I have been going to discount grocery outlet for many years with my family, and always have enjoyed…read moremy experience shopping there. Not only do you get access to unbelievable discounts on all you need to feed your family at home, but the employees there always go that extra step to help you find the best options and savings for that picky eater, a family member with an allergy or diet restrictions, find that new must-have brand snack your son is raving about, and never forgetting that mom needs her favorite coffee for those busy mornings too Then last year a new owner took over and I was terrified! First for the employees, that I consider my second family. Would they all be let go? What if the new owner lowers their pay grade and they are unable to maintain their current way of life? What if the business model is changed, and the community doesn't have access to the meats for their family or lunch box options that at regular price are not in most typical size families budget, not to mention the budget of many large or growing family! So, needless to say my wheels instantly started trying to find ways to fix all these terrible chages, THAT WERE IMAGINED IN MY HEAD! I hate to admit it, but I was not optimistic at all for the future of this special place I found so many years ago. THEN I WAS REMINDED WHY ALTHOUGH SCARY AND UNCERTAIN AT TIMES, CHANGE IS A NESSASARY AND CONSTANT PART OF OUR LIVES! WITHOUT IT, WE COULD NEVER EXPERIENCE ALL THE WONDERS OF OUR WORLD THOUGH THIS JOURNEY WE CALL OUR LIFE.......... Something I thought would be destroyed if changes were introduced, has only been inhanced and improved by the talents of the new HOH of my "2nd family", and New owner of that place I never realized was so special to me, has afforded me the opportunity to meet this wonderful woman and also erase all my worry because I know she is committed to her business, staff, patrons and community 100%. She is a woman of pride and dedication. She works hard to accommodate the needs of all she can. Numerous times has stayed up to an hour after closing time because my schedule often puts me there right before 6, but she will stay while I shop. Shes always inquiring about how my children are doing, or if there is any troubles out side of the store she could help me with. I know she cares about my well being as I do hers. This place always reminds you although it may seem like finding a needle in a haystack, beautiful souls are still VERY present in our world and I hope every person reading this is lucky enough to meet these beautiful people and experience DISCOUNT GROCERY OUTLET for the savings, the solice, and smile that you won't leave without. You are never just a sale or a stranger at Discount Grocery. Your a neighbor, a friend, a family. I love and appreciate each and every one of these extraordinary people and am so lucky I get to call them my friends.

Ever wonder what happens to all of those ding and dent cans of food from the chain stores? Do they…read morejust disappear into the great beyond? Do they find their way back to their original manufacturers, only to be re-packaged and sold again? A lot of them find their way to discount grocery stores, who pick them up from major chain stores for a fraction of the price. Sure the stuff may be really close to the expiration date, or the package may have a ding/dent in it, but the food is every bit as good as it would have been if you had paid full price for it at the major chain. Don't let the humble-looking facade fool you. Whether you need toiletries, protein bars, chicken breasts, cereal, or dessert; Discount Grocery Outlet has you covered. Almost everything there is name brand, and it's almost all priced well below the major grocery chains. The staff is all extremely friendly, and willing to help any given time you need them. If you prefer to avoid using plastic bags, they're happy to give you some of their cardboard boxes to take your purchases home in. One important thing to remember though, is that just because you found something there one time, doesn't mean it will be there forever. Unlike the big box stores, Discount Grocery Outlet doesn't have the constant supply of these items straight from the manufacturer. At the same time, the variety is great to see, and makes it an adventure going in every time. The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars is that the prices seem to have crept up a little bit since an article in the newspaper a year or so ago, spotlighting discount grocery stores such as this one. Discount Grocery Outlet was one of the main focuses of the article, and since there it seems as though they felt like the prices should increase to reflect their recent article mention.

I was researching and stumbled upon this Asian grocery store with a bakery and various vendors for hot foods. We stopped by on a Monday afternoon around 4 pm and there were a good variety of baked goods at Delight Four Bakery. I bought the following: pineapple bun, pineapple custard bun, coconut bun, cocktail bun, wife cake, walnut cookies, mochi with crushed peanuts, and paper-wrapped sponge cake. Everything held up well in our insulated cooler bags and made it safely through our +6 hour trip home. All of the bread, cake, and mochi were flavorful, soft, and tender. The cookies remained crisp. My favorite bun is the cocktail bun. It is a little different from the usual because the filling has a slight crunch to it. My one and only complaint is that the pineapple bun's crust was not thick enough. Otherwise, I would likely repeat every item and also venture out to try other items. We also browsed the grocery store and picked up a tin of mooncake because the local Chinese stores by our home do not carry that brand.
