I've been a loyal patient of Schweiger Dermatology in Smithtown for years and have always had positive experiences, which is why I felt comfortable booking a same-day appointment at the Deer Park location since it's closer to home. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and taken advantage of. I struggle with significant anxiety around doctors, especially in clinical settings, and instead of feeling supported, I felt judged and spoken down to. The provider I met with had very poor bedside manner and made assumptions about me and my body within minutes of meeting me. At one point, she even commented that I was "getting bright red" while questioning me, which only heightened my anxiety. I was too nervous to speak up in the moment. What stood out the most was being told multiple times that I "never have to come back" and could just return to the Smithtown location. That felt unprofessional and dismissive--especially given that I had just paid a significant amount out of pocket for the visit. To make matters worse, I was informed that treatment would require a follow-up appointment, leaving me feeling stuck after spending money on a visit that ultimately didn't help me. I deeply regret not staying with my original location. I've referred many friends and family members to Schweiger Dermatology over the years and truly value the practice as a whole, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I sincerely wish my visit to the Deer Park office had reflected the level of care and compassion I've consistently received elsewhere. read more

I was sent to collections over a $40 bill despite never receiving a single phone call, email, or piece of mail about any outstanding balance. Had I been notified even once, I would have paid it immediately. I found out only when the collection agency contacted me. read more

Not sure what happened. My family and myself are going for years. First, you cannot get through directly to the office anymore. It's all through a 3rd party.. That's a problem if your running late. Got there and closed for lunchtime. My appointment was for 12:50. Due to circumstances way beyond my control, and rushing to get there, I could not be seen. I begged to see Anne but was told I was over 15 minutes late. But truly, technically, because they were closed for lunch at 1... I legit had 5 minutes left and should have been seen.She was extremely rude ( reception ) . I left in tears as there is something growing in my armpit. I have never been so flabbergasted, frustrated and been talked to in the manor in which she spoke with me! My family and I will not be returning. read more

I've come to this practice many times over the years with no incident. I had an appointment at the end of December that was good, scheduled a follow up a couple weeks later and when I returned they told me my copay would be over double because I didn't have a referral. I explained that I had just been there, and this was a follow up. They said the policy changed. I was treated as if I was some riff raff that wandered in off the street. I had to ask my supervisor to get that morning off, and was basically told to beat it once I had already got to the office and waited for 10 mins. They easily could have called me in an advance and I would have gotten the referral. The people in reception were very rude in explaining this to me, as if I was bothering them. Horrible place, they ask me to pay my co-pay and previous balance before I'm through the door, make me wait 20 minutes so they could tell me that the Dr. that I had a scheduled appointment with wasn't there??? SO PROFFESIONAL! They reverse the co-pay only after I called (I'm sure they were not going to if I didn't call) then I find out my husband just sent a check for the same amount I just paid - I call the geniuses and they tell me "Don't worry, we won't cash the check since the balance is paid, we will send it back" Of course the morons cashed the check, admit they cashed it, and are refusing to give me my money back?? I have spoken with 9 people who keep assuring me someone will take care of it - they send me an email saying it's been taken care of when it hasn't??? It is so sad what has happened to customer service, they are the most clueless people - they must be democrats! Needed a Dermatologist quick. Looked up name on my insurance saw they took my insurance and called to make a appointment. First time patient. Did everything over the phone and text. I made my appointment for the 16th of September. T'his was on Monday the 6th. I got a text that afternoon telling me of a cancellation for Tuesday the 7th, I took it. Very happy first time patient. If I could give 0 stars I would. This office is disgustingly unprofessional. I have been calling trying to get biopsy results for 2 days and no call back. I can't even get an office member on the phone. When you call, their call center answers and "sends the message to the office" since no one answers the phone. The first person I got on the phone at the call center told me, "look up your results on the patient portal." I'm sorry, did I go to medical school? I see the diagnosis but have no clue what it means. The fact that I left 3 phone messages and have also texted them and not one single person has gotten back to me is beyond words. I have been to this office a few times and I am amazed at how this office is run as compared to other Doctor offices that I visit. The staff is very friendly and the office is very clean. The wait time to see the doctor is minimal (they must know how to schedule!). Once you are brought into the exam room, you wait a very short time to see the doctor who also is very friendly. A pleasant experience overall! Besides the overall service I also feel confident in the treatment that I receive. If you have not tried it, I would suggest you give a try. SCAMMER I took my 10 week old daughter today (5/19/2022) to see a pediatric dermatologist at 505 Grand Blvd, Suit 1 Deer Park, NY 11729. She saw Dr. Ronny Herskovits whose office staff mentioned that he is a pediatric dermatologist twice. One of which is recorded today. This is also mentioned on the website. Dr. Ronny came to the office and said that my daughter needs to see a pediatric dermatologist! My jaw dropped because we were told that he was one. He did not provide any service to her yet we paid $60 up front. I requested my money back and was told that a supervisor will contact me today. No one contacted me so I am filling this complaint. My husband took the day off to take her with me to the dermatologist and we waited two and half weeks for this appointment only to come out empty with no medicine to help my daughter. He robbed her of two weeks of treatment which is very critical since she is 10 weeks old and the hemangioma on her nose close to her eyes is growing fast. That is not right. He shouldn't claim to be a pediatric dermatologist or see children if he can't write them a prescription. At the very least I want my money back ($60), no service was provided whatsoever. Nothing new from what the pediatrician told us. I can provide the pediatrician's referral letter for the hemangioma. read more

