics software nor anything in the policy to mandate it. They suggested either to keep the policy and accept the increased premium or to cancel the policy and switch but pay an associated cancellation charge. I find it reprehensible they expect me to absorb the cost of their mistake--something that is completely unacceptable for any professional insurance company. What's worse is their dismissive or indifferent attitude throughout the process. Rather than working to resolve the issue or offering any sort of meaningful assistance, they essentially washed their hands of the problem, leaving me to deal with the consequences of their incompetence. If you're considering Scoop Insurance, be aware that they might not have your back when it matters most. I cannot recommend them after this experience. read more

We switched to Scoop after Sonnet insurance stopped offering insurance in Alberta about 4 months ago. The quote we were given was pretty decent for 2 drivers and 2 vehicles so we signed the agreement. When we finally got our paperwork and pink cards, the insurance was almost $1000 more than what we signed for, and they said it was a mistake on the end of Pembridge. After calling twice a week for past 3 months, and being promised a call back no later than end of buisness day, we have never recieved a call back ever, they don't reply to emails, the online chat offers no help in correcting the issue. So the end of the day, most unprofesional company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I even told them if I do not recieve a call back in the next 3 days that I would be cancelling insurance and going elewhere. Still no email, or call back. Absolute garbage company. read more

I had an absolutely horrible experience with one of their brokers from this specific company in recent weeks and I have the emails to prove it. Long story short, I cancelled my existing insurance pursuant to communications with the broker, who completely dropped the ball and screwed me out of the agreed upon changes. I rarely write review, especially bad ones, but after seeing all the previous review i think people should really be carefull with chossing this broker. I went with Scoop 2 years ago as they provided a much better deal for our 2 cars policy (about $150 less per month). 2 weeks after the policy was supposedly in effect i got a letter from the insurer saying i was not covered. When i called Scoop (in panic), it took a while before reaching the broker and she said that they made a mistake with their estimate and the premium was significantly higher ($150 more/month). I was so stressed for driving a leased car without insurance for the last 2 weeks then i juts accepted whatever the new premium price was since it was about the same price than our previous policy. Then found out when I got the first 2 payments taken from my bank account that it was about $100 more than what was finally agreed ($200 more than what i used to pay with my previous insurer)! I called the insurer which told me to contact Scoop. I was sooooo furious. Found out the Scoop broker did not set up my account properly so I couldn't benefit from the discount. Ended up reducing the premium to what was agreed, but no refund off course for the first $200 extra. When I got a crack in my windshield couple months later, I found out that I was not covered as I was with my previous insurer for the same premium. So going with Scoop was a horrible mistake that cost me $1000 extra. Then they promised it will get significantly lower the next year. I am at the end of my second year and still paying the same insane premium. So leaving this broker as soon as i can! read more

TERRIBL! I have worked in insurance for 25 years, and this is the worst company that I've dealt with. I signed up for CAA auto insurance and for some reason it went through Scoop Insurance Brokers. They have made so many mistakes, their negligence resulted in my plan being cancelled. I was able to get it restored, but it cost me money, and inconvenience that I shouldn't have encountered. Worst of all, they took no responsibility for their errors. My policy renewed a number of months ago, but they still have not resolved problems and do not answer my emails. Either scoop is owned by them so naturally they gave me the cheapest quote for their own insurance. Red flag 1 Next, check the reviews my friends. The overwhelming majority of which are bad. Rated 1 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware! I wish there were a ZERO-star rating! This is truly a case where I would list zero stars if it were an option. Over two weeks ago I received a written quote for auto insurance through Pembridge, via Scoop's brokers. The initial representative with whom I was speaking seems to have literally disappeared. Once I tired of waiting - with no returned emails, or responses to the numerous voicemail messages that I left - I reached out to Scoop directly. I was eventually transferred to a broker who began my "new" quote at almost $300.00 more than the initial quote that I received in writing. After discussing my driving history and providing my CEL, Driver's License and banking details, an agreement was reached to receive insurance for one year. The next day, I received a follow up email stating that my premium had increased by over $300.00 a year, due to a newfound violation on my abstract. This one and only violation was one that had been discussed with the broker the day before and he said - if we find anything ELSE, your rate may change. Knowing that I had disclosed the only thing in my history, I signed the forms. I have now been told that I am bound to a term and payment amount that is about $583.00 more than the initial quote that struck my interest in the first place! This place is unscrupulous and I let myself get sucked in... I hope that anyone in the market for insurance sees this review and heeds my warning. I have personal auto insurance with them and contacted them to inquire as to how much it would be if I want to change my auto policy to commercial use so that I can transport my tools and that I need to change the credit card number on file as the one they have will be cancelled. The lady I spoke to said that she put in the request and will hear back in 2 weeks (wow really???) anyhoo, 4 weeks go by with no call back (honestly I actually forgot about it, it was xmas time) then get an email that my insurance is being cancelled because Im using my vehicle for commercial use, which they dont cover and that they want the full premium paid in full (luckily only 2 months worth), because my credit card on file didnt work...wow. At that time I was not using my vehicle for commercial use and I was still waiting for them to take my new cc number. When I called the lady said that they put the request in at the beginning of December, but they only reviewed my request 8th of January...if it takes them this long to respond to a request and mess up this badly...what will happen when you have a claim....RUN AWAY...I did manage to get commercial insurance through brokerlink, for about the same rate as what I paid at Scoop. read more

