They moved us from Killeen to GA. At first, I thought it was going ok - we checked in on them, kinda kept an eye as much as we could. I left for an appt, husband stayed behind. They packed our dishes in a tremendous amount of paper, but in a lrg kitchenware box stacked on one another. Upon unpacking through boxes, my wedding serving platters were broken. And things just got worse as we went. They labeled our boxes "clothing" and put them in wardrobe boxes. Surprise to us, it wasn't clothing! They dumped items from inside the house and garage together and even labeled them clothing. The majority of the items that were large, were damaged. They moved up our load date and when I said it wouldn't work, we needed the washer to be bolted, they said they would handle it themselves. Well, the washer did not get bolted, they didn't even put anything in it to keep the drum from moving like we were told. Our new washer is broken. Our baby bassinet is broken. Our dresses drawers are dented and damaged. Boxes misplaced caused an unpacking nightmare. In 17 years this was our worst PCS yet. read more

We recently moved from Texas to Florida for my husband's job. We needed packing, loading, storage and delivery. The move went from bad to worse from the very beginning. Hoover, the sales rep, under estimated the amount of boxes, time and space in the truck we needed. This is our 13th move so know how it is supposed to go. Always have been two days to pack and one to load. This is what we planned on until we were called the week before to tell us they would be packing for one day and loading for one day. we were on a time crunch and told them but they assured us they'd be done by 5, guaranteed, on the second day. day of packing the ladies, who were very nice, started working right away but ran out of boxes and paper by 3:00. they left for the day. the next day the loaders showed up, who were awesome as well, and the packers but they couldn't load much since they were so far behind in packing. finished packing early afternoon. The closing happened at 3 and they were not done at 5, as guaranteed, but instead , 8:30. They did not have enough crates for our house to go into storage so had to return to their main place twice to get more. Fast forward to delivery. Our home was to be released July 14th for delivery between the 18th and 21st. I touched base with Sarah, our Move Masters contact, and she assured me there would be no updates until AFTER it was released on the 14th. On the 13th I received a call from our driver, who was amazing as well, that he had picked up our house on the 12th and was in our new town already and set for delivery on the 14th. We didn't even close until the 17th. Let him know what we were told about delivery and he spoke with his dispatch and they had none of that information. He reschedule the delivery and moved around his other jobs to accommodate a delivery on July 18th. We were consequently billed for the move, which we had told them three times it was to be direct billed to my husband's company, and told we had to pay before we could take delivery. One day before delivery we were told only part of our house fit on the truck. Essentials were put on the truck, or so they said. Missing lots and lots of "essentials". We're then told the load had been assigned, then not assigned, not sure, to be released on the 21st and a driver was ready to bring it. All this conveniently happened two days after we paid in full. Called back on the 22nd telling us they were working on getting a driver and hoping to deliver on the 30th. Fast forward to the 30th. Delivery window, 1-3, got a call at 12:45 that they were still 4 hours away. At 5, called back to tell me they were still an hour and a half away. Finally, at 7pm, they got here. Called twice to the contact number I was given to ask what the eta was and once again, Sarah, was at lunch but I was told she would get right back to me. Nothing. Got a text that no one monitored saying as a good faith gesture, the driver and helpers would help me unpack. No! I tried to contact the number and there was no answer. Texted back, nothing. They wanted me to accept unpacking at 9 pm after they were done and poor delivery guys who had nothing to do with this mess. The were very nice and willing to do whatever to help me but I was not going to have them unpack and just leave my possess all over the house. We were promised that Scobey was going to make a good faith gesture after delivery but nothing, unless it was the unpacking. Not appropriate at 9pm. Have heard nothing from Central Storage, Scobey or Move Masters since they delivered on Wednesday. Emails and calls have gone unanswered and it felt like they were actively avoiding us. We just wanted answers and our stuff. It's not hard. This was a logistical nightmare and all of our contacts did nothing to help. The packers, loaders and drivers were fantastic! That was the only part that was pleasant. DO NOT USE SCOBEY MOVING AND STORAGE, CENTRAL STORAGE OR MOVE MASTERS. This was their San Antonio group but if they were this bad, I can't imagine the rest are much better. We did everything to make it easy for them and they made it the most difficult move we've ever had in 33 years. Never again! Steer clear! read more