I'm not one to yelp, but I after dealing with the aftermath of my visit with Schweiger Dermatology a year later, I think that this is necessary. There are two issues that I am dealing with. The growths 'removed' have grown right back after being assured that they wouldn't, and they did not properly bill my insurance agency. I had two quickly growing lesions on the side of my jaw and neck. Doctor Anne Lloyd told me that in order to determine that they are in fact lesions (benign), she would shave them to skin level and submit them for a biopsy. She came in on a walker, and I was nervous to have her perform this procedure as she was leaning on my chair with one arm and ready to knife my face with the other. She did a mediocre job getting these to skin-level, but a year later and they protrude more than they did originally. I was told that the procedure would be covered by my insurance company, as it was for medical and not for aesthetic purposes. A year later, and I received my first bill, stating that if not paid it is going to a collections agency (?!) Confused and shocked, I call the office, and finally get to someone in the billing department. She gives me a long-winded and indirect answer basically saying that I didn't meet the deductible, so I must pay the entire bill. After speaking with my insurance agency, I learned that some of the charges on the bill were never actually sent to the insurance agency, and other charges were already paid by the insurance. This is a common tactic used by dirty medical offices- They reach out a long while after your appointment with a letter stating that you are going to collections if not paid immediately. They hope that the fear of a bad credit score and the fuzzy memory of which bills you paid a year ago will get you to pay quickly and in full, regardless of whether you actually owe that money. Luckily my insurance agency was incredibly helpful in unmasking the issue with the charges of that visit, and assuring me that I don't actually owe them any money, but please take my advice and save yourself the headache a year later- go to a different dermatologist. read more

I like this place. I've only seen the PA, Anne Llyod, and she is wonderful. She listens to your concerns without rushing you, and is able to pay attention because there is a scribe in the room documenting everything on an iPad, so the physician doesn't have to while in the room. The scribe/MA, Alex, is also very friendly. I've had a full body skin check there and was made to feel as comfortable as possible. The only downfall is the lights!! It's like florescent central! I won't take a star off for that though, I can handle it for the half hour I'm there but those lights are so bright they usually give me a headache! FYI I came here from seeing Dr. Mariwalla, whom I didn't like. I highly recommend coming to Schweiger instead!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Ronny Herskovits, MD For over 20years; he has always been a down to earth, caring, professional! His office is always clean, and staff; through the years, has been friendly and kind. Seeing a dermatologist can be a little uncomfortable, but Dr. Herskovits always puts you at ease. EVERYONE SHOULD GET SCREENED FOR SKIN CANCER; and Dr Herskovits is the Doctor! BTW the ease of making appointments online and the timeliness of being seen was fantastic.... The entire staff from MD's to PA's to front desk are Grade A. Clean office, next to no wait time, friendly and caring with an excellent bedside manner. I went for my first full body check a year ago with another group and vowed never to return. As fate would have it an employee of Schweiger derm came into my office as a patient the next day and after chatting with them, they suggested I call and schedule an appointment for a second opinion with their office -a decision I am all too happy to have made. For two days I tried o get thru to make an appointment and all I got was a wait message and lots of music until I was cut off As a last resort I had to go to the office in Deer Park to make the appointment. This place is a complete scam. We called and then went into the office early last week to make sure they would accept our insurance. The front desk girl Ariel guaranteed us that our insurance would be accepted and made us an appointment for this morning. When we got there she told us we were 3 1/2 hours early for our appointment, I showed her the appointment card she wrote out for us the week before showing we had an 11am appointment. She then told us they don't accept the insurance without a recommendation or referral letter. She handed us a waiver to sign since we weren't told last week that we needed a referral letter. The waiver states we would pay out of pocket for the visit. This office has poor communication and is looking to make a quick penny by not telling you all of the correct information. When i told the receptionist Ariel, we wouldn't be signing the waiver she insisted we sign and wasn't very nice about it. We walked out and they lost a new potential patient. read more

This is the 4th or 5th dermatologist I have seen in the past 3 years. The office is very nice and all the workers are nice, very mannered, and friendly. The office looks lovely along with the patient rooms. The wait time isn't bad at all I came in early for my appointment and was out before my appointment was supposed to start. I saw a PA Lisa who was also very sweet and seemed interested in helping my condition. She asked a lot of questions and asked what I was using and so on to help get a better understanding about my face, she listened to everything I had to say as well. I have been battling with some type of break out for about 3 or 4 weeks now and the ointments and creams that I have been using from the other dermatologist I saw haven't been helping. All Lisa could say was that this takes time to bring the pigment back and for the breakouts to stop(it's been almost a month). She gave me no medications to help with my issue that I have been dealing with simply told me to keep doing whatever I have been doing and to come back in 4-6 weeks and that was the end of my visit. I was given nothing to help with the acne scars left all over my face which was another chief complaint I had. My face is something that is very important to me and I feel like something should have been done. I walked out crying because no one helped me and this is something I have to look at EVERYDAY and so does everyone else I see. I wasted 35$ on the copay I had to pay just to be told to come back in 4-6 weeks which I doubt I will do. I truly wish I can get a refund due to not being told/given anything new. She was attentive and spent time answering all my questions and concerns. She gave me medications that finally worked!