I called to have one of 2 cars removed from my policy . They quoted me the same amount for 1 car as 2. When I questioned Sasha about it, saying it didnt make sense, she accused me of being rude. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she doesn't have one. She ended the call by placing me back in the waiting cue saying I can speak to a different rep. 0-o I was left on hold for 30 more minutes then they hung up. I waited 20 minuets to reach a representative and she was absolutely useless and rude. Since she was not able to work her system properly I was supposed to receive a phone call from her on Monday to update my payment information. Very poor inattentive customer service. You cannot even get consultation if you need to change policy. Their website does not allow you to register, there is no email address to communicate or direct your questions with anyone. You just have to call and if you do you wait for 20 minutes before anyone answers, and then they don't help really help you much anyway. Truly bad service. read more

Dealing with Scoop has been a horrible experience. I was working with Carlos, who initially found me a great rate for home and auto insurance. However, after switching insurance providers, Carlos and his underwriting team misclassified a minor accident that happened 6 years ago. Because of this, the insurance company decided to charge me almost $500 dollars a month for coverage.....more than double was I was paying previously. I will concede that Carlos did work to find an alternative insurance provider but it was no where near the original rate they quoted me. At this point I actually lost money switching insurance providers. Overall it cost me around $180 dollars to use Scoop. I asked to be reimbursed the amount I lost and Carlos ghosted me. Basically I mistaken missed one payment for my insurance, and I called and asked if I could pay for two months the following month, Kasey Tanner lied to me telling me that my car insurance company has cancelled on me and that she doesn't have permission to call them to discuss what had happened. She tried to get me to get with a new insurance company and that I now have a cancellation on my account and that I will have to pay for my new policy in full, which is the worst possible scenario. (She tried to make a sale which is more important to her) I called back and spoke with Mindy Kim and she had no problem calling my insurance company and fixing the problem. Not only did they make an error in processing our address change with our insurance company, but not one person from this company followed up with us when things didn't seem right. When we reached out as we had not received our renewal documents for both home and auto insurance, a broker told us that the policy would automatically renew, and not to worry. This was definitely not the case, as Scoop continued to mail documents to the wrong address. This resulted in our insurance being cancelled for 'non payment'. This put us in a 'high risk' category for vehicle coverage (which more than doubled our premiums) and our home was deemed uninsurable by several insurance companies. Scoop has been extremely difficult to deal with, they have taken no responsibility for their error in not communicating our address change to our insurance company (which we have documentation of having completed with them) but they have continuously played the 'we're working on it' card without actually making any effort to correct the consequences of their error. We have worked specially with John Kolbuc and Sal Milisenda. John was difficult to work with in May of 2020 when we instituted our policies with KTX (now Scoop) and left several boxes unchecked. He often did not have answers to our questions and would not follow up in a timely fashion. He was also the individual who gave us the false information that our policy would auto renew and not too worry (while obviously not having taken a second to have a look at our account). Sal was appointed to us when one woman with Scoop admitted fault while we were on the phone with the company. He was supposed to have helped us in solving our issues with the insurance company (I.e. asking them to withdraw the flag placed on us for 'cancellation of non-payment') but after several follow up phone calls, he admitted that he never called our insurance company to even have the above conversation. He often sets deadlines for himself to return our calls with updates, and then exceeds these by WEEKS. Sal made several false comments (which we learned is the standard for employees working with Scoop) and ultimately passed the blame rather than help fix the consequences of their error. This issue being resolved in a timely manner (or at least follow up) would have shown us that the company showed remorse for the error that in the end is going to cost us significantly more for the exact same driving records and home insurance. We will be filing a claim with BBB, RIBO and following up with a lawyer. This is a case of Broker Negligence that they refuse to take full responsibility for. My suggestion: stay as far away as possible from Scoop insurance. read more