If I could leave - negative stars I would! Our experince with United Van Lines has been horrible to say the least. It starts with an awful rude driver as well as liar!! We had damaged furniture and 21 missing boxes. Every box listed on their manifest was listed as dining room. Every box we had was marked per room and what was in it!!! All they wanted to compensate for damage done to 125yr old anitque rocker and console and missing boxes was $700.00 which would barely cover damage done to rocker. They offered 2 options and neither was acceptable they refused to negotiate. They sent us $700.00 without talking any further and never responded to our e mails. They were beyond rude to say the least. We have realized we are missing foot ball jerseys which are worth a lot of money, china and books and I am sure more will be revealed in time. The company charged us over $500.00 to bring help they told us was over 4 hours away. It turned out they were only 25 miles away. NO compensation was every made for this either. They also requested full payment before items were delivered which offered no recourse. We would never recommend this moving company to anyone who cares about their furniture or personal items or sanity in dealing with this moving company. We had the movers come yesterday. The crew members were all very friendly and kind. They called in extra help to make sure everything was finished being packed by the end of the day so they wouldn't have to come back which we appreciated. But we did have a few complaints. First a glass was broken(which is understandable that accidents happen) BUT they didn't even mention it to us and barely attempted to clean it. After they left I stepped on several shards of glass in my kitchen before noticing the pieces were scattered everywhere! I then went to sweep the mess up and found the dustpan in the pantry with the base of the broken glass and large chunks just sitting in the dustpan... I have a dog and toddler and am so glad that neither of them stepped on the glass before I noticed! We would've been absolutely furious if our toddler would've sliced open his foot because of this! They missed several items around the house that needed to be packed that we've had to gather up ourselves for when the truck arrives tomorrow to take all the boxes. They also left a good amount of trash around the house from their personal food like fast food cups and empty rolls of tape. We're really hoping that all of our belongings in the boxes were packed carefully but won't know until our stuff arrives at our next house. read more

After the lease was up we moved and again used Scobey moving. Jessica there was a big help in putting together the estimate and working w us to get a move scheduled. It was an easier and more accurate estimate as they could base it on our last move w them. We visited the office and had a chance to meet her when signing the paperwork and she was very pleasant. On moving day they was a minor problem that they fixed very quickly and three very professional men showed up and moved us. They were very polite and things rapidly were moved out of our former home and into our new one. Moving can be very stressful on anyone but Scobey moving helped take a bit of the stress out of the equation. The labor hours were spot on and the estimate was basically accurate. Again we were very impressed just like the first time and would certainly do business w them in the future. What really made a difference was that every person we contacted seemed to genuinely care from the people in the office on down to the three guys who moved us. She and Amber worked fairly hard and the short of the matter Cathy gave me an estimate on Monday and I moved on Thursday. I don't promise they could always do that but am grateful that they could and did here. The moving guys were very polite and took their time to make sure nothing was damaged. I am appreciative and this move helps me get settled before surgery. Now I will be able to know everything is settled when I am ready to leave the hospital. The office even caught them in enough time so the movers could drive back fast and return my key to my old place. I am trying to find something to critique so I don't sound like a fanboy or something but it is very hard to find something wrong. I am just grateful for them helping me in a timely manner. They guys showed on time with their mask on enforcing CDC guidelines. They approach us and thoroughly explained the entire process of ensuring they move my household good in the house in a timely manner but also safely despite down pouring of the rain. It was so cold on this day as well but they managed to still stay positive and motivated. They were very cautious with my household good. Each one of them were very respectful and helpful. sadly they were doing all on this on the new year eve day. they assembled everything i needed them to assemble. They were very patient with me and my family in the entire process. Really good experience today! They came prepared and ready to pack. Terry and Keynes were really thorough and packed my items with lots of care. The boxes were actually labeled very well with a great description of what was inside. They didn't mix my items up just to fill a box. They stayed in each room and took there time to pack right. They seems very experienced and well versed on policies and what to do. Super friendly. Arrived promptly ams left only when the job was done. Didn't take a bunch of breaks. I was really impressed. I felt they worked a bit more efficiently than the two males who came to assist them. That's why I gave 4. But all in all is use them again. read more

Due to the summer moves, the normal size crew was not available to complete my pack out in one day so it was scheduled over two days. The crew of 2 on the first day was very professional, knowledgeable on all things related to proper packing and storage and in addition was very friendly and respectful of me and my things (Mr. Brunner and Chavis). They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and was completed the packing of a 3 bedroom house in a reasonable amount of time prior to 5pm. The next day they arrived with a third person (Sylvester) to assist with breaking down heavy furniture and loading the truck. Once again, same great interaction as the day before. For military moves, company's are contracted and continues their contract based on customer reviews. This team really represented the company well and in general conversation with them it sounds like whomever they work for and other employees really enjoy working for this company which is usually makes a move more positive all around. It would have been great to have the same people deliver my household goods into my new home but unfortunately that is not an option. Scobey was contracted by Hi-Line to pack our household goods from our move from TX to GA. Incredibly horrible experience. Showed up under-staffed to pack our house. Packers were inexperienced; used two separate numbering/labeling systems for our items. Had to call company to send more movers. We had a bad experience with this moving company. The workers bragged about being fast and not careful and it showed. They put boxes in wrong area even after my wife and I made it clear where to put them. When they unpacked us they did it very quickly and did not always place the item on a safe place. We also have boxes missing and they did not care to do the research to see if they were missed placed. read more
