Nursing a drink or a coffee (sandwich, soup, or delicious baked good completely optional but…read morerecommended) in a spacious hipster chic venue (à la your grandmother's living room), laptop in tow, hoping to get some work done? Don't worry, this isn't Mitte. This is Neukölln, so you'll definitely find a seat where you can type away in peace. And much like Berlin, Prachtwerk is whatever you want it to be. I've stopped by whenever I wanted a relaxing place to work with friends--the fact that you can buy food and alcohol makes the work go by even quicker! +1 for the city's freewheeling, entrepreneurial spirit because if my experiences are anything to go by, no one at Prachtwerk will raise an eye if you 1. order a cocktail in the early afternoon or 2. hunker down for a few hours. A good place to work and chat with friends. However the espresso we ordered was sour. A sour espresso is a classic sign that the beans are either too coarse or over-extracted. It was almost undrinkable. The beans really should have been thrown out.
